MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 11
dees189227 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well happy to see Dawes back to give Hogan a hand up forward. Obviously rapt to see Jack back and Vanders just gives us that bigger body in the midfield. Frost can help Gawn with the ruck and happy to see Oliver back. I feel sorry for Dunn though. I mean a couple of seasons ago he stayed loyal and signed with the club, I know he hasn't been great this year but Id have him before Oscar this week against the hawks. -
Jack Trengove @jtren9 2m2 minutes ago Dreams do come true! Thanks to all who have been in my corner. Its just the start of an exciting journey ahead! Cant wait to see him run out on the g on saturday

I am so excited about his return. Even more excited than seeing Petraaca and Oliver debut. Just because of what Trenners has been through. Just reading through his presser and it was great that both Roosy and Jones told him he was going to play he said It's been 797 days since he last played. Wouldn't it be great to see him kick a goal and see all the boys get around him. Look I dont think we will win but nothing would surprise me if we did but Im just rapt to see Jack out there. Just hope he gets through the game and has fun. Nice photo to.

They also said on 7 that Garland may miss 2 or 3 with his cheekbone.

Stevo tweeted Believe Viney hand injury happened a few minutes before tussle with Ebert ... Played out game with it Arrghhh we have hawthorn, collingwood sydney then the bye then the crows. Christ now we dont have our hard nut midfielder who has been great. Im shattered and we are stuffed. It will fall back on Jones again.

Yeah but still a massive loss this weekend especially coming up against the hawks. Dam it. Wonder if other clubs now know how to put him off his game by niggling him and getting his focus off the ball. But people over the weekend kept saying he should get off. But not a great thing for a leader to do especially with the team we are playing this week. Jordan Lewis got cleared for his headbutt by the way. But I think Jack will be disappointed he got sucked in and got a week.

next week should we sit bugg on mitchell and just tell him to annoy the hell out of him and follow him
-
love to see the dogs knock over the pies.

wow just tuned on the radio and heard the Carlton geelong score. Then read that murphy has been off since the 1st quarter. Brendan Bolton is doing the right things with that group. Obviously a good teacher. It would be a massive upset.

I will be so annoyed if adelaide loses tonight. Even though we didnt play like a top 8 team today we have shown this season we can play good football adn todays stupid loss could have stopped us from being in the 8 again. I will say it again. That essendon loss will come back to haunt us. Next 3 weeks is a huge test for the club and I hope we can stand up against these good clubs, more thinking hawthorn and sydney.

Garland could have a cracked cheekbone according to roos. So can you get reported for accidently throwing your elbow back and doing that damage? Roos: I've got to take responsibility for not making more changes for this week. We spoke about it at match committee Sounds like he may think that decision this week and may make a few.
-
Roos: We were terrible defensively. Young guys get energised by scoring but top defensive teams win premiership It's true. Its great scoring goals but we also need to crack down on the defence. Once we scored today they seemed to easily get a goal a minute later.
-
O Macdonald out Dunn in. We are playing the hawks. At least Dunn is experienced. They will tear Oscar apart. Dawes has to come back to give us another target up the ground and help Gawn in the ruck. Bring in Trenners for Kennedy or Kent.

There is no way port are a 7 better goal team than us. Its the same stuff as it awlys is when we lose. Don't man up hard enough, the opp players get the ball to easily, to many easy goals in there 50 today they just had loose players there all the time to get the ball over the back. At times we couldn't even hit a player 30 metres out on the chest, poor handballing and missing easy shots at goal. I know it's still a ground with goal posts but geez I now believe we have to ditch this NT deal. We cannot win over there. Its costs us 8 points a season with the darwin one as well and todays crowd was 5146. We would have got close to 30,00 today. And im also sick of our club bringing players back into form. A few people mentioned Dixon would star today and he did. Again all year he hasnt done much but fires today. The next 3 weeks we play hawthorn, collingwood and sydney. Geez we could suddenly fall down that ladder.
-
all right off to watch it. Hopefully come home after a great win
-
what did he do?
-
are they easy goals we have missed?
-
looking at the stats on the afl site viney, vince and tyson havent had much of it.
-
im yet to get near a tv, is there a good crowd there?
-
He has been great for our club. Has stayed out of trouble and been good on the field. Good news. Plenty of goals today would be nice.
-
Well Im going to watch it at my local club and im confident we will win, but you can never be sure. Hopefully Max can get back to his good form and its good to have Jetta back. Hope our midfield just dominates and we get a good win.
-
It's not this season past seasons especially last year I noticed it as well. Many times Jack leads and gets ignored. So obvious yesterday when Hogan didn't kick it to him in the square. Jack is a beautiful user of the ball and I just feel so confident when he has the ball in his hands.

Salem lost 6-8kgs last time, recurrences pretty rare, melbourne hope short term, can sometimes take 3-6 months 2 retweets0 likes Reply Retweet 2 Like More tweet from tom brown. No wonder he probably found it hard to run out games or get involved. Probably had no energy. Geez poor guy. By the way how come we are finding this out from a journo and not the club?

Thankgod we have already played GWS this season and beaten them. They are turning into a fast scary team.
-
If that was any other team we were playing we would have been thrashed. That 3rd quarter was just terrible and we went back to over hanballing. However we did win by 10 goals and in the last quarter we played much better. The good thing was we had good players down and the young ones stood up. We got the 4 points still sitting 9th and got a bit more percentage. Look forward to port next week.
