  1. A question about the Bartletts. Do they grow pears up there?
  2. Sorry to butt in again. My canary has told me Roos may be the man. Tweet tweet! Outstanding issues are support team issues and sundry freebies from the AFL. This time I feel a little timid because I really want peace with my brother/sisters supporters. I will qualify these comments with an acceptance of the full metal pillory if I am wrong.
  3. It is a very good chance that the best coach in 5 to 10 years time is still playing or an assistant somewhere. Pehaps sitting under our nose. But there is no one on earth who can confidently crystal ball who it may be. Going this way will mean taking another punt on an untried but this time we cant afford to to get it wrong again. We need an experienced coach aided by by the best possible assistants until we are back on our feet.
  4. Sounds like your opinion of Neeld.
  5. Not much different to our tanking investigation. Harm minimisation. Vlad does not want to destroy them but to pull them back into line. Hird and Little are doing their best to back the AFL into the corner though. If it goes down severely on them, we may be exposed with our alleged links to Danks. Don't hope for too much natural justice as it may backfire on us.
  6. No collusion here. There are now bitter divisions within the club as demonstrated by the ugly exit of Chairman Evans. Hird thought he could ride it out on the strength of his popularity with fans and players. Now he and his backers are playing out the legal threats. But a big mistake if he thought he could take on Vlad. The players are also now deserting him as I predicted after the removal of Evans. There are forces within the club that now realise it is not all about him. They want outs but lets hope they tear each other to pieces first.
  7. Essendon better make their minds quickly iif they want to plead guilty now and lose points for this season.. Their finals campagn is in tatters. After todays loss it clear the players have had enough. If they continue to dither they will lose the next seasons points. But I hope Hird's stubborness is resolute and drags this on so they end up suffering the real punishment next season.
  8. I prefer him to skip the Rising Star and pick up The Brownlow in a couple of years.
  9. Assuming your story has currency, the only attractive suspects are Lyon himself, Longmire, Clarkson and perhaps Woosher.
  10. I believe Rattan is a worthy candidate. He was able to minimise the cancerous damage of tanking at Carlton unlike us. And Malthouse is now backsliding and paying the price for it.
  11. It is annoying there are still so many in denail that we did not tank. We did and it is no use in clouding it in legal gobbledegook to pretend we didn't and try to rewrite history. The matter was resolved in house wisely and we were stone cold guilty because we coughed up the fine and people were suspended. The other big losers for the monumental errors of CS and CC beside ourselves are all the lawyers and QC'c who missed out on big legal fees. The head in the sand and victim mentality still lives with some supporters at this club despite many changes for the better recently.
  12. I wouldn't count Clark. The war chest was last seasons spin. Dawes is a great pick up but we paid a big premium when our only rival was the Bulldogs for his services.
  13. Not really, the delisting of Moloney, Pettard, Rivers, Green, Martin and others would have easily covered their unworthy salaries I hope. The war chest was just another brilliant piece of fantasy spin by Schwab to buy time until he could get a contract extension for himself and his mate IMO. Perhaps they walked away with the lions share of it if it ever existed?
  14. Who is likely to kick the other goal?
  15. I wonder what also happened to the warchest.
  16. Never a hack but never should have been coaching. NFI in that regard.
  17. I remember his disgraceful last game. While Collingwood was kicking goals, he and other were collecting heads. Nothing to be proud of.
  18. Well the penny has finally dropped on the AFL. Thats why they are taking away responsibilty from the incompetant old boys who have been living on past glories and traditions for far too long. If the AFL wanted to relocate us they would let us starve until an inch before death before throwing us the lifeline.
  19. I read Eddie McGuire is touting Roos as being a great replacement for Hird. I don't think he is serious. Just [censored] stirring at this stage but is a posibilty. If Roos is interested he will have to consider the anticipated harsh sanctions and the very deep old boys mentality which will find it difficult to accept a brash stranger replacing their dear one.
  20. Having watched the majority of 1981 games, I remember in more than two thirds of those games we were very competative for 3 quarters at least and got blown away in the last. The side of the last two seasons has plumbed deeper depths of mediocrity for sure.
  21. I suspect an E25 clone. They always keep telling us how great things are going. Covering up their guilt?
  22. Never mind the Lord, I just want to burn at the stake the anonymous supporter who sold his/her soul to Satan for the 7 wishes. Damn fool.
  23. He has well developed survival skills?
  24. You should wear your qualifications on your chest.
