Staggering comment. What are you basing that on?
-
I noticed that too. I wish he'd stfu about "elite standards". We are the furthest thing from elite in the entire league.
-
Just realised something. Wasn't Magner BOG for us against Brisbane in Round 1 last year? That would make two years in a row where the best player was a first gamer. That is seriously damning.
-
I'd go the full blooded slap myself. I was actually debating with someone on how Byrnes would be a better pick up for us than Monfries would be for Port. Wow.
-
I'm part of an email group of Canberra based supporters and several are saying they won't be renewing their membership but will be doing so for GWS. Perspective? This club is in dire straits. That's the reality of this situation.
-
Have to admit I got a chuckle out of this. All so damning but all so true. It's absurd how bad we are.
-
Wake up call #37. It's past the stage of wake up calls. Those delivering the message aren't looking fit to do so. The list is not this bad. Not even close. They are just completely bereft of self belief.

My favourite play was when the ball was about to go out in the forward pocket, literally about to go over the line, and he's attempted the miraculous goal by sticking a boot onto it, only to succeed in kicking the ball into the third tier and turning over possession. Just unbelievably DUMB.
-
Agree with him.
-
Absolutely no blight on Toumpas. It was his first game. But he looked lost out there and right now should not be a starter. He needs to ply his trade in the magoos, at least for a few weeks.
-
Dunn was desperately disappointing. I was really conned into thinking he'd turned a corner. In: T Mac, Trengove, Dawes, Davey, Jetta, Kent, Terlich Out: Gillies, Dunn, Sellar, Tapscott, Nicholson, Toumpas, Byrnes

Not to get sappy but I enjoy your posts and hope you stick around.

I would implore every supporter to make your voice heard. Whether it be in person, by phone, email, social networking, or a combination of all of the above. Send a clear message that this will no longer be tolerated by the fans who have stuck with this club. That's all.

Oh christ, old dee. Someone put out a search party.
-
"When the opposition have the ball, what does that look like?" It's a red, oval shaped thing. You're meant to chase whoever has it to try and get it back.
-
This presser just makes me angrier. I'm not buying this spin any longer. Passing off the first 15 minutes of the third quarter as competitive because there was no score. Spare me. (in relation to Port's aggressiveness) "We didn't see that coming.." Really? You should've. It's called AFL football.
-
Appreciate the response. Attempted yes, but how much success has there been? Any? What evidence is there that the club is headed in the right direction other than the smoke being blown? Players saying they are fitter than they'eve ever been. Great. Under match conditions they were at a crawl by the time the final siren went. Defensive structures? WHAT defsnsive structures? The amount of space that Port's KIDS had, not senior players, was almost remarkable for an AFL match. Which of these senior inspiring types that he has brought in - Byrnes, Rodan and co - showed ANY form of fight when the muck hit the fan? Why on earth is Jack Viney, a first game player, head and shoulders above the entire team, and addressing them post-match in the rooms? Showing heart is precisely what I am doing. I am now questioning if this guy actually knows what he is doing, and after today, I feel it's a question that needs to be asked for the good of this club.
-
I've defended him in the past on the basis of his skills, but I can't defend how he continually shirks contests. It is extremely costly in his newly allocated role.
-
Honestly that would've washed over this time last year. In fact it did. But not anymore. The club needs to feel the anger from supporters in no uncertain terms. Sick of it. Completely sick to death of it.
-
Yeah I get the South Park reference. Never mind.
-
I am GOBSMACKED by that. He's an 18 year old FFS!!! What the hell is going on?
-
"I'd stop Mark Neeld from telling grown men that they are being educated (and by extension, because they are not very good). They need confidence not to be told how crap they are. His kids are not playing for him ATM - wonder why?" I've had an issue with this approach from day one, simply by putting myself in a player's shoes. They are young men, not children. Toughening up is one thing, as is making them more accountable. But would I want to play for someone who practically belittles me and assures me that I previously knew nothing? That is not the way you get respect. From anyone.
-
What is this saying exactly? That it's an overreaction? Turn it up Jonesy. I've seen you express your disgust in other threads. We're all shattered with what we just witnessed.
-
Could've give a stuff what any of them have say. It's like kicking a dead horse at this stage. I think many of them feel the same now. Denham is an exception, somehow he musters up the energy to lay the boot in on a consistent basis. I think he just hates the club.
-
We are at nothing to lose stage. No-one respects the MFC outside the club. Even inside the numbers appear to be dwindling. I am not advocating sacking him in Round 1, we need to retain some sanity. But I am not at all opposed to the idea of him being let go this year if there is no improvement.
