  1. Vince due for another week? Hopefully that elbow missed. Love the agression and intent, but he needs to reign it in. Or disguise it better.
  2. Great stuff. Max Gawn, after all these years, we have an A-grade ruck, and what a difference it makes. But ... on the basis of a half of footy, Petracca or Trengove for Harmes next week. On the other hand, really like Hunt. Smart footballer, we could use a few of those.
  3. Lynden Dunn. No longer feels part of where the team is heading, or the way it's playing.
  4. Think they'll give Trengove another week before considering him. He's missed a lot of footy, and the previous week's miss through concussion didn't help.
  5. Yes. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/features/partner-mother-breadwinner-the-changing-face-of-families/story-e6frg8h6-1227007577339
  6. Jones was definitely injured last weekend, and this move has been flagged all week.
  7. Petracca won't play if Garlett gets up, which he probably will. Nor ANB, but they'll take ANB as emergency. Final listed bench: Pedersen, Hunt, Kennedy, Garlett Emergency: ANB
  8. “... if Jeff is unable to get through tomorrow's main session, Christian will be a chance to debut."
  9. It's only the lack of a credible replacement that's keeping him in the team. He's been serviceable, but nothing more, and increasingly, his old fashioned, bullocking, man-on-man defending is being found out by modern football/ers. Will be interesting to see if he manages to keep his place for the rest of the season.
  10. There has been talk that Matt Jones may have an injury concern - ribs? Apparently he only walked laps at training. Could be a candidate. I don't know that I'd be dropping Hunt quite yet. I feel that he's worth persevering with, as he has that real outside speed that not many (or even any) of our other players provide, especially coming off half-back or through the middle.
  11. Wagner is too old for the Rising Star, by about 5 weeks. Turned 21 in November.
  12. Agree that Brayshaw looked a bit underdone today - though that heavy knock can't have helped. But if he can get through a match, he's too creative a player to have running round at Casey. There's no room for them/would be hard to bring them in, but Grimes and Garland didn't do their call-up chances any harm at Casey.
  13. Stats (disposals/marks/goals). 14. And to think, we could have gone close to being 4 0. Oh well, live and learn, and while the overall direction is onwards and upwards, hard to complain.
  15. Credit to our drafting team, Wagner, Bugg and Kennedy all very useful pickups - but all the youngsters are turning out well. Probably best game yet from Harmes, but we're starting to develop some real depth and selection headaches. Who do you drop from that to bring in Vince and Garlett - not to mention ANB who surely must be on the cusp after another solid performance? Petracca and Trengove ... back of the queue gents.

  17. Turnovers and skill errors are what's standing between us being also-rans and being a consistently decent team.. Will come with time and experience, but still frustrating when it happens.
  18. Someone should keep a running tally of goals to the opposition from our (simple) turnovers. Dunn!
  19. At least let's look at like for like, which brings it down to the half-backs: Grimes and Garland vs Wagner and Hunt. Based on Garland's last game at both AFL and VFL level, you'd have to put Wagner and Hunt ahead of him As for Grimes, much as he's been a loyal foot soldier, he does not have enough impact or hurt the opposition. If he plays more than a handful of game this year, I'll be surprised. This isn't about Hunt vs ANB either, as they play different positions, and are different kinds of players. Hunt is there to give us speed and penetration off half-back, something that few (if any) other players provide. Selection decisions have to go further than "A is better than B", they're also about game plan, team structure, match ups etc. The FD have obviously identified a role and a need for Hunt, so he's in. Up to him now to justify it.
  20. Sickening. Is 4 weeks enough?
  21. Perhaps it's just me, but: - for the last two game days, Demonland has been offline, sometimes for long periods. - I'm getting offline on a fairly regular basis, 2 or 3 times a week or more. Anyone else experiencing this? Have a (very) fast internet, have tried different browsers etc. etc., can't see it's my end. I thought that with the move to the new software etc, that these (server?) problems were a thing of the past? I know that many of us contributed to help cover the costs of having the site run and maintained, so I'm not sure where these ongoing problems are coming from. Comments?
  22. Whatever the outcome, it's not going to be because we selected both Frost and Pedersen. On the other hand, Vince and Garlett are big outs for us.
  23. Stretch a bit stiff, wasn't the worse, but happy to see Brayshaw and Hunt in. Going to be interesting in the coming weeks with Vince, Garlett, Petracca and presumably Trengove to come (back) in, with ANB, Stretch and maybe others knocking on the door. No room for passengers!
  24. I'd be rather partial to replacing Vince with Hunt. Not sure if he's ready yet, but starting to do some decent things at Casey. ANB strikes me as more of general purpose utility with a good tank, but Vince provides us with a lot of drive, and I'm not sure ANB has that kind of penetration to his kicking. (not sure Hunt does either, but if he can gain an extra 10m through running, we'd get the same result). An opportunity also for Tyson to step up.
