  1. She certainly enhanced my deal. Wait, that's not a fish pun. I stand by it.
  2. So you shored.
  3. I'd rather that too. Whether that will get it done is another matter. As I said, I can easily see him getting picked up in the draft in which case we will lose a proven quality crumbing forward who wanted to come here and whose best goal tallies are double that of our leading goal kicker this year. I take your point but disagree on your overall evaluation on the difference between 23 and 28. Once you get to that stage, I think a 5 spot difference is more towards the negligible than the meaningful side of things. I'm not gun ho for it, but it should be considered.
  4. Again, it's not Pick 23. It's a slight downgrade of Pick 23. No-one would give up Pick 23 for Garlett. That's not the proposal. If it's not a swap for Blease, what are some alternatives?
  5. If we want him then we have to deal cause he will definitely get picked up, and if it's a third rounder then downgrading 5 places from Pick 23 isn't "way overs". There's stuff all difference between 23 and 28. I can think of worse results than both H and Garlett for Pick 23.
  6. EFA GWS starts over with Pick 2 & 3 and lose two proven top end talents, and Danger for Cameron I'm not sure would totally suit the Crows. Cameron faded this season, injuries not withstanding. Danger is worth more to them. We'd be laughing though.
  7. Pick 23 downgraded 5 spots. I don't see the Blease swap happening, so deals like this might have to be considered to get it done. We would hope for better, of course.
  8. Saints fan on Trade radio proposing Armitage and Pick 21 for Pick 3. Move along son.
  9. I seriously doubt Carlton will be doing a straight swap for Blease. Garlett has currency. Blease (and Strauss) has next to none. Some Carlton fans suggesting Pick#23 --> Garlett + Pick #28? Slight downgrade that is worth considering. Garlett is really worth a third rounder, which we don't have.
  10. He's nominated Geelong and discussions are now with Geelong. Shafting them at this point wouldn't bode well for any future dealings. If we can get the three way deal that suits all parties, Collingwood to a lesser extent, then I think that's the ideal outcome. The downside is Clark will likely avoid facing a Melbourne home crowd next season. He gets to weasel out. Again.
  11. Pick 23 is clear overs for Prince. He is gifted, but he ain't worth that. Geelong's pick 33 I'll be reasonably okay with.
  12. He's a Garry Lyon mini-me. Becoming our best player is a mere formality.
  13. I thought that was "Poppy wow"?
  14. Also tweeted that we "deserve some luck" after the pick 3 compo, which sent many on bigfooty into meltdown. He does seem to be more in our corner of late, which is odd given he's a Tigers fan and they generally can't stand us. We don't have many allies in the media, so I for one welcome Ralphy's new found affection.
  15. Yes this is very nice, but let's not forget the far more important issue here. Whose in the "I told you so" camp? *raises hand*
  16. The beginning of his speech would've resonated well, talking about Collingwood's history and origins as a working class club that assisted society's least fortunate. I just think he did himself a bit of a disservice with that line at the end about the gifted prince having the last laugh. It was a strange punctuation, and a strange note to leave on. But given it was to a room full of Collingwood faithful, I took some enjoyment from it.
  17. Makes sense getting Billy the kid with a steal Welcome aboard Billy.
  18. Okay Hawthorn work experience kid, NOW you can put up the video.
  19. The "other cup" is currently the Capital One Cup but generally referred to as the League Cup. I can see how a league where only 5 or 6 teams actually have any realistic chance of winning might seem like a worse trade off. but I agree that the side stories, in particular the relegation battles towards the end of the season, are what give the EPL a different dynamic. The AFL simply can't afford to become like the EPL, as without that dynamic, it will become a snoozefest. I can't see it happening, but certainly the likes of Sydney and Hawthorn are starting to look like their stay at the top could be a lot longer than we are accustomed to.
  20. The club really should warn all new arrivals about Saty.
  21. This, Jumping up and down doesn't alter the fact that he has had injuries that have affected his ability to have any meaningful impact. If he can get a good clean run at things next year, end of season 2015 will be time to make a realistic assessment.
  22. I think you're right. Chunk is going to play like a man possessed next year. Just watch.
  23. Have patience, basically. People say "offense is important too" like it's some mystery that Roos isn't aware of. Of course he is. But he believes in building blocks, with defence coming first. In the first half of the season at least, before the legs ran out of gas, that building block was put in place. Neeld spoke about a team that was "hard to play against". In the first half of the season, Roos didn't need to talk about it. He achieved it. Now it's a matter of re-enforcement. The attacking side will come, but it was always unlikely to come in the first sason under a Roos coached side that is coming from as far back as we were/are.
