Did anyone see Neale Daniher's speech to the Melbourne players that they showed after the footy last night on 7? I just found part of his talk here. It's interesting to see during the week when he spoke to collingwood and essendon he was joking around having a laugh but when he spoke to the Melbourne players and apparently the whole Melbourne staff were told to come in and listen, he was all serious and spoke about taking our opportunities and about why not. He said why not take our opportunity this year and have success. Why can't you go on and be premiers. Spoke about the last premiership being in 1964 and said its time for us to win it. You could just see the look in the players eye especially Jonseys that he gets it. Gee if that doesn't motivate the boys Im not sure what will. Neale is just amazing. You think after each Queen's birthday you are never sure if Neale will be around the following year but he is still fighting on. I think it's great for any 1st year player this year hears Neal speak and learn from him.

Lever is apparently on talking footy tonight

I heard Jake say on radio today he will be fine. I take his word. I guess it's whoever the coach decides will replace Lever as the only change I see. I better not hear from any melbourne or collingwood player that this is our grand final. At least with watts at port we don't have to hear the watts timeline again. Well Brayshaw wouldn't have gone pick 3 if they didn't think he had the talent. Maybe we are just shocked that one of our early picks is actually a good player. Because over the years some have been duds. Gus isn't arrogant. He just believes in himself and his football.

Just got home from the game. We played well after that 1st quarter. We did what he had to do. Shut down the dogs. We held them to only 4 goals after 1/4 time to ours 13. Tommy and Jess are becoming fantastic having them up there together. They work so well together. Jetta wow what a reliable underrated defender he is. He was just awesome today. Maxy was great except his goal kicking. Just fix it Max and you will be the complete player. Loved the game from Gus, clayton and happy to see Jones kick a goal at an important time to. Viney gets another game into him. Yes the Lever injury hurts but someone will step up to take that role and our backline is pretty stable at the moment. Fristch went back and took some great marks.
