Not certain this is a criticism Wretched. Robbo and Brad Green for example weren't noted for giving the ball off if they were within a taxi trip of the goals. Milne and Harvey likewise ( even though I hate both those rats) did likewise. In the past Kevin Bartlett was called Hungry - it goes with the territory.

Well this answers some questions for me. If all our big men are fit then, at most, only two of Jamar, Gawn, Fitzy and Spencer will get a game.

In reading this thread and the other similar one (vs StKilda round 1) it is interesting to look at who "selectors" choose to leave out or name as emergencies. In the dark days under Neeld we were bemoaning the fact that player A was dropped for being useless one week but reincluded 2 weeks later because his replacement was more useless. Or, even worse, player A still useless was not dropped because we had no one better to replace him. Many of the above sides leave out the likes of Fitzy, McKenzie, Matt Jones, Terlich and Strauss. Not superstars but at least a luxury we have not had for a while. Some depth!

Everytime I don't read Robbo, I feel smarter. I've said it before on this board but I will continue to repeat it . Robbo is an ignorant dick!

That aside I'd be interested to hear where you see Fitzy fitting in next year. Neither Gawn nor Spencer can ruck all day but I don't really want to see Clark or Dawes having to take on the responsibility of "second " ruck - I'd rather see them kicking goals. Fitzy is athletic and with a good preseason is he capable of another role (half back wing) while providing some ruck support. If al our bigs are fit we have some interesting selection issues.

Okay, let's give Magner a fair go. He tried his guts out - we can agree on this. He is hurt and disappointed - not unreasonable. He is obviously not media savy because he has only been a fringe player without much media experience and therefore has come over badly - give hin a break on this. Probably not good enough but would have to be considered stiff not have had another game after his upgrade last year. Good luck for the future!
