Injury List - Round 6 (Mitch Clark 6-8 weeks)

I'm assuming so, I got a chuckle out of it. -
He could've walked at any stage, but no, he chose a different path. Self indulgent [censored].

Okay Dawesy, let's see what you've got. -
I had a dream last night that we somehow traded Trengove for Sloane (that's right, this club is now haunting me in my sleep..) The Adelaide fans were not impressed.

Perhaps you could try being a tad less cynical? He's not asking to be idolised or placed on a mantle for overcoming his addictions. He is a Responsible Gambling Ambassador because he clearly believes that sharing his story might aid in warning others of the traps of addiction, or indeed, how to get through it. I doubt he does it for the praise, as I'd imagine it's a pretty thankless task. As always in life, no matter what you do, there will be people lining up to knock you back down or question your motives. In this instance. you've put your hand up to fill that role. The raw honesty you get from someone like Schwarz can rub people up the wrong way. Personally I find that refreshing compared to the alternative which we see all too often from those in the public eye..

Absolutely ridiculous post from start to finish. The extent to which he "potted" Neeld was answer a question on whether he thought he would be coaching in 2014, and questioned if the players were playing for him. He never took any shots at him or even his coaching ability directly. It was more a comment about the current situation not being sustainable for too much longer.
-
Basically that if you were to say the first three rounds were players playing for their coach, you'd be lying. Questioned if the GWS game (obviously taped right after it) was merely a bandaid. Saw the club's survival being at stake and said he'd be open to any role admin or coaching, so long as he was able to maintain a steady income. He clearly sees the situation as being pretty dire.

Watts back, beard gone and salvation is on its way.
P-man replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sure, and I'm not saying he's the only one, but there were a few instances in the game. Watts could be a huge player in terms of the scope for on field leadership. Like it or hate it, he's a name player who can make statements for the team and the supporters. He's falling well short of that. -
Frawley is infinitely more important to this club than Neeld.

Seriously damning footage of his "chases" on the weekend was just shown On the Couch. Embarrassing to be honest, especially when they compared it to a chase by Puopolo. It's a crime for a guy with his skills to be seemingly so lacking in tenacity and hunger. Is it a simple case of him being Melbourned? He's too good to give up on yet, but something needs to change soon or he'll be off to a club that DEMANDS certain standards, and he will flourish. -
Ken Hinkely went old school Mark Neeld goes back to school

What does that have to do with anything? -

Baseless thread. You don't know that Neeld hasn't or wouldn't do the same. Critique needs to be at least somewhat reasoned. -
I'd genuinely like an answer to this also. I recall Neeld placing an expectation of more wins than last season, but didn't place a figure on it. Right now, the only team I see us as even being a chance of beating is GWS, so that benchmark is a long way off. I don't dislike Neeld, in fact I have alot of respect for the way he's held himself together after an unparalleled introduction to senior coaching with numerous external pressures. I desperately want to see him and the club succeed, but there is just so little evidence that this team is improving, and my confidence in his abilities as a senior coach couldn't be much lower than it is right now.

Most would know his back story already but should be compelling stuff on what is generally must watch tv. 9.30pm on Fox Footy.

Might be time to start practising what you preach there C&B. The above post falls squarely into the category of "absolute garbage". You've made your stance more than clear. But perhaps you should stick to facts when shooting down the opinions of others who dare speak ill of the way this club is heading, rather than reverting to these petty, childish, personal attacks. Alternatively, stick to the insults, but get off your damn high horse.

Howe in the backline was just.. I have no words or explanation. As for T Mac, I have faith he's just in a rut and a reflection of the way the team is travelling right now. He was one of the few shining ilghts last year. He'll come good. McKenzie, likeable lad that he is, has shown over the journey that he is not an AFL standard player. Someone who has to hand the ball off to a teammate because of their own shortcomings with the boot is a passenger and a liability. Yeah he can tackle. You could pluck any number of players from the VFL if that's all we're calling upon from him. It's a stage where if he doesn't turn the ball over, it's a surprise. 3 year contract and in the leadership group.
-
Will not matter one iota. Gibbs is looking doubtful so there is a tiny relief, but still wouldn't surprise if it was 100 points the way we're playing. But that's okay, it's Carlton, they're meant to be top four, right guyz? Right. Give the kids a run, what the hell. Pull the names out of a barrel. Grab someone off the street..they'll have as much confidence and understanding of our setups as the players.
-
He should be commended for his tackling pressure, as was the case all of last year, but AFL is getting faster each year. A player as slow as Trenners is cause for some concern if it can't be rectified. We need a number 2 draft pick to be able to provide a significant impact when we have ball in hand. He was able to do that against GWS..but off hand I can't think of the time before that. Saying he doesn't have the skills is rubbish, he's proven he does, but the lead boots are a worry.
-
Spot on. What really grinds me is no matter WHO the opposition are, there are excuses as to how/why they are vastly superior and us inferior. If we were beaten by GWS, you could put your effing house on it being a case of, "well they have a midfield consisting of Shiel, Greene, Ward, Scully etc..who do we have?".."they have so many high draft picks, it was only a matter of time..".."excuse C" The chronic acceptance of failure amongst some supporters is sickening, and Neeld's entire ethos is not helping. We are sinking further and some are standing back playing violins, extracting any indicators possible to point to as evidence of improvement, when the football WORLD can see that we have been plunged to absolute ROCK BOTTOM under this coach's watch.
-
To some around here? Yes, yes it was. But there are benefits to following a near unwatchable footy side. Just give me a minute to think of them..
-
lol..I'm far from Moloney's biggest fan, but what a crock of [censored]. Who is Neeld trying to kid? I'm pretty sure part of why Beamer left was because he was playing at Casey every second week and was not fitting in under Neeld's plan. Making out like they did everything they could to keep him and placing the entire onus on the player is laughable. You don't leave the club you genuinely love just for money. There was alot more at play on both sides, that was clear.

Anyone who votes Terlich as the best is looking at the stats sheet and not the actual game. His disposal and decision-making needs a hell of alot of work. But he tries and he cares, so good on him. Comfortable top two were: 6. Garland 5. Byrnes 4. Gawn 3. Evans 2. Sylvia 1. Terlich
