  1. An interesting read, and good to see the Dees getting exposure. Pretty interesting story - loved the bit where he was sneakily put into the U/18's team. Gold :D
  2. As will I. Should be okay now, too.
  3. It's certainly tough for Jones now that he's the virtually the main man, with McLean, McDonald, Moloney, etc. all missing. He certainly needs to learn how to shake a tag, and it's something he's said he's working on. As one or two have mentioned, throwing him up forward every once and again might be worth a try. :D
  4. That would have been a good experience Thanks for the info. Shame about the result!
  5. If you're not going to play McDonald, it seems strange to fly him over to Perth and back for nothing as an emergency, given that he's had a few weeks off with injury. Deanox knows that you take a standby over, but his point is that given the circumstances, it's odd we'd choose McDonald, unless there was going to be a late change - we have other guys on the list.
  6. Good on him. If I'm out that way, I'll make an effort to go there.
  7. What a ridiculous comment. Grow up. First, the staff member from MFC agrees with me - you should give him a call and abuse him, too. Second, I never said anything about whether I'd do it personally, and you have no idea how much (or little) I donate to the Club, in time and/or money (nor anything about my financial circumstances). Third, let me know where I can look around whilst walking and find more than $60 p/month on the ground.
  8. I don't think I 'need' to, no. The Club has email, and asked to be emailed. Correct. While I don't care about a lack of reply, I'm sure others may - particularly after the President pledged to have all correspondence replied to. I'm not whingeing - someone asked for people's experiences, and I've provided mine 'Its a Nightmare' created a thread to assert that of late, 'communications with the club are responded to quickly and amiably'. However, that's one experience, and I'm unsure if that can be generalised. While 'Its a Nightmare''s experiences may reflect their assertion, it's clear that not everyone has had the same experience as them (cf Deeoldfart). PS. Did you receive a quick, polite, response after using info@? I've received quality responses after contacting particular staff directly, as I mentioned.
  9. I don't. That's almost doubling the cost of a standard membership.
  10. Probably because the majority of people on here either don't know what trolling is or can't resist getting worked up anyway
  11. I didn't take it personally. However, it is poor form, especially when the President comes on national TV and asks for people to write in, promising a reply. Do you agree? While the Toorak girls gag is a good one, it's not excuse - it'd be very, very, easy to create some template responses and reply using those. Given Styne's pledge, I think it's bad business not to. However, I don't particularly care personally.
  12. I wouldn't say skill is 'above the shoulders'. While confidence etc can come into it, the 'above the shoulders' stuff is really just a moderator of your skill level. You just said he was a MFC supporter, and thus his team is now the Dees! I get your point though
  13. It would have made more sense to put the remaining 20-odd players on our list into this poll (or at least the half-decent ones). The fact that some guys were left off the other polls makes this an even better idea than it otherwise would have been. Could make a pretty handy interchance with guys that are left out - Wheatley, Dunn, Petterd, plus the second ruck (which happens to me one M Jamar). They wouldn't be far off what's selected from this group. Sure it did. Y_M asserted that High Tower would get banned if he didn't include Bruce in the 18. High Tower replied with 'incorrect'.
  14. You must be very, very, young
  15. No reply to an email I sent to info@, after the Club's member email asked supporters to email suggestions/feedback to the Club (reiterating a comment on The Footy Show made by Stynes, in which he also pledged that all would receive a reply). I mentioned it in another thread on a similar topic, and a couple of people had the same experience as me. Clearly, others have had better experiences. On the flip side, the Membership Manager this season has always responded promptly when I've contacted them directly.
  16. He's not strong enough, and I don't know that he'd be lightning quick on the lead either.
  17. You can't force guys to play if they don't feel they're right.
  18. He's a bit Ward-like at the moment - quite quick, finds the footy, but doesn't use it that well. His defensive efforts/workrate needed to improve after his first games this year, but that was something Lovell mentioned they were working on at Sandy, and it's seemed to have paid off since he's returned to the Dees side. If he can improve his disposal, he'll be a handy player - we need pace.
  19. Given Lovell's coaches report, that's not too surprising. Why's that? Do we want an extra tall? If Newton plays, it'd be better to have an extra runner at Subi. Since Bartram's listed in the 18, it'd be a departure from recent convention if he were the one to miss (unless injured). He only played 80% at Sandy, so they might not feel Petterd is fit enough yet.
  20. Comparing those rankings to clearances, disposal efficiency, and 'first possession' stats would be interesting.
  21. No one's said otherwise. It's clearly positive that he's played his best game in a month. From memory Street's huge, so it's no surprise that a guy who's a poor ruck struggled in that area.
  22. There's also the Leighoak Club and Bentleigh Club. The game's on at 4:40 (2:40 WA).
