  1. really? I want a hell of a lot more than that
  2. This I like. We have been consistently winning our fair share of the ball AND getting it forward enough.. just need to find a way to get it through the sticks
  3. Yeah good point sue, I take it back, McLEan, Gysberts, Pederson all huge MFC success stories how did I miss that fact FMD
  4. If that's our forwardline the AFL will immediately launch another tanking investigation
  5. yeah but we used pick11 to get Gysberts, which we traded for Brock McLEan, who we used pick 5 to get so Pedo is a top 5 draft pick basically
  6. I cannot believe my eyes I suppose this will be about 10 weeks, drip-fed to us 2 weeks at a time Right after his best ever game
  7. totally agree - I think that over the last 2 weeks just about all have us have identified with a terrible feeling - that yes, we have made some progress, but we are still so far off the mark, and how exactly are we going to make up any more ground after everything that has already changed...? Well the players, particularly the likes of Jones who have years and years of beltings, must be feeling that about 10 times as hard as we are. How do you generate belief with such baggage hanging over your head.. and having half a side in is just really, really bad timing. Possibly losing your big name forward permanently is just a disaster. The thing that scares me to death is that it won't be long before we are up against a 100-point loss threat, which will just kick everybody in the guts. The other clubs, the media, they'll be all over us again, and pressure will start to go on Roos. It remains to be seen if we are a problem even he can fix, and I certainly can't see much progress with one of the worst injury lists you could imagine. I am just praying that there is a bunch of fine-tuning to be done by the coaches, as we get more match experience, and that there will something in the same hemisphere as our best 22 on the field sometime in the near future. Tough times as usual. Hmmm.
  8. it's also in direct contradiction to what absolutely everybody has been saying about his presence around the club this is what happens when we continue to fail. fingers just start getting pointed in every direction
  9. remember when Clark had 4 goals at quarter time against GWS before getting injured life was sweet for about 20 minutes
  10. I swear it has gotten way worse than it used to be - how many dollars are being thrown around in trying to manage these 'elite sportsmen' who seem to be made out of crepe paper, are all these so-called experts in sports science making any difference whatsoever, I would hate to see the state of our list without them, half of demonland would be taking the field. It is the same every single year and I have had enough, honest to God, along with the pathetic rabble that umpiring has become it is turning me away from the sport.
  11. what does that actually mean, this is all very odd
  12. are you kidding me? I don't ever want to see him play anywhere else
  13. Trengove, Sylvia, Watts and Cale Morton were supposed to become these players but of course they didn't. Don't know why anyone would expect the next crop to be any different.
  14. They said he was in contention for round 1, then we are told minimum 8 weeks? Obviously Mitch Clark is going to miss games that he is indeed physically fit for, and he is genuinely the most important player in the side bar none, and it IS going to cost us wins. To me it is shocking that everyone seems to be so accepting of this.
  15. It's the same every year, when we are rubbish in the preseason and everyone makes out like it doesn't matter, and then of course, it ends up mattering. I am just about the only person who said we would lose last night, because there is/was no way to kick a winning score and losing to the hawks by 110 was a terrible omen. There are a LOT of people living in dreamland at the moment
  16. I think it is called for. We as members pay up so the club can dish out big contacts so that we can watch our team win games of footy. It's very simple. I don't like being told excuses as to why we have to continue to endure nothing but losses when we supposedly have the best in the business working for us. Absolutely sick of it.
  17. what perspective? There is no reason to suggest we will getter any better than what we saw last night which should mean going winless for the year. Even GWS has already beaten Sydney, leaving us exposed for the wooden spoon. Can you imagine if we were playing the Hawks last night, we would have lost by 110 just like we did 2 weeks ago. Dawes and Clark are going to kick about 3 goals between them for year so where are the rest going to come from? We have Pederson named at FF that is where we are at. Here's the scary thing: Jones, Watts, Tyson, Vince and Grimes got an average of 30.4 touches each. Together they helped us to 47 inside-50s, which is nearly an average amount. If that's all you knew about the game you would assume we kicked 13-14 goals and probably won, but we kicked SIX. So go ahead and give me some 'perspective' and convince me how we are going to improve. I'm guessing that come round 22 you'll be talking about how we might have won a game for the year if only poor old Mitch had cheered up and played a game.
  18. after 5 minutes we had 2 goals. Four more were kicked for the entire night, which is a disgrace. When you go into a match with no possible way of kicking a winning score, you really have to shed a tear for poor old Mitch Clark - he must be feeling really sad as he watches it on his big screen TV with his leather sofa from the luxury property that he owns. Hope he has his feet up and is nice and comfy so he doesn't feel so sad. Maybe Roos can find the time to give him a call and ask him very nicely if he can play full-forward, I don't know if those type of phone calls are part of the scope of services for a master coach who makes $70k a week though. Clearly we are reaping the benefits of paying the big bucks for the best people available. sorry for that super sarcastic rant, I am furious.
  19. so what time are we all meeting at the Westgate bridge if this all goes pear-shaped again>?
