  1. Some other decent players were pretty plagued by injuries back in those days - Prymke and G. Lovett come to mind.
  2. I found that pretty bizarre at the time.
  3. Great day to come over here! I saw the notice on the scoreboard during the game.
  4. I don't really understand your point.
  5. Links to the article & the fan site would be handy next time =)
  6. He took a few in a similar fashion last year too.
  7. RE: Rivers - Moloney's had OP and I read that he has played more than was planned because of our injuries. Disappointing to see Bartram's ETA pushed back.
  8. Netball Victoria is included so there's no reason they couldn't be.
  9. It was also advertised on the scoreboard at the 'G and probably in the AFL Record too?
  10. Does the crowd matter to us in terms of financials? I thought we got a flat rate. Do we get more on top of this? Interesting.
  11. Surely the evidence of our depth - or lack thereof - has been our performance in the first half of the season. We've had a bad run with injuries and our record stands at 2-9.
  12. A strong finish will probably help m/ship for '08.
  13. Easily Paul Johnson for me. Bell was in my starting 18 at the end of '06.
  14. I was also at the game and can remember Davey making unforced errors by foot around the middle of the ground multiple times, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't just the one error. I wouldn't label it a woeful game, but I also don't think he played quite well & just made the one noticeable error.
  15. It helped that Collingwood pretty much let us run our dual-huddle plan without sending some outriders to either side of the first huddle. It was far too easy for one of our players to break from the huddle and once they did they just kept going and the ball was put out in front of them - no hope for their opponent. Watching other games this year oppositions teams tend to sit guys outside the huddle to prevent those early breaks, but Collingwood didn't do this.
  16. For sure, Moloney's fitness woes have been pretty disappointing. When he's up and about I think he's vying for a spot in our best team but the last game I saw him play he was virtually running on the spot.
  17. Always interesting to hear where players would prefer to play. As Jaded said, he's got great hands.
  18. Ward still struggled to hit the target a few times - two occassions where he kicked it to a player but failed to hit them up on the full - but Godfrey's goal was absolutely brilliant. I was wrapped for him. As someone said Bruce's shot was indeed embarassing and Davey just turned the ball over around the middle of the ground more than I've seen him do before. Well said. Anyhow the point-scoring that goes on every single week regarding people's opinions is pretty poor. If X has a good game there's a post calling for the 'X haters' to cut themselves for their sin while if Y has a poor game then we see the opposite. Do we watch the footy for the spectacle and the team or for an opportunity to show someone on the forum up?
  19. Can anyone tell me the last time an AFL team came out in the press halfway through a season and canned their Coach?
  20. The following aren't in our best 22 - Ferguson - can't see him playing in '08 Jamar - will be a beneficiary of our lack of ruck stocks if he's on the list next year...I'd be happy to delist him Brown - on the wrong side of 30...have enjoyed watching him at times but his time is limited Miller Warnock - probably has one more year but probably not going to be a regular AFL footballer CJ - but I would like him given opportunities if his form is good enough; probably has another year up his sleeve though The five you've mentioned are in our best squad as well as Moloney - and Dunn's in the mix too.
  21. I don't think Holland will play much (as you said, he's there for particular match-ups). I'd also prefer Wheatley play along the wing, so there's not necessarily direct competition there if Wheatley gets to play a more attacking role. I think there's probably a spot for him providing he plays good footy.
  22. Someone mentioned -6 earlier in this thread. Agree on both.
  23. I imagine more people have friends who go for Collingwood than they do who go for Adelaide etc. QB is also a big event, and there's the Monday off etc - not to mention the Collingwood fan-base. I wonder how many of the 70K were Collingwood or neutral supporters. Seemed to be a fair few Demons supporters at the game though.
