  1. They may be elected, but it's not exactly the most democratic of processes.
  2. Sentence one suggests you're not one of the supporters described in sentence two
  3. I'd probably delist the following - Neville Ferguson Pickett Holland Brown Godfrey Hayes (?) //rookie Hughes (?) //rookie Take five draft picks + upgrade Bode to the senior list, and 3rd year rookie Neaves. As for trading, anyone's trade-able if the price is right.
  4. I guess Williams has only won three premierships in a row at Sandy.
  5. Dunn doesn't seem like a CHF/CHB to me. I'd like to see Bate playing as a third tall, although we might use him as an undersized CHF-type because we lack better alternatives.
  6. I heard that WCE brought the wrong jumpers recently, presumably this week. Was waiting for the posts from those who wanted to stone to death our property steward, but didn't see any.

    THE SCARE

I only caught a little bit of the game (on TV), but it seemed as if many of CJ's kicks failed to hit the target - I can recall a few dropping short. May have just been the bits I saw though.
  8. Jones said he didn't have the tank to run out games last year, so needed to slim down a little over the pre-season.
  9. That's what I said. Thanks for the life story snippet though
  10. I don't mind Garland being sent back to Sandy. However I would have given CJ another game (yes, I know), and also played Dunn.
  11. Jaded means that the decision to select them needed no brain - it's automatic, a decision requiring zero mental capacity.
  12. Not sure about Frawley, but agree re: Rivers and Bate.
  13. If I was Carroll, I'd be desperate for Riley not to get the gig for next year. No, it isn't. If they've been in the VFL all season it indicates that they couldn't get a gig in Melbourne, a team struggling at the bottom of the ladder and with substantial injuries... I'd rather see CJ play forward than Brown.
  14. When I go to the football I often see people listening to the radio
  15. Is it just me or does Nathan Brown put his hands up and start cheering as Newton is plummeting to earth? Great leap, and great mark.
  16. I agree with your underlying point regarding the weaknesses in our list. However, picking rucks in the draft is notoriously difficult. If you take a look at the AFL rucks going around these days you'll find many of them came of the rookie list etc. One likely reason for this is that rucks take much longer to develop, so it's harder to judge them on what they're like at ~17 years of age. I'd pick up a quality quick mid with one of my top picks.
  17. I acknowledge that most of these posts are in jest, but players won't go out wanting to lose. Then it comes down to selection, and it was noted by another poster that our 'best 22' in recent times has managed to concede the four points
  18. ^ For sure. That said, I'm considering going skiing for the first time ever this winter. It's a worrying development
