  1. Good starting point is high heat, 3 mins or so each side. (Low fat content, so dry out easily.)
  2. Viney, McKenzie, Couch, Magner, Rodan ... not far off being a better centre line-up than what we'll have at Geelong.
  3. Ah, McLardy and Schwab on the front foot again ... ahead of the game.
  4. Unfortunately, Casey have a bye this weekend - hope it doesn't push JV's return back a week.
  5. Not exactly going out on a limb there ... it's a bit like saying Rudd or Abbott will be the next PM!
  6. Shane Valenti says hi. As does Pedersen - always stars at this level, but except for occasional flashes, can't put it together consistently at AFL level.
  7. Melbourne chief executive Peter Jackson confirmed Harrington's departure last night. "Tim's departure is not performance related. It reflects the need to reduce the overall cost of the structure," he said. "Tim has worked diligently in his role for more than four years at the club, and I'm certain he will find another productive role in the AFL industry."
  8. The revisionism didn't take long. BTW, Neeld never said it'll take 5 years. He also never said he was happy with the 5 goal loss to Brisbane - in fact, he never said he was happy with any loss, quite the contrary, he said how much a loss always hurt. And seeing so many are fans of Craig's no BS, tell it like it is approach, here's some more of what he has had to say recently: "“Mark Neeld’s done a fantastic job for this football club,” he said. “He’s done some unbelievable ground work. “My dealings with Mark, the legacy he’s left at this football club is very, very impressive.”
  9. Surely the second part of that contradicts the first? If there's no Hodge, then find the next best alternative - even if they aren't Hodges?
  10. Probably not. But this article confirms what most Adelaide supporters were saying at the time, that Neeld was on the short list: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/inside-story-of-how-the-adelaide-crows-got-their-new-coach/story-e6frecoc-1226144965873 "Trigg had taken a game-changing call 48 hours earlier from Collingwood assistant Mark Neeld. A name on the four-man short-list at Adelaide, Neeld had telephoned Trigg to say he had been offered the Melbourne job and he needed to reply to Demons chief executive Cameron Schwab within 24 hours. The tone of the call was obvious. Were the Crows prepared to offer Neeld their job? Adelaide passed on Neeld." There's nothing in that that says that the Crows wanted Neeld per se, and another article from the same paper confirms that by that Friday morning, they'd decided on Sanderson. But Neeld was on their shortlist. It will come out one day, but not in the short term. Clarkson's outright denial that he was approached - followed by the outright confirmation from his manager that an offer was indeed made - probably sums up where we all are with it.
  11. Gillies is just that - a quality VFL, mature key defender. Was very good last game at Casey (for example). Whether or not he's a quality AFL mature key defender is another question! Just to add: Pedersen: I wouldn't be writing him off yet. A couple of very good/BOG games for Casey, and got plenty of it against the Pies. Is too good for the VFL (B&F last year), but whether he can take the step up on a consistent basis? Time will tell. Sellar. Hmm. Would need a better second half of the year than what we've seen so far. Disappointing, he was far from our worst last year. Compared to what happened under BP, drafting has been stellar, especially this year. With 14 players coming in, clearly there will be some who won't make it, but that's always the case. The draftees all seem keepers, which is more than we can say for the last few years' crop.
  12. Interesting - missed most of it until it was all over. Given that this is Demonland, and no speculation can ever be too far-fetched, wonder if in fact the decision wasn't made some weeks back. Why wait? To avoid having a stand-in coach start off with two unwinnable games against Hawthorn and Collingwood. By waiting until now, at least Neil C and the boys have a sniff of a chance of a win, and if that happens, it would be a lift in confidence for the team, the club, the supporters. And not forgetting, the sponsors, future coaches, future players etc. etc. Too machiavellian? Perhaps, but desperate times call for desperate solutions. You'd have to wonder who'll be next in the FD to break out in a cold sweat on seeing "PJ" come up on their mobile.
  13. Scott Pendlebury ‏@SP_107h Mark Neeld is a class Act, he will be snapped up fast. One of the best assitant coaches I've played under
  14. Therein lies the Demonland problem. We're about the same as GWS, without the upside.
  15. Moloney, NEVER played 4 weeks in a row at Casey. He played one game at Casey in July, then another 3 games at the end of the season in August, which was almost a year after Neeld "walked through the door". This is about as accurate as your "Neeld never met Moloney one-on-one" claim.
  16. Am I allowed to say "[censored]"? If not, I withdraw having just said it. No-one defended Jurrah's actions. (I see that the word I had originally used has been automatically replaced by "censored". The Demonland software saving us from ourselves.)
  17. He stepped down from Reach last week.
  18. In a court of law, found not guilty of machete-wielding. Or of wielding anything for that matter.
