  1. He gave us 10 or so years loyal service and left to play finals at a time when Melbourne was making all senior players feel very shaky - eg Jnr. I'd welcome him back in the future.
  2. Agreed! That incident is still vividly implanted on my memory. It was a gutless king hit.
  3. How dare someone who is working "for free" ignore his responsibilities to we users under the petty guise/excuse of being with his family? Probably a recycler too.
  4. I agree with you Song. Voss has the right credentials - I cannot believe the way Brisbane gave him the big A just when he was starting to come good. In any event I'd like him around the place to assist in the development of Viney and Toumpas.
  5. Yes Ablett is a 10. However, I'd go a bit higher on Jones (4-5) because, while he does not have GA's ability, he just works so hard with little support. Also Viney would be a positive.
  6. Well picked up Biffen. Obviously you have a propensity for the more formal of the reader oriented approaches but clearly you are also strongly influenced by the poetic and metalinguistic. ( although no doubt there are other factors at play)
  7. Just read Enyaw’s post that has been the subject of considerable comment. There has been a classical misreading here and En.. , I’m certain, is the victim of churlish misunderstanding – after all ,a prophet is never recognised in his own land. The following quote from “American Deconstruction” amply supports Enyaw’s position , “...critics flirted with a number of alien presences in their attempts to throw off the long cherished formalism of the New Critics.” Clearly Enyaw has has looked ahead and realised that the “the scientific ‘myth criticism’ of Northrop Frye, the Hegelian Marxism of Lukacs, the phenomenology of Poulet and the rigours of French structuralism [has] each had its day.” And if that is not enough, “De Man believes that this insight -in-blindness is facilitated by an unconscious slide from one kind of unity to another”. Good show Enyaw.
  8. As a retort, that's a clear failure Moonie. You'll need to do better than that. But another time another thread - or we'll be hijacking.
  9. Or [censored], or crank, Or tank (not at melbourne) ............... and ...just for you Moonie SPANK!! Hope that makes you feel better.
  10. Col could have been far more important to Melbourne but..... what we got was ..well ..what we got!!
  11. Jesus Hoges you're getting in early! Let's get the coaching type stuff at least started before we consider post career options! typo
  12. Alpacas are not silly enough to allow their d..ks to be photgraphed by a mate and then posted on the internet!
  13. Well OD, we may not have suffered the total FU that was the Neeld era
  14. A couple of our selections last year turned me off the notion of experienced (ie end of career) players But i'm having a rethink. Without question we are on shite street. Without question our midfield is .... well .. you all know. Without question we are craving success - supporters, members, players need hope. And let's face it Sloane, Swallow et el appears less and less likely. So let's take a punt on those two and , maybe, with some good luck injury wise we can taste some success. IE Be able to go to the footy with some positive expectations. Words missed
  15. The site is working beautifully in the badlands of Romsey. I've set up a second console in the barn so that "the lads" remain up to date. Perhaps a bottle of Moet to sweeten up Mrs Nasher?
  16. Just been reading the thread about server errors and costs etc. So, given it's trade time I wondered who, if any Dland could trade out to raise a few bucks to keep the site going? Who has any value to other sites? Just a few thoughts- OD? Sorry mate but with limited time ahead not worth much. Young dee? Inexperienced but prolific – possible trade to Bomber blitz. WYL – Has pizzed everyone off so no trade value. The Big [censored]. Sprays it everywhere – but hoping someone will take him. Biffen. Serious drug and lifestyle problems. A bit like Garlett – no interest. DC. Flouts his underwear in public – obvious exhibitionist – maybe a bit of run on occasions but would go cheap. Stuie – Wants to be Captain but ..... Moonshadow – couldn’t really even put him up for trade. Obvious user of illegal substances, bizarre lifestyle. Clearly has mental issues. Sounds a bit harsh I know but due diligence would find him out. Ben Hur – Would want to be Captain even more than Stuie – obvious friction there. ‘ ... bubsie??? Effed up due to name change. That Clint Eastwood bloke – Jesus Christ That Song bloke with the buffed breasts and RTG are both Schoolteachers – not worth a cracker. Sorry guys – I left another dozen or so failures out ( at least). I simply became too depressed. Demonland is about as tradeable as MFC. Of course I, modestly, must mention myself, high trade value but loyal. So don’t worry, I’ll stick.
  17. Getting a shiteload of "server errors" - just for your information
  18. I'm a faithful stalker Moonie - one at a time.
  19. Well I can only marry her off once, so I need to get the best possible price. You know how it is in a capitalist world. Worst case she gets sold to Biff and has to work at the Gat.
