  1. Must have been the day I forgot to wear my monocle.
  2. Of course they should. It's like the New Years Eve fireworks... you have the warm up display at 9pm for the kiddies (AFL sanctions) followed by the big impressive display at midnight (ASADA sanctions).
  3. Really it should probably be playing for no points and ineligible for the draft (or at the very least, last pick in each round).
  4. Oh. and how could it have been a lie? You were apologising for something that the post you were responding to stated was said in 2009. Now maths may not be my strong suite, but if I'm not mistaken, that is 5 years ago. No research required.
  5. And here is the interview caught on video...
  6. Wow, it only took you 5 years to make an apology and only then, when prompted. "bigc" seems like it was a fairly appropriate forum name considering the nature of the remarks.
  7. Thanks BB... but as I said in my response to Where-a-Dee, it is drawing a long bow to raise an assistant development coach position at a club one and a half decades ago.
  8. Ok, I stand corrected on the Richmond gig (but being a decade and a half ago, that is a very long bow indeed). Oh, and 20 wins over his first three seasons as a head coach is hardly a fail. As for the Sydney theatre comment... not quite sure what that is supposed to mean. Being an ex Melbourne person who was born in Ringwood, grew up in Croydon and later lived in St Kilda, South Caulfied and Glen Iris and spent a lot of time in Altona (due to being in a band based there), I am hardly the regular theatre going type (although I do occasionally attend as it can be a good night out - unless you have a poor self image of course) - besides which, I believe Melbourne is far more renowned for its high quality theatrical venues, Anyway, best you develop a taste for humble pie, as I'm sure you are going to be eating a lot of it in years to come.
  9. Have a go if you use sensible facts and not half baked assertions. According to you McCartney was employed at Richmond Football Club - wrong. According to you, he failed in his tasks at the Essendon Football Club - he was only there for one season (2011) before he was offered the head coach position at the Doggies; so, have to give that assertion a fail as well. And almost without exception, all of the media pundits are of the opinion that he was very successful at both the Dogs and the Cats and there was genuine disbelief over the fact he had been moved on. So basically, on all counts you have failed.
  10. Don't give him a way out ET! ;-) After all, part of H_H's charm is that he does tend to wear his heart on his sleeve.
  11. Perhaps he has some other personal committments? And on that link, it works for me if I go to the Home page of the MFC site and select the link there... but for some reason clicking on the link above just doesn't work, even though it appears to be exactly the same.
  12. Opinions are one thing, but they should at least be backed up with a modicum of substance. And yes, well done Kurt!
  13. That's strange... the article at the end of the link seems to overlook his stint at Richmond. Perhaps Werridee can bring us all up to speed with that as well as the reason he didn't get the Essendon team up and absolutely flying in the single season he spent with them? "He done nothing at Richmond, Essendon and the Bulldogs but got lucky at Geelong"
  14. In all fairness Sue, Machsy was quoting Werridee.
  15. From Werribee no doubt...no surprises there considering what Werribee is notoriously famous for.
  16. As Dwayne Hoover said: "It's all life until you're dead."
  17. Ok, someone help me please... where's the pun in this?
  18. Possibly... but what is the ratio of members to supporters who attend our games? As far as supporters who are not members go, I doubt that they will be too concerned over whose home game it is, because it's still at the MCG and they have to pay regardless.
  19. Well, it is almost guaranteed that they will be bringing the majority of the crowd.
  20. When and where did he say that? Not doubting you, just curious.
  21. Hird must be a Little nervous... "Also added to the revised code were stronger powers for anti-doping authorities to punish coaches and trainers who help athletes dope, and more emphasis on investigations away from drug tests to catch cheats."
  22. ASADA rejects AFL players requests Wow... I think they are digging a deeper and deeper hole for themselves at Essendon: While all claim to represent the interest of the players and/or Australian sport, the advice as to remedial actions varies dramatically. In my role as protector of clean athletes in Australia, my advice to them is that if they want to act in the best interest of the players they should review the 12,000 pages of evidence and follow the due process. I only wish that such interest in player welfare had been present in 2012.
