lol..you're persistent, I'll give you that He looks great when he doesn't have to kick it.
-
Snoozer. North are simply out of their depth.
-
Rob's back!
-
I think the chances of that happening now lie somewhere between buckleys and bugger all.
-
He can definitely kick, and kicking is in vogue.. Probably done his dash at this club however. Another high draft pick. Flush it down.

ENYAW isn't a villain. Swap ENYAW with hh, add Louis Cypher, and you've got the dream team.

Finished the year strongly. His determination to get better will hold him in good stead, and on a good day he is very difficult to beat. He remains arguably the biggest liability with ball in hand (Grimes and Bail being the main contenders) but hopefully we can recruit some players to to lessen the pressure on him coming out of the back half.
-
I think he was moved into the forward line in more recent games to overcome the increasing lack of pace, but could be wrong. Not enough of an upgrade to justify costing the spot of a player who needs games under his belt. We can't just be a retirement village. Cross was and is still capable of playing to a high level. Sewell is fading. But if Roos decides to get him, it will of course be a great move.

I find it bizarre that anyone could puff their chest about "being right" when deriding someone from the very beginning, when that view is based on so little evidence. It doesn't make you a guru. It makes you someone who enjoys being critical for the sake of being critical, or perhaps places a high value on bragging rights flowing on from your premature potshots.

Not the least bit bothered about a first year player fading in the second half of the season. I'm as excited about this kid as I am about anyone on the list.

Your attitude was "finals or bust", and then proceeded to blow your lid when it was suggested that it was jumpng the gun just a tad, which inevitably, it was. Your labelling of this as a "hasty decision" after interviewing 20 candidates over a 12 month period is inane, and your lumping it with appointments made by previous regimes is equally mindless. I would be interested to know exactly what type of person you feel would be suited to a successor role playing understudy to Roos for 2 years. Because Goodwin seems to fit the bill perfectly. Actually scratch that, I wouldn't be interested at all.
-
I hope he enjoys the boos on QB. He'll have certainly earned them.
-
Loved Goodwin as a player and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders, bar some amusing tripping up over his words ("an extra 2 years as an assistant can't help" ) It's nice to have this sorted out now and everyone can get on with the business of winning footy games and putting smiles on faces.

Wtf? Crazy.

Other than the omission of Parker, which is a glaring one, I think they got it pretty right. You could say tht Sam Jacobs is also a bit stiff but unfortunately for him, Sandilands was completely dominant towards the end when people took the most notice. Pendlebury deserves his spot. It wasn't his best season but there's a reason he was voted sixth in the MVP by his peers, above Rockliff, Selwood and Gray, The few ordinary games he had towards the back end of the season doesn't discredit the rest of his year. He was again Mr everywhere, winning his own ball and an elite user (3rd for effective disposals). Priddis is a full 10% worse in his disposal efficiency than Pendlebury. He is a tough inside player but he is a hacker of the leather. Pendles averaged more kicks, marks, effective disposals, goals, goal assists, inside 50s and rebound 50s. In short he is a more damaging player and had more impact on his team. There's a reason Priddis divides opinion so much amongst Eagles fans. No way he should've been AA ahead of Pendles and definitely not ahead of Rockliff who had a superb year. Rance's stats as a defender stack up against anyone. In the glimpses given of champion data, he was at one stage ranked number 1 for contests won at around 45%, and that was before his 2 month run of excellent form at the back end. He was definitely more worthy than Taylor and Lonergan. MacKenzie is a worthier debate but I'd have picked Rance who conceded less goals and gets more of the ball. His poor showing in the final shouldn't put a cloud over his selection. Personally I'd have swapped Parker for Heppell. Heppell's stats are fairly comparable with Jones, who couldn't even make the squad. I think Heppell's season has been slightly overrated and it strikes me as a premature selection.

That's a meal! Soup is a meal!

You left out: - shamelessly rip off the Enlgish Premier League with a pre-match rendition of a pop song If we're going to copy them, we need to do it to the letter.
-
Ouch. So basically you have a constant, daily reminder of it. Unwise my friend. You are in a safe place here.
-
We need to take our wins (and associated gloating) where we can get them. Vince for Sylvia was one that we knocked out of the park.
-
Robbie Gray at pick 55 is ridiculous.

I just hope this club hasn't worn him down and he's not now just going along for the ride. I hope he still has the same drive and hunger. He's going to need it if he's going to get anywhere near the player he was in his first couple of seasons, when in fact we need him to be going beyond that level. He's a number 2 draft pick for heaven's sake. We need to see some value. 2014 was make or break for Blease, Strauss and Tapscott, and we pretty much got our answer. 2015 is that year for Trengove.

I can't recall a single instance in the past couple of years where anyone from their club has used age or games experience as an excuse. By contrast, you couldn't go a couple of weeks without Neeld mentioning it. From the outset, Hinkley has been a man of no excuses, and it has paid dividends. Roos is heading in that direction, but the mantra of "we're a bottom club" still seems to remain ever present.

This is so far beyond what Scully did. We were well compensated for Scully which we almost certainly won't be here. Scully was still wet behind the ears, was given a Godfather offer and simply wanted out. This will just be a dog act, plain and simple.

I refuse to believe it until it's been confirmed.

It's not just you. "How Melbourne are you on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being disgruntled and 10 being ready to jump off a bridge)?"
