We are so potent once we actually get it forward.

Skills in this game are absolutely deplorable.

That is a pretty unsettling read.Neeld did himself no favours when saying we are at the same level of development as GWS. -
Absolute must win game. I couldn't care less who is playing for Neeld and who isn't. Show some bloody pride. Losing to a depleted GWS at the MCG will be spitting in the face of supporters who have stuck by this rabble. Go out there and WIN.

Admittedly I associate the current logo with the last few years. To me it just looks like soulless, corporate [censored]. My view might change once I can attach it to something positive, like winning games of footy.

Relax... We've still got Jesse Hogan...

We have a mountain of actual problems to think about. We don't need to add to it with pure hypotheticals. There's every chance we could be an entirely different side in a couple of years and Hogan will be a chief contributor and leader. -
The seeds of a massive man crush have been planted. The lad is a born winner.

I'm a dee-viant, and proud. -
I'm glad someone else feels the same way about the logo. I still hate it.

Such a mistake riddled game. Neither of these teams are looking all that flash in this half, although admittedly Pies have a few out.

It may not be war, but in a football context, it kind of is in my view. This is a tumultuous period, the likes of which I've certainly never seen at any club. There will be deserters, but for those who bunker down to be able to say they saw the club through this period, the rewards could be all the sweeter. -
Lol..brilliant.

I find that surprising as well. The whole story had a real Today Tonight feel about it. Not cool, ABC. It's true however that the club should have been up front from the outset about Dank's ongoing communication with Bates.
-
I'm gonna need confirmation from cowboy on that.
-
If my understanding is correct, none of the supplements referenced in the texts were banned. What's the issue here exactly? Purely the fact there was a supposed association with Dank, the only proof of which are these texts? If it turns out Dank was injecting our players, after the club explicitly stated he had no direct association, certainly that won't reflect well. As it stands, I don't think this is a sky is falling scenario.

Truth be told, it's damn close to our best side. I will be majorly, majorly [censored] off if we lose this one. Zero excuses this week. It needs to be a solid win.

Have to agree. Not a matter of rushing him as he showed he's ready for the big time in the pre-season. Did not look out of place one bit. He's got genuine quality and god knows we need that. Get him in next week.

This is why I love Cam Mooney. Here's the preview he gave on League Teams - some constructive critique on Watts rather than FIXATING upon the fact he didn't play last week as 90% of the gallery seem to have done, and in place of wisecracks and cheap shots, some actual positivity from last week: "It's great to see Jack Watts back in and I hope if he's going to play centre half-back or down back, play on a man. I hope the club just makes him play on a man. Don't worry about trying to get him to play spare man. Look, it's very hard to try and organise to get a spare man down there, especially when you've got a very inexperienced backline, so just don't worry about playing games. Just make this guy play on someone. He is extremely athletic, extremely quick, he can beat opponents one on one so make him play on an opponent. There's not too many positives down there right now but Nathan Jones, as usual, 28 possessions again last week, he's just an outstanding individual for that football club. Viney, again, 17 possessions, what a superstar he's going to be. And it was good to see Colin Sylvia, a couple of goals and had 20 possessions, after we gave him a little whack a couple of weeks ago, finally getting involved and showing some leadership so that is a great thing for the Melbourne Footy Club." I may not share his confidence about Watts' ability to beat an opponent one on one (and in fact he's had a direct opponent more often than Mooney realises I think), but boy is it refreshing to hear someone look at the positives to build upon, no matter how small.

You're definitely reading too much into it. Of course they assess the team they're up against, that goes without saying. I have to disagree on your overall impression of him from that presser. if anything, it was the first time I saw a genuine leader in him. I do however still think he was given the duties too soon in his career.

I just like that one of the few NFL players I've heard of is apparently terrible.

And this right here is why Ed is so mad for Fox Footy as a project. It's essentially his playtoy to widen the gap between Collingwood and the rest even further.

Agreed. It was interesting though not altogether surprising that his mentors didn't extend beyond the coaching staff. Once again this points to how useful it would be to have some ex players of Neeter's caliber around the club right now. -

I thought Trenners handled himself quite well at the presser when this and other issues were raised. I especially loved the way he stared down the journos questioning his leadership. Pretty sure he didn't blink. I've certainly questioned the decision to place the captaincy on a kid his age, and I still do, but give him a few more years...I see alot of potential there.
