  1. I've been to a few training sessions before Christmas, and I noted how small bodied he was. Apparently he lost 6kgs since starting preseason and it was noted as a concern. After being medically assessed, he was found to have a thyroid issue which was rectified and the improved results were immediate. Hence the dramatic improvement in body shape so quickly.
  2. Harmes has looked very comfortable at the level when I've been to training. However he is young and we can keep him rookied for 2 years. But I reckon Georgiou should be given first crack at it. We should be able to work out whether this guy deserves a senior spot within 12 months.
  3. I reckon well approach these as practise matches. A chance to practise the new game plans, and also for players to familiarise themselves with each other. We won't be risking anyone with niggling soreness etc.
  4. Jack Trengove still reminds me a bit of Jimmy Bartell in playing style - and Jimmy was never 'quick'. I still think he can become a good quality, inside, strong bodied mid who is composed, uses the ball well, defends well and can creep forward for the odd goal. Inside/strong bodied mids rarely become very good until they're 24 or 25 so I'm not too worried about Jack myself.
  5. I'd rather be just practises getting the ball over and over to be honest!
  6. Improvers: Trengove Spencer Michie or Tyson Sliders Jamar M Jones Strauss
  7. Don't forget Fitz has an elite, repeat sprint ability for his height. He can make 60 metre leads back and forth from forward to the wings all game. That in itself is a huge tactical weapon. Admittedly, Dawes isn't too bad in that area either - but if Fitz develops further, he will get games onhis tactical advantage alone.
  8. Dom Tyson - integral to our future now, and with his run of injuries whilst at GWS, I actually Havnt seen very much of him yet. Jesse Hogan - because, Jesse Hogan! JKH - just pips Toumpas and Trengove (as they could effectively be new mids for us if they improve this season). JKH is showing some good early signs and I'm tipping to get some surprise early games. We are desperate for some speed and pressure in the forward half more than it has been noted, IMO.
  9. I agree - hence my use of the term 'incidentally'.I believe we've had a crack at him previously actually, and he's cemented in the best midfield in the comp so, yes, it would take a fair lump of moolah to prize him away I reckon. Agree on Frawley as well - god I hope he doesn't walk.
  10. Murphy or Boak would be nice. My favourite is Mundy though - would be a perfect fit for our midfield, and he was a Dees supporter incidentally as well.
  11. It was quoted from the Demons board on bigfooty.
  12. Uh.. have I come to the right forum??
  13. It looked like they were nursing him a little to be honest - just keeping him out of the contact stuff and doing straight line running for a little longer. He looked very fit and strong and Im not aware of anything specifically holding him back from the rest of the group. He looked slightly leaner as well.
  14. Pretty disappointed we didnt get Hannath to be honest.
  15. Absolutely. Also reminds me a lot of Paul Salmon.
  16. Big enough smile for you?..
  17. Yep. Had a fairly serious virus and although he was back and playing in the month prior to selection for the carnival, it took him quite a while to fully recover and get back to his best so he didn't get the call up. Still won the colts B&F though so I don't understand him not getting a run.
  18. It's been alluded to in a few articles that he has bigger problems than the odd smoke and beer.
  19. True - Greek background.
  20. Dont know what your problem with Greeks is - but Peter Daicos was Greek mate.
  21. Italy has a great record for good AFL players - but the Greeks have produced the same number of decent players as Croatia, and many other countries. Further to others previously mentioned; Malaxos, Demetriou, Francou, Daicos, Zaharakis.. etc etc
  22. Firstly, I would be shocked if someone bids Viney for 1 or 2 as that will throw 2 of Whitfield, Grundy and Toumpas our way. Secondly, Wines would be great for some quality around the ball, but I cant imagine him going before any of the 3 above - so taking Toumpas, Viney AND Wines may be a little too much of a similar thing. I think Toumpas will almost certainly become a Demon at the end of the year, but I doubt we'll take Wines as well.
  23. I hope we dont use pick 3 on Viney. We will get a very handy footballer at pick 3 no matter what - and any club willing to take the risk of drafting Jack Viney with pick 1 or 2 is more than firting with danger - he will always want to be traded back to Melbourne from day 1.
  24. Id be happy for us to take him on after the storm dies down.
  25. Clark, Jamar, Trengove, Viney, Frawley.
