  1. That guy is more likely to be another Brent Grgic. Rookie at best.
  2. Henderson will be a star. Maybe you don't remember him, but i remember the young CHF drafted at pick 8 from the falcons a couple of years ago that we wanted, but Brisbane snatched him first. I'd readily compare him to Josh Kennedy whom they traded away.
  3. The stadium has facilities for bars, restaurants and dining rooms but none of these are specifically for the MFC. At this stage its all offices and facilities for the players.
  4. I'm actually hoping like hell that either Tapscott or Lucas fall to us at 11... But if we have to settle for Butcher I guess I will survive
  5. And the MRS has been affectionately name the "missus" by a few involved with it.
  6. Can't remember off the top of my head and I don't have the plans on me at the moment. I don't think so specifically, but there are some non-specified or vague areas on there. Its actually quite a large facility and I remember there is space set aside for a Union team and i think also for hockey. With MFC's admin there we are certainly the major tenant. We take up about a quarter of the space there. It will mostly be on the side facing Swan St
  7. No problem. From talking to a friend who works for MOPT yesterday she also said our entire football dept would be housed at MRS and the only admin at MCG would be for things like Membership, merchandising, etc ie. Arms of the club where a 5 minute walk from where the players are won't be a major issue.
  8. No, I've got no information on the time sharing of any of the facilities. I just have the drawings showing the areas specifically designated for the MFC, also the areas for the other tenants, the Storm, Victory, etc.
  9. I actually have some plans of the MRS in my possession which clearly show areas set aside for MFC. Change rooms, gym, pool area, recovery, etc. I've been on site too and right now it won't quite be at the stage where its worth having a walk through because none of the fit-out has been done yet. It will be an elite facility. Same with the work that will be done to upgrade Gosch's Paddock. Other than the location there's not much to see yet.
  10. When the hell was that?? He has never been the type of player who I associated with that phrase.
  11. From memory one of the posters on demonland did the framing for the Liam Jurrah jumper that was sent to Yuendumu... was it joeboy? I'm clutching at straws here, but might be worth checking on that thread from a few months back...
  12. Cos with pick 18 we could still get a very good young player. You've got to weigh up the pros and cons of Ball over who you'd expect to be available at 18. I'd go for the youngster.
  13. Well I still think he'd be the first to get delisted of any players on our list that are out of contract. No signing of a contract has been announced, so I assume there is none. And I suspect we may only delist a further player if Luke Ball comes to us in the PSD.
  14. I actually thought exactly the same. I've only known one other guy ever named Arlo. No idea where it comes from.
  15. Meaningless. He's just continuing to train with the team until a firm decision is made on his future. He'd be unwise to sit out and end his chances of staying at MFC. Did you notice Valenti training earlier this month before his delisitng? If anything it may suggest his future hinges on the recruitment of Luke Ball.
  16. I don't want any of those players at the expense of a kid. But who are we going to pay $500K to make up the cap?
  17. My understanding is that he concedes its simplistic and its purely a rough guide to how the draft has been affected. What he is saying is not meant to be mathematically accurate - the very nature of the draft contains so many variables that this is impossible. You're arguing over a number of spots - does anybody really care and take it that seriously? Of course pick 34 doesn't equal pick 50, it would equal more like pick 40-55, but in the same token you could take a player with pick 34 that in a hypothetical retrospective draft you would take at pick 15. Its an accepted theory purely for ease of understanding, but nobody is stupid enough to think its that simple. Just move on... Please.
  18. So... you rate Temel but not Carlisle?
  19. You are a damn fool. You don't even know what you've been arguing about; you've just been happy to be arguing.
  20. Considering how skinny he was I hope he has fattened up.
  21. Considering you attributed the quote to me, yes there is a misquote. Naming the kids or not naming the kids will prove nothing. That you are asking him to do so proves that you haven't fully grasped the concept of the weakened draft at all.
  22. Maybe reading this article would give you a more accurate idea of how the draft is affected. http://bigfooty.com/forum/blog.php?b=783 I think it has been posted on another thread somewhere, but it relates to this too. Beyond that, I don't think anyone can help you.
  23. For how many years now have we had Valenti playing in our VFL team? I think he does offer the team some good things, but look at the things we might be losing by giving him a position in the midfield. And he can't play anywhere else on the field.
  24. Only if we can get Ball. Otherwise I'd rather pick 34.
  25. I've got to agree with this post. Valenti unfortunately for him is a known quantity and he just doesn't meet the physical requirements of AFL, or rather, the good parts of his game aren't good enough to compensate for his shortcomings. I'd choose to roll the dice on a player like Bail every time. Endeavour is a great thing, but it will only get you so far in this game. This might sound really harsh, but does Valenti remind anyone of "Rudy"?
