  1. Jeffy says hello.
  2. Jones certainly didn't hold back when Jack kicked the crucial goal against Collingwood. He just about bear hugged Watts to death. I heard they were mates too.
  3. A first round pick is much better than a second round one.
  4. A second round pick would be a gigantic FAIL. Second round pick No,No!
  5. Why would Port want Jack anyway. Don't they practice tough unrelenting pressure all the time?
  6. But we aint getting players anywhere near these guys in talent. Talk of pick 20 is not very exciting in exchange for a player of his talent. Or even third round pick from Freo as someone suggested. I will lose faith in the FD if he is traded for an ordinary run of the mill player.
  7. We can kick up a big fuss if Watts is traded without receiving a decent player in return. If he goes for peanuts I will be disgusted with the MFC and I have been a passionate Melbourne supporter for over sixty Years! We will certainly go backwards in a big way if this trade happens. Aren't we sick of talking about NEXT year or the year after etc etc? I really thought we were on the move in the UPWARDS direction. Thought anyway. That's the Norm Smith curse I guess.
  8. Brad Green was one of the bravest players we have ever had. Some of his marks facing the oncoming pack were so courageous. And you say he didn't want contact?
  9. I did say this year not previous ones. How they went after kicking out Lewis and Mitchell.
  10. He was injured in his first year at Hawthorn. That's why he only played around ten games with the Hawks. Now don't tell me he would have been injured if he was still playing for Melbourne. Think Nic Nat. If he had been a Demon he wouldn't have been in the same specific situation to have suffered a serious knee injury. Of course this doesn't mean they were injury proof.
  11. And Hawthorn hardly set the world on fire this year did they? I fear the same thing for us next year.
  12. Bruce wanted a two year deal and he deserved it. His form warranted it. By offering a one year contract to a loyal and hard working player they were virtually opening the door and easing him out. 'Don't like our terms go!' When you play well over 200 games witrh a club it would be hard not to still love that club. I always remember, as a new Hawthorn player, turning up to Jim Stynes funeral wearing a demons tie. I wouldn't say Green was done when he was shown the door. Was Robbo another who got the shove?
  13. We would be BIG losers if this happened. Balic is virtually unknown and couldn't get many games with lowly Fremantle. Never heard of him until he came up on this thread. 3rd rounder from Freo wow! What a bargain. I think a lot of Watts bashers are not going to be pleased when Watts stars against us.Imagine if he did a Collingwood against us next season. Our forward line is going to look very thin and our skill level will drop which is not what we let happen.
  14. I think I would add Melksham to your list. He is very damaging with his long kicking and ability to ptoduce important goals.
  15. Jackaub, you didn't answer my question on Brighton Grammar product Jayden Hunt. Do you not think he is tough and courageous? I guess you think Christian Salem a squib because he went to Brighton.
  16. The trouble with the likes of Grinter, Pike and company is that with our fast developing no contact rule they would be suspended endlessly and wouldn't be of much use to the team.
  17. Judging by your spelling of Grammar I can see you didn't go to school there. No more Jayden Hunts from Brighton Grammar?
  18. My TV set showed a different picture bobby. Cotchins eyes were clearly on the ball and his hands reaching for it. Just part of our great game. Body contact sport. Unless the head is a deliberate target no problems. Welcome to the forum. You will always get people agreeing or disagreeing with you.
  19. Probably thought Dustin would be a bad influence. No old school tie and all that. With him in the team we would be taking the Tigers place next week. How strong, skilled and tough is he? I believe he is better than Dangerfield.
  20. Did posters notice the constant booing when $cully had the ball? Either there were quite a few Melbourne supporters there or he is universally unpopular for his dishonesty and deception?
  21. Was there much difference between Sloan and Dangerfield and Cotchin and Shiel contacts? Both were going for the ball and in past years when footy was even tougher both would have been dragged by the coach for chickening out if they did not contest the ball. What were they supposed to do? Let the opponent have a free access to the ball?
  22. I hope you weren't hoping for a GWS win and a win for $cully? I was certainly wanting Richmond to win.
  23. Very illogical comment indeed. You have absolutely no substance for your arguments. Just like me saying they want Watts gone because they hate his guts. In an election those figures would be an absolute landslide. Facts mate, facts.
  24. That's right old dee.We can all remember Collingwood V North Melbourne games on B&W TV. On wet, muddy grounds we could still distinguish the teams the white shorts having turned black. When we play Richmond the contrast between our jumpers is huge. Certainly no clash here. Let's hope it's us V Tigers in next years GF and both teams are in their traditional strips.
