  1. what's the context? There are 30,000 people who watch a goose of a club fail on a weekly basis and we are now being told our number 1 talent is just walking away.. yet we are all supposed to be so kind and understanding about it. Eff that, I am furious.
  2. why wasn't Frawley dropped then, or Howe? I don't know how serious you can be as a coach if you tolerate peahearts not trying
  3. "What is known is any decision will be what’s best for Clark and not what’s best for Melbourne." Well that's just bloody wonderful to hear isn't it Unbelievable
  4. was anyone else hoping to see Frawley's name in the outs? looks like Roos is not going to buck the ongoing trend of auto-selecting senior players with pea hearts
  5. nope if we were a top 8 side and Trengove was playing like Cotchin you'd be calling him a great leader. You have no other frame of reference for assessing his leadership qualities or otherwise. Explain to me how exactly you have arrived at this conclusion, have you been wiretapping training sessions or something
  6. revisionism again Grimes, Trengove and Toumpas were all captains of their sides when they were drafted.. obviously they are/were considered to be leader types and it was more than reasonable for our recruiters to assume that they would develop into that role in the AFL arena also - you simply CANNOT suggest the club has overlooked the requirement for getting leaders in, wtf else are they supposed to do? The real issue is that we just stink as a side, and all these kids have looked terrible as a result.. and regular joe 6-pack can't make the distinction between a good player and a good leader, if you are a Trengove and you stink on-field you automatically get labelled a bad leader. Meanwhile if you are a gun like Selwood or Pendlebury or whatever you are automatically a good leader, it is absolutely idiotic mentality
  7. overawed by the giant of football that is Mark Neeld
  8. Are you sure it wasn't 'Mediocre List' there is that and there's 'Complete and Utter Spud List' which is substantially longer
  9. he is at the wrong club, we don't deal with a-graders a-graders do not exist at clubs perpetually in the bottom 3
  10. He could start with hanging on to uncontested chest marks instead of faceplanting and somersaulting like you might see a 5 year old do if he was attempting to mark a football, you know, show some indication that he makes several-hundred $K a year and trains basically every day as an elite sportsman.. that would be a start.
  11. No messing around on AFL.com, let's start sinking the boot in hard and fast BTW who saw this moment, Howe was going for an uncontested mark inside 50 and that's how he ended up Only at Melbourne do you see this garbage, you wouldn't see it in a junior footy match
  12. The difference between us and the Eagles is that they took Masten at 3 and we took Morton at 4, look at what the respective clubs did with developing that talent, tells you everything you need to know.

  14. all he did was state the facts PS we didn't win last week.. another fact for you
  15. he looked at the stats sheet, saw a zero in the tackles column and decided to focus on that - instead of what intelligent people do, and look at the impact he had on the match - which was his best ever and our BOG as stated by Roos himself.
  16. I don't know why but all those things seem cool with me, wearing a dead guy's skin doesn't!
  17. no change is always a good thing, IMO. Over the last few years, because we have had so many coming and going from the club, so many injuries and just the rotating of players in as a reaction to always getting flogged, we have had no chance at fielding a side that has familiarity and stability playing alongside each other. If we can deliver again the amount of disposals and inside 50s we have been getting, we have to be some sort of chance.. something 'out of the box' has to happen up forward though, I wonder what Roosy has in mind.. big week for Howe and Fitzy. Can I just add that apart from all the doom and gloom myself and others have been spouting this week, I am genuinely excited about going to footy games again, which has not been the case the last few years. Tyson and Vince in particular are already two of my favourites to watch, and Watts in the middle is a delight.
  18. If you are suggesting that our injury issues are 'on par' with the rest of the competition you are completely mistaken. It is not an exaggeration to say we have had about 6-7 players missing from our best 22 for about 3 years straight. That is NOT a common scenario at other clubs. I wouldn't call it 'hate' either.. we come here to talk footy, and we all want to club to win.. so if we have players out there that we feeel are holding us back of course we are going to comment on it. Would you reallly come to this site if everybody was just going 'we lost again! this is great! the players have my full support!' of course you wouldn't, so I think you need to analyse your own comments because they don't make sense.
  19. take your own advice and look at the FACTS, cheerleaders like yourself with your positivity have not done much for the club as we enter out 8th consecutive year of sucking
