  1. Will be long gone before 18/19 (or whatever mid 20s picks they end up being)
  2. Just going on whats accepted by the media, they'd know more than you or I. There won't be all the academy/NGA etc picks there are this year either, think that's generally accepted too. Mahoney himself said this years draft was heavily compromised when he traded with north last year. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-19/afl-recruiters-face-huge-challenge-to-judge-draft-prospects/12462594 Heres one example, but ive seen it in lots of articles. "every recruiter seems certain of one thing: 2021's AFL draft crop will be much better" Clubs were falling over themselves to trade future firsts last year, says a lot that only one club has this year.
  3. Had better hope we do well next year and Taylor nails these picks which will end up being well into the 20s. Next years draft is mainly uncompromised and supposedly much stronger. Telling that no other club has traded a future first.
  4. I thought they didn't rate this years draft?
  5. Higgins got North pick 30 at 33yo, surprising.
  6. Is this the guy we picked up with a 2nd rounder after trading two 2nd rounders to get that pick, and no one on the draft coverage had any idea who he was? Still know nothing about him.
  7. Pick 54, they must've wanted him gone pretty bad.
  8. We must also remember his poor 2020 season and that he's 28, uncontracted and unwanted at North. Surely Mahoney's not stupid enough to give up a first rounder. Never know with his generosity though.
  9. If daniher got 3x700k for band 1, the crouch offer must've been pretty low.

Band 1 for a 3 year deal? Doesn't sound right, but the AFL make it up as they go. Crouch will get pick 2 for sure.
  11. Fair enough, hadn't seen that before. Agree he'll go to gws.
  12. AFL site saying we spoke to him.
  13. Happy enough with this, at least he offers something, unlike Joel Smith who was bizarrely re-signed. Sign Hunt up already please too.
  14. Is hind an upgrade on anything we have already? Doesn't seem to be.
  15. Jacob Allison....wasn't he meant to be a top 5 pick in his draft year or something?
  16. TheoX replied to Lord Nev's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yuck. An elderly player on the downhill slope looking for a fat pension cheque. Hopefully not on crazy money, so we can actually re-sign our good young players, but who knows with Mahoney.
  17. If the saints pay most of his salary maybe. Otherwise don't need more injury prone types thanks.
  18. He's the dud brother isn't he? No thanks, we've got enough players that aren't good enough.
  19. Haha as if Prenderghast wanted to pick Neale.
  20. How would that work? He was uncontracted, GC didnt offer him one, they weren't trying to offload a contract, and he wasn't a FA so no compo.
  21. Doing the right thing for his health, crazy to give him a 3 year contract in the first place though when he was cooked.
  22. AFL would love the lions in the GF. Umpires are doing their best to make it happen. Pretty disgraceful, the ump with dark hair has got to be on the take.
  23. Was Phillips injured or just not getting a game? If hes on good money, they'd be keen to offload him like we are with Tmac. Would prefer him to an elderly Smith anyway.
  24. So what changed? I thought he was set to stay.
