I would have thought that will be something that Hogan was "designed" to do...he strikes me as a latter day Plugger Lockett.
-
Played it cool with just a sly grin... but to me, it is looking more and more likely he is seriously considering the position as he is certainly not giving any negative reaction.
-
They are talking at the moment and telling Roos how he will make Fitz and Terlich etc, good players... finished by telling him all he needs to do is sign on the dotted line.
-
Yeah, why on earth would we want someone who leads by example, who provides mentoring for the younger players and who proudly represents his club at any given opportunity?
-
Why be glad he's not at the MFC because of that? I would like to think we would want guys who can play good footy... and he is someone who can definitely do that.
-
Apparently Harry didn't front up to training today, so I guess Cloak's comments about everything being hunky dory are not quite accurate. Wonder what it was that Buckley said re same sex marriage that got him so offside?
-
You start off by saying you don't know what he overheard, and finish by calling him a prima donna based on what you think bucks might MIGHT have said? I have said a long time ago I would love to have him playing for us, and I still feel the same way. He would be a major asset at our club. Who cares if he is a bit outspoken; there's nothing in the rules of the code that says a player cannot speak out on things non football that he believes in. I really do get sick of all of these people who criticise him just because he holds a few off centre views and isn't shy about expressing them. And as for his supposed anti-fat comments Gorgoroth, are you serious??? How you can draw a comparison between that and his criticism of Eddie and his Goodes comments... are you one of these people who can't stand sledging in cricket? (because that is all it was... a harmless sledge suggesting another player who was obviously not overweight, lose a few pounds).

Time travel often can adversely affect the synapses, causing a disconnect between the hands (typing) and the brain (thinking).
-
Yes, but if you read the word "words" after you have been drinking, the brain can sound it as "verbs"; that's a clinical fact that I just made up, by the way.
-
Perhaps you'd like to tell us all how many times in the past Moloney has done this? Every player is entitled to the odd game where they perform out of their skin...unfortunately most cannot do so consistently, with Moloney being a case in point.
-
Yep, scored his first for the season...absolutely killing it.
-
Don't worry about them... I get the feeling some of those posters are just pining for the good old days of IRC chatrooms where they could go in and flame away to their hearts content and get real time responses or news groups like Aus.politics... now THOSE were the days :-)
-
Despite Fifty-5 jumping down his throat, I think Satyriconathome is spot on... it's extremely unlikely any current member of the playing group would be tweeting such things.
-
I get the feeling this will all come down to one of Craig (now that he has said he will take a "see how the interim job goes" approach), Eade (still has the fire in the belly) or Chocco... Roos I would think is highly unlikely (I hope I'm wrong), Bomber has stated categorically that he would not be interested and Woosha has virtually done the same.

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here... this is the War Room!
-
Ok, if you're not Brent himself, then you must be Jeff Kennett?
-
Like it., but one question... is that an emblem or a guitar pick? ;-)
-
Lol... I actually like it but still would rather keep the current one... maybe this is a good merchandising logo though as it would have much more appeal for the kiddies. One thing though, when I look at the demon's head and those ears and try to imagine the face, I keep coming up with a mental image of Alfred E Newman.

I don't disagree with you and I have stated I would love to see Roos at the club as coach, however those comments of his left me in some doubt he would want to do it. As for the money, I have no doubt he would be on substantially less then $1m p/a, but with his media work (Foxtel and printed media) as well as his coaching work with the Sydney Swans Academy (would there be a conflict of interests there - assuming he is still doing this?), I think it's probably fair to say he is very comfortably well off... and as I said, would our offer be enough to entice him anyway considering the pain and stress that would be a given? What pitch could the club possibly give him to get him to listen? I'm pretty certain that in his position he would be pretty much across most things taking place at the club already, and it is pretty much accepted knowledge that the club is a basket case that needs mending in a very big way.
-
Fairy tale land? What sort of coin do you think Roos would be on at Foxtel? I'm guessing it would be a lot. Do you think that we would be offering him enough to make it worthwhile leaving that for what will surely amount to a lot of pain over the next few years in getting the MFC up and running? The same people who claim money is the great motivator also make the claim that Roos should see this as a great challenge... he has stated that he doesn't have the desire to coach, so are you happy to see him come to the club purely for money and likely with his heart and mind not in the job?
-
The key Roos comments are: "I don't have a problem with that. My mindset is it would want to be a significant change ... to where I am at the moment." "In some ways it's the great coaching challenge, but you have got to be thinking like a coach to take it on if you are going to do that role." To me that reads as him being very non-committal and I would take very little that is positive out of that. He has a very solid media job that probably affords him a very comfortable lifestyle free of the stresses related to coaching and he has stated in then past that he does not have the requisite desire to coach at the moment... and as he claims to not be motivated by money, I would assume that is pretty much key to him returning to coaching. Would be nice to get him, but the way I read that article, it says nothing beyond what he has pretty much consistently stated on On the Couch in the past when questioned on the subject of coaching the MFC.

Wouldn't it be easier if you went and took out a Brisbane Lions membership?

How's the weather up there in Brisbane by the way?
