  1. Watts officially lost me today. I've talked him up a lot and in his last 5-10 matches there have been some good signs, but god he was bad today In his mind a tackle means putting your hand on a bloke's arm as he waltzes past you, absolutely pathetic
  2. lol what should have been 60 against a very poor opposition
  3. - a dismal second quarter cost us the game, however 8 points was flattery. we were awful. Against hawthorn it would have been 20 goals - tyson and watts were pathetic. McDonald was uncharacteristically pantsed - can anybody stick a tackle that actually stops his opponent from disposing of the ball? - how many years do we have to watch a pathetic result from kick-ins both in defense and offense? - our ability overall to take mark even under the slightest pressure was non-existent - the umpiring sucked, the pinnacle of which was gifting ablett a free inside 50 while the game wa still alive - N.Jones and Viney were good - Frawley, Dawes, Grimes, Howe and Vince were OK. The other 15 were rubbish. - McKenzie sucks hard. - extremely frustrating game to watch, hated every minute of it, cannot see at this stage where any improvement is coming from
  4. well said Viney is very promising indeed, seems to have some tricks around the contested ball that could end up putting him a rung ahead of his esteemed predecessor, Nathan Jones. He seems to not only be able to win the hard ball but win it and cleanly escape with it Makes a big impact on the play for a 15-gamer, and he doesn't even see much of it yet. Can't say we have seen as much promise so early from many (if any) other of these high draft pick kids that have come through in the last 4-5 years. Although having said that, I remember C.Morton looked very good early!
  5. Iron Mike Tyson has also been quiet the last 2 after a very good first 2
  6. if we win by about 22 points and adelaide, richmond, sydney and the saints get done (entirely possible) we will move to 11th on the ladder win the following week we'll be in the 8 juuuuuuuuust dreamin' away here
  7. There was 4:44 remaining when Dawes bombed it, we were down 22-8. So you're wrong. Um no, one has nothing to do with the other. I am talking about last week if you can read... and also this has already been discussed above before you presented it as your own argument What are you dense or something, the difference between 25 and 39 is 14, not 6. That is getting smashed. That is 64% less than the worst team in the comp at clearances. That is with our full strength midfield. That is not good. Yeah well Carlton played finals last year and now they are on the bottom aren't they smarta55 so don't you think that the change in a result just might be a reflection on them, not us? Such a wanky thing to say. I've stated that last week's game was not really much to hang our hats on and there is going to be more pain to come, you've decided to find a way to disagree with everything I've said, so that must mean that by extension you think we are in fact a wonderful new side and we are going to win at least a dozen games. Otherwise you would be a turd that just picks arguments with people for no reason, right? So let us know, how many wins are you predicting? From now on I don't want to hear from you because you are a rude, contrary bore.
  8. nicnat's played 92 games and he averages 4.5 kicks a game, that is an absolute disgrace, has to be the lowest in the competition yeah superstar
  9. obviously we all loved a badly needed win last week BUT we have to be realistic about what it actually means going forward. Last week we were exceptionally fortunate that Carlton were only 2 points up at quarter time, they really dominated the first 20-25 minutes but weren't able to put it on the board. As Roos made sure to stress in his presser, they kicked 7.16, which really cost them the game. We were beaten in disposals and inside-50s and smashed in the clearances 39-25. On top of that our opponent is/was just no good! They are 0-4 with an average 6 goal loss. That's why all the talk has been about Carlton, I don't think anyone seriously thinks we have turned any sort of corner. We've had some injury issues but the reality is now that Viney, Dawes and Jordie are back, we are at almost full strength.. Jamar and Garland and the zero-gamer Hogan are all that are missing now that Mitch Clark is just a memory. Trengove wasn't even in the 22. In reality having 3 blokes out of your best 22 is pretty much par for the course so we can't really expect field a side stronger than the one we just fielded. We played GC at home in R7 last year and got done by 10 goals. I know that's obviously a very pessimistic view of what might happen on Sunday and the rest of the year but unfortunately I think it is accurate. I'll be there though, that's for sure.
  10. 'you can bet your money they'll take a look at that' trying to argue that Kent raised an elbow while being tackled, which he obviously did not.. yeah good one zempilas you [censored]
  11. very start of the match, they're rabbiting on about how it was uncharacteristic from the co-captain jones, needs to redeem himself, he won't be happy with himself etc etc.. then the replay FINALLY reveals that it was in fact Spencer who gave away the free and Cross who gave away the 50.. and when this was clear they didn't even bother correcting themselves. Pack of utter dheads.
  12. i remember some media p-ick (having the audacity to) ask Bailey about Watts v NicNat -and bailey said that the comparisons are going to go on for their whole career, and cited Ball/Judd/Hodge as an example - obviously Bails was completely right, NicNat started in front due to an inflated depiction by the media but at this moment Watts is clearly the better asset, i'd wager any coach would pick watts first if choosing a side tomorrow, but there is 6-7-8 years to go before it is decided
  13. Rubbish As others have already pointed out, Watts has copped plenty on here If you don't think there is a MASSIVE difference between the reality of the performances of Watts/NicNat and the way they are presented by the media you have rocks in your head, simple as that and yes we get angry and frustrated by things that affect this club because we care about it, sorry about that
  14. I have been saying it since day one Against us the other day Bruce Tossavaney was saying how important he had been and he'd had about 3 touches in a side that was up 50 to nothing Watts is by far the better player and has copped 100 times the criticism.. even when he does something good there is a comment about how 'maligned' he is , when he performs better than most top 10 draft picks that are running around today... It's absolutely infuriating
  15. why would anyone be pushing for us to include young high draft picks who have not earned their spot yet - that is what we have been doing for 7 years and it has resulted in complete disaster. Roos seems to be taking a more sensible approach and thank God for that. Furthermore, it is unwise IMO to drop two blokes after a good win like that, we need some consistency and stability in our side as it has been lacking for years.
  16. I don't have any basis at all for including Salem and Toumpas
  17. Because we haven't won in like a year I couldn't resist counting this one up in the old 10-9-8-7-6-5 method I used to do at demonology 371 - N.Jones 335 - J.Frawley 310 - T.McDonald 160 - J.Grimes 146 - J.Spencer 132 - R.Bail 128 - J.Viney 123 - D.Cross 60 - M.Jones 48 - C.Dawes 25 - L.Dunn 12 - C.Pederson 5 - D.Kent
  18. T.McDonald N.Jones M.Jones J.Frawley R.Bail J.Viney Apologies: JKH, C.Dawes, D.Cross, J.Grimes, J.Watts
