  1. The truth hurts.
  2. To Dawes's credit, he's done a sterling job at attempting to defend the indefensible. But I'm sorry Chris, the very idea of professional athletes being taught how to try at the expense of learning a gameplan, in Round 8 of a coach's second season, is one that is best not said aloud.
  3. pm, as rational as the argument you present may be, there is no way that you or anyone can justify the lack of effort on the part of the players. They looked defeated against the Suns within the first five minutes of the match. Asking supporters to be patient on this most basic fundamental of the game is asking too much. They've been patient regarding the "rebuild of a rebuild", they've been patient on the "development phase" being hammered into their collective skulls, but patience only extends so far. When the headless chooks can no longer be bothered, the coach's time is done. It's over mate, it's a matter of when, not if. The argument now is who takes over this mess.
  4. Incidentally, he also highly rates Watts and Trengove in terms of ability. Can't remember the last time he said anything positive about the MFC so I thought that was noteworthy.
  5. I agree with Mrs Burgundy. Roos was asked outright, "would you be open to coaching Melbourne either next season or in the short to near future?" "No" was the response. It was pretty clear cut. He seems genuinely happy in his media role. I'd be greatly surprised to see him coaching anywhere again.
  6. Kids won't wait another 12 months to watch the team get mauled every week. They'll simply jump off, and do. Junior fans are more important now than ever.
  7. When was the last time we beat North? Did Hawkey give everyone a day off?
  8. Granted, and I've never left, but to say I'm disenchanted would be a massive understatement.
  9. Mate, we can all debate on the changes that should be made but there's very much a deck chair feel about it, and with the way selections are going at the moment, there's every chance none of us will be right. The cynic in me thinks Neeld chose a less experienced side last week in order to have that excuse at his disposal. Admittedly tin foil hat stuff, but the fact that thought is even entering my head means Neeld has completely lost me. At this minute, I have zero faith in the ability of the coaching staff to assemble a 22 and motivating them to be capable of even competing with Richmond. Look at them. Most of them are playing like they couldn't give a rat's arse. Why should I? I've had it with this mob.
  10. That's great for you Ralphius, however the reality is that yes, the bulk supporters of need hope. And by "hope" I don't think they're asking for alot after 20 months, just SOME sign of improvement and evidence we're moving in the right direction, as opposed to hope that the losing margin is under 10 goals.
  11. Right there with ya.
  12. Plus plus plus plus plus plus? I think it's very positive. What continues to hurt our player's development is very simple: a lack of senior talent to guide them. Even the Dogs have this, which is why their youngsters, almost without exception, are coming along nicely. The void in this area makes the appointment of talented coaches that much more pivotal.
  13. I sincerely doubt it. He would move on. I feel a bit sorry for him. For all his errors in judgement, he would unlikely be in such a perilous position at any other club. Unless he can produce a miracle to right this ship in time to save his job, you'd have to think his senior coaching days are done. For a clearly ambitious guy, that will hurt alot.
  14. One of my best mates is a filth supporter and he texted me at halftime against GC to rub it in. He's a right [censored], but he's one of my barometers. Once HE gives me pity, we're officially done. While he's still giving me grief, there's hope.
  15. Parts sounded exactly the same, and its now lost its impact through overuse. That said, if you ever get the chance to hear the score played live, do it. Last year a friend convinced me to attend a screening of The Two Towers at the Opera House, with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra playing live. Whether you like orchestral music or not, worth very penny.
  16. He's right in saying that right now, just having a crack would do. Imagine that. The benchmark is you just bloody try. Don't have to imagine it I guess. It's reality.
  17. You know what, a big part of this IS appeasing supporters, because they're leaving in droves. Without supporters, we fold. Whether it be 5 years or 50, many simply can't justify supporting this team any longer. People need hope and right now there is zero.
  18. Fair call. In truth it was directed at a small segment, albeit one that is symptomatic of a tendency on Demonland to ATTACK and belittle those who disagree with you, which I detest, and have since I joined here. I hate bullies. I only hope the mood changes once our club isn't such a cesspit of failure on and off the field, and everyone is more relaxed. I refuse to believe those guilty are just arrogant [censored]. I completely understood the logic in calling for more time, but I think now, more people are seeing that this situation can not continue as is.
  19. The top three in that list are just shockingly bad footballers. Placing a complete potato like McKenzie into a leadership group defies belief. Not pulling punches here but it's the truth, he's embarrassingly bad. Nicholson over Jetta can't be explained, and if it's disciplinary that is [censored]. Evans and Kent are very early in the piece and have showed genuine signs. No chance I would give up on either of them.
  20. Terrible. I would desribe it as "Lord of the Dwarves by Disney" (or "Snow White with Trolls, and Snow White is a Hobbit"). What's most tragic is the EPIC soundtrack from the LOTR films, one of the very best things about that triology, was made to sound tired, almost vapid. Anyhow, a bit off-topic. :D
  21. That, or the bloke in charge of convincing Jesse Hogan to stick around.
  22. I've taken you off ignore to read a post starting off with "sorry darling". Back onto ignore you go, you condescending twit. Though i will say well done for FINALLY realising blame has to be laid somewhere, and you've decided the players. after abusing the living [censored] out of anyone who dared speak ill of the players or coach. Congratulations on your epiphany.
  23. Agreed. I watched The Hobbit last night. What a pile of glossy garbage. Hang your head in shame Jackson.
  24. Jackson mentioned this a couple of times in his pre-match interview, not in relation to the coach specifically but the club as a whole. He felt he could attract some good football people on the back of it, which gave me another glimmer of hope.
  25. Kudos HT, and no doubt it has gone both ways though from what I have seen, much more in one direction than the other. My comment was in reference to a few posters and they know full well who they are. Those saying Neeld is incapable of this job have been talked down to and outright abused, and those most guilty have been absent from the discussion since yesterday afternoon. At least show up is all I'm saying. Just an observation. Moving on.
