It's high time that changed. Put the rodent behind bars for a few months and see if he does it again in a hurry.

You're going about that terribly. Your 4th post here was to tell a respected poster they had no football knowledge and should be embarrassed. All over the incredibly complex topic of body language on the field. Completely unwarranted. We have enough angst in this joint without you adding to it for no good reason.

How did he figure? Did Col organise a round of drinks cards the night before?

His 0.8 goal assist average would best at the club alongside Brayshaw. Averages 27 disposals but also 6.5 tackles, ranked 8th in the league. 10.2 contested possession average is equal with Vince. Against Geelong he had 33 disposals, 7 inside 50s and kicked 3 goals. And he's still only 22 years old.

Their build was textbook. Ours...was not. We are two years into ours and things are looking okay this time. I prefer not to buy into theories that place restrictions on how much the club can grow. Mistakes were made and opportunities were missed. We are still Melbourne. We carry the name of the goddamn city. Once the biggest club in the land. There are always new generations of football fans to attract. The sky is the limit as far as I'm concerned. It may take a while, but it's possible. Call me naive, but I get the feeling Bartlett and Jsckson think the same way.

Just had the weirdest sense of déjà vu, daz. From around this time last year. When everyone was saying that and nothing happened. Maybe this year will be different.

I have a fair idea how it would've gone. -
This. In 2004, Hawthorn finished second last, third last for crowds (28K), and a modest 31K membership. 10 years on they are a juggernaut. Instead of wishing and whining, let's follow their example. And hopefully surpass them.

Must admit that vision of Frawley belting out the song was vomit worthy.

Holy [censored]. Could they?
-
Gusty stuff from Freo this. Really thought the Hawks would run away with it early.
-
Lack of HTB against Mitchell a perfect illustration of how one sided the umpiring has been.
-
Mrs Mayne?
-
Do you get one of those spiral potato sticks from the market for lunch every day? I would if I worked in Freo.

I can't believe a team as ordinary as North are in a Prelim. Very poor reflection on the others who didn't make it. Sydney just imploded. I want to see West Coast break some records this weekend. Freo are a sneaky chance with the extra week off and playing at home. Important that they get a good start.

Same, and they are notorious for overrating their players. If we sign him and he comes in and performs, the humble pie will taste delicious. The impact of the drugs saga is a relative unknown in terms of the degree it has affected each individual. It may well have hit him harder than most. I'm still wary as hell. -
Not always the case, e.g. Cook. More importantly, they were held onto in an environment that wasnt far short of toxic as far as youth development goes. Different environment. Different coaching set up. IF we could get something half decent then maybe, but I just don't see that happening. Therefore you give him another year.

Thank you for highlighting one of the main things working against Toumpas with the fambase. He's come to a a club where failed first round picks has become a trademark. The patience here is a lot thinner than it would be at another club. Treat his case on its own merits. The past is irrelevant.
-
But even if he were to be a sweetener in any deal, his value is low. So he's not much of a sweetener. The argument for keeping him therefore remains the same. Given his current value, another year isn't going to do much damage either way. Imagine the razor blade shortage if we give him the boot merely to free up a spot on the list, and he goes on to excel elsewhere. Which is entirely possible. The kid has talent. It's between the ears that he seems to be struggling.
-
Your arguments are so laughably weak. You punish players for being injured ("Dawes played more games herp derp"), and you place a higher value on players who have a premiership. Mitch Morton is a premiership player. Gary Ablett Snr is not. It's a nothing argument. And knowing how your brain works, let me jump ahead and say no, I'm not comparing Pedersen to Ablett. As of RIGHT NOW, Dawes and Pedo are of very similar capabilities. Their best is very good, their worst is awful. Right now, you'd say that what Pedo has over Dawes is a greater level of consistency. Dawes ceiling on any given week is higher, but not by a lot. At the very least, being of similar age and capability, you'd hope that at any given time, one of them will be performing at or close to a level that warrants selection. It is providing healthier competition for their position over the next 12 months and is the right decision.
