Neither are going anywhere, especially not Lids.

Patrick Smith is a waste of space. I never read his articles. Sensationalist drivel. Mind you David King is the current title holder for most inane criticism of the club/coach. King never has anything positive to say about Melbourne but he outdid himself when he criticised Neeld for his "phone manner" in the box, in reference to vision shown of him barking instructions during the Saints game. At first I thought he was kidding but no, dead serious. He was criticising a coach for getting emotionally involved. The man can do no right at the moment in the eyes of some idiots in the media, King being one of the biggest going around.

Let's go to Kardinia Park and Retrieve Our Dignity
P-man replied to Jonathan Steffanoni's topic in Melbourne Demons
The players will undoubtedly be thinking about 186 in my view, which is a good thing. I really think we could stick it to them in this one. A win is unlikely but far from impossible. -
I actually think there is a distinction between reving up the players and flat out abusing them. (e.g. "You need to go harder than that Grimesy!" as opposed to "You're a disgrace Grimes!"). Maybe that's just my twisted logic kicking in.

I'm amazed at the number of people dropping Watts. Proven not to be good in the wet, he'll bounce back next week. Out: Sellar, Tappy, Dunn In: Clark, Frawley, Jurrahcane I'd pick Couch as well but I'm tired of saying that every week with no result.

At the risk of getting way ahead of ourselves after 1 good performance, a win against the Cats isn't out of the question. The Tigers gave them a real scare.
-
Spot on. Also, the wet weather helped but it still would've been a tight contest regardless. I really can't speak highly enough of Jones and McKenzie. They set a benchmark today.
-
I'm curious as to why you think he doesn't cut it. He had some genuinely outstanding games in the second half of last season.
-
lol @ DW liking this post. What a shock. Your timing is perplexing. If we were to bring the same intensity as tonight we'd beat GWS by 10 goals. The time to reel out the doom and gloom isn't directly after the best effort of the season. We're steadily getting better and harder to play against.
-
But Sellar provided literally nothing up forward other than waving his arms about and looking flat footed. Stef is a tall target who is capable of taking a strong grab and finishing. Handy second ruck as well. In what universe is he a step back from Sellar?
-
He and Trenners seemed to be moving in slow motion tonight. Good off the ball but far too slow once they had it. Last season they were arguably our two most reliable midfielders. If we can bring them back up to par, throw in Strauss and Gysberts to provide a bit more class off the boot...Clark, Jurrah and Petterd up front....bugger me, we'll start to look alright again.

I would've liked to see a few more clean avenues to goal rather than scrappy stuff along the boundary and hoping for a favourable crumb near the goal square. The most pleasing thing was the mongrel on display. I think our work on winning contested ball and clearances is noticeably improving each game.

6. Jones 5. Rivers 4. Mckenzie 3. Bartram 2. Bail 1. Morton
-
Would serve him right. Hopefully he's banned cause we don't need that kind of rubbish here. There's enough angst floating about. I think Morton did enough to deserve a recall. Watts however needs to have a hard look at himself cause frankly he was [censored] poor tonight.
-
Great effort but the inability to break through the press in the last is of some concern.
-
Barty!!!!
-
lol @ McKenzie getting under Goddard's nose. Great stuff.
-
I can't see Sellar taking a contested mark any time soon. Sylvia on now please.
-
Worth a bump
-
Scrappy stuff but the effort is there. Three more quarters of that thanks.
-
Brian Taylor switching between calling our captain Jackson Trengove and Jack Trengrove.
-
Alot less happy about that, but not altogether surprising with it being his first week back Could be a real slaughter tonight with those two out. Let's hope we have a dip.
-
I'm a big Tappy fan so I'm happy about this in a twisted kinda way.
-
hahaha.. This is my favourite line: "At season end I'm sure we will approach the list management process professionally as we always have and maximise our two compensation picks." You ARE trolling, right?
-
I couldn't help but laugh at that match up. That said, I want him to build on the glimpses he showed last week.
