  1. yep I noticed that too.. I was thinking surely NJones could at least have a jog over to the other 2 huddles and give the players a bit of a rev up, even as a token display of giving a stuff.. at that stage it wasn't out of the question that we could do a GWS and storm home to take the match
  2. hugely symbolic moment: after Strauss kicked that nice goal, a few blokes went to him to celebrate, Garland was on one knee doing up the laces on his boot, 3 or 4 teammates crashed into/stepped over him as they were celebrating - just thought it summed everything up nicely, there was no sense or care for your teammates, there was no awareness as to what was going on, there was stupidity, there was clumsiness and it was embarassing.. even the way they celebrate screams ineptitude
  3. 2 weeks ago I asked what everybody's number was in counting how many NQRs we had in that week's 22.. the result was the same number I had voted - 8 I look at today's side and I count 11.. that can't be a good sign no idea what to expect today, anything from a 40 point loss to an 80 point win
  4. what a huge day in the life of this young man it is really just dumb luck that both captains are injured and he has been elevated, meaning he leads to side out as a sole captain.. although i'm sure he is aware that everybody knows he belongs there he really has earned this moment the hard way now as the club leader, with the club against the ropes, he faces the brilliant Ablett opposite him in the midfield he would be as determined as he has ever been to put in a good one today and I'm sure he will PS I'm with you Ron, keep him on as a third captain when the Jacks return for sure
  5. I would suggest that the easy option is writing-off a new coach who has a problematic list and 28 games at the helm, hoping some other bloke can immediately turn lemons into lemonade
  6. otherwise known as a statement of pure fact
  7. according to stuie Neeld was responsible for 9/11
  8. so in other words you concede that your whinge re Toumpas was actually unfounded
  9. can you at least wait and see if he is named. It might be just Dawes and Davey for the skippers and then you'll have no old spuds in, no young players dropped, and maybe, just maybe nothing to whinge about? and BTW why do some people still have this determined attitude of 'play the kids'.. that has been our policy for the last 5 seasons and that hasn't worked out too well has it
  10. sometimes reading a thread all i hear in my head is RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE
  11. you'll notice that the insults only go to the ridiculous, unreasonable club-bashing/anti-Neeld posts somebody has to say something
  12. tell me more about the four superstars you have named. This Toumpas bloke is 18 and has done naught at Casey right?
  13. i just think it is very arrogant and ignorant for people the sit at their keyboards and slag off Neeld based on the selection table. There is a lot of information and a lot of factors that influence these decisions and we here are not privy to the majority of it. In this particular instance it is obvious that Magner is no star and therefore there are a number of good counter-arguments NOT to bring him in. I just wish more people would get behind the club instead of automatically getting in its face with every little things happens. Look at the captaincy thread for example.. a few days a go 'Neeld would never do this good idea' today its 'can't believe Neeld did this dumb idea', whatever happens he just gets cooked here unfairly. BTW I am not related to him :D
  14. haha always something new from the land of the jellyfish, today's delusion is that Neeld fails to recognise the superstar that is James Magner
  15. those comments from Neeld mirror just about exactly what I have been saying the last few weeks. This is not some lame attempt at 'i told you so' because i know this place is full of those who disagree with both Neeld and myself, therefore 'i told you so' is not in fact an enviable position to be in at all! Furthermore I couldnt give a toss what most of you think about whether my posts are right or wrong! What I am basically saying is that I am on board with what Neeld is trying to do as demonstrated in these quotes of his. I can't disagree with anything he says in these comments, in particular "let’s enjoy the journey and get on board with these young boys." although it is nothing particularly profound, that would be the main thrust of what I am trying to say, is that there IS something there to work on, Armageddon has not arrived, and the best thing we can do as passionate supporters is get behind them instead of potting everything about them at every chance, that is what the media is there for. There is a bit of hope with this side, the first 2 weeks of this season hit us all very, very hard, but I for one feel we have advanced significantly since then and only have further room for improvement. Have faith, have patience and above all, lend your support.
  16. agree with that also, momentarily neglected him, he would be in my best 22
  17. oh really yeah i'm sick of seeing dane swan and gary ablett languishing at Casey get real
  18. I'm with you, I believe we should be aiming for stability as priority one - to this end we should be making as few changes as possible every week. When Jamar, Watts and Clark are fit bring them back in, but apart from that leave it alone for a bit.
  19. yeah but the jellyfish have no doubt that pick 88 would have unearthed the next riccuito
  20. when you talk about 6 years ago, you are talking about Daniher being succeeded by Bailey. How does that have anything to do with Neeld whose senior career is 28 games long? Bailey had his 4 years and did not get very far at all. What is worse is that he in no way left a solid bedrock for Neeld to work with. This has just meant more turning over of players, so we have stayed a young group with no experience of each other. None of this is Neeld's fault. To what extent is it Neeld's responsibility for the lacklustre results we have been getting from high draft picks in Watts, Sylvia, Morton, Trengove and even Frawley - these are the same players they were before Neeld arrived. When he has had 4 years of his own methods and there is still no product, then we can start to tire of excuses, at this stage he deserves more patience. We can't just keep replacing coaches until one of them takes a bag of lemons and immediately makes lemonade, because this will never, ever happen. secondly, for those like yourselves who are fed up and intent on placing it all on Neeld's shoulders, you still have to ask what you are supposedly achieving with this constant bleating at whatever he does
  21. Yes, because you managed to put words together in a cohesive sentence. This time I just thought the content was manure.
