So the slight PCL strain is just a cunning ruse!
-
Totally agree - go out and see the world young man! Seriously - he’s in the same country and a flight away.

Hutchy urging West Coast to be bold…for another cheap headline. That bloke really has no moral compass.

I hope he’s okay. The great thing about recruiting guys like him, Dunstan, Mitch Brown etc, means that our draft recruits jump into a Casey team loaded with experience and can build up their experience playing around quality, just as those who break into the first team are able to learn shoulder to shoulder with the best. Good luck Majak - your time with the Demons has been invaluable for those young hopefuls.

Carlton is the club that I can’t work out…several top 10 picks plus the likes of Martin, Saad, Cerra and Hewitt on presumably big coin…

Problem with all this loading business that @binman has brought into the zeitgeist, is that I can’t tell who is genuinely loading and who is, in fact, just [censored].

Great summary - I don’t think we’ve played that way at all, this year. It’s so much fun to watch, when we bring the heat. Not only the forward pressure, but the calmness in getting the ball out of a crowded D50. Hibberd made a big difference tonight: I wonder if Charlie Cameron got a touch?! Edit: Cameron got 13 - I don’t recall seeing him all game!

On this - when we are back playing our high pressure football, the intensity of the crowd is so much greater. Such an exciting team to watch.

Chris Fagan is all class - such a great bloke.

Exactly. As if the Freo powerbrokers are going to let that slip to Peter Sumich 🤣

Tanking to have a stab at LJ?

In Season - Loading/Periodisation: Put your conjecture here.

I’ve been wondering this as well - if we are going to ratchet up the pressure in this half of the season. Let’s hope so! -
We would want more than just a number 2 pick - this is a 21 y o Rising Star, Premiership ruckman, who has been learning from the best in the business. It would be pick 2 plus player.
-
There would only ever be one winner in that confrontation…
-
Maybe he comes to the Dees?!
-
Agree with you, but the problem is that we have also been relying on Max in a forward line that is already dysfunctional, so there’s almost 2 roles to fill. Weid is the logical answer but he has been given so many chances to prove himself…

I would love to see @binmanproved right, at the end of the season - I really enjoy this calm analysis, although can’t 100% buy into it yet (like @DemonlandI still have a touch of the MFCSS). However, if they did end up tapering and producing the stuff we saw last year it would be effing glorious! For me, the reason for my partial MFCSS return is that I was looking forward to seeing a season full of the football we witnessed at the end of last year, which we now know is unrealistic. What do the lads think about the Burgo Effect? I’m sure Selwyn is a great replacement, but Burgo seemed to be like an extra coach: I wonder if they’re missing that element? Looking forward to hearing the podcast.

Jimmy Munro seems like a ripping fella!

Their talls are an upgrade on ours, for sure, but the Bombers are giving them acres of room tonight.
-
Exactly - besides, as any discerning Melbourne supporter will tell you: weekends and public holidays at the snow are for the unwashed masses. Real Melbourne supporters go during the week, when there’s less riff-raff and a much shorter queue at Kofflers.

Given Max’s great ability in front of the media, I don’t think we need to hear from Goody. Our system and culture is a player-driven one, so the players can speak up. More pertinently, I’m sure the club don’t want to take the spotlight off the Big Freeze and Fight MND. No doubt, some journos will end up hijacking the MND press conferences and build up, in the hope of snagging a sensationalist quote, but hopefully most will show some restraint and self-respect.

My opinion of Max Gawn just grows and grows. I don’t think I have ever seen a footballer handle a hostile press conference with such aplomb. Answered the questions calmly and intelligently. He will rightfully go down as one of the greatest AFL captains. As for those “journalists”, that is gutter stuff of the lowest variety: similar to what we saw in the lead up to the election. You watch the presser and see how the likes of Tom Browne twist it for clicks. Utterly shameless, really crappy, lowbrow stuff. Ugh.

I was just thinking the same thing! I love Entrecôte too and this story just made want to for a steak and a ballon of rouge.
