I'm not trying to have a go at the OP, but honestly my reaction would've been to laugh and tell the culprit to [censored] off. I was unaware people took footy humour so personally. Dawes especially was always going to be a target before he'd even worn the red and blue. The footy world is sceptical of him as the big off-season signing, and perhaps with good reason. It's no certainty that he can produce his 2010-11 form. We just have to hope that he can.
