  1. ok cool 4 wins 'me no happy' no further insight required
  2. I can only imagine that the players' attitude must have been unprofessional and disrespectful of the club to evoke such a response Have you played much footy? I always found that fire and brimstone gets better results than hugs and kisses
  3. Yeah and if we lost the best 22 in a plane crash it still wouldn't matter would it, makes no difference who is actually out there on the field, right?
  4. yeah but if you just look at the wins column and say '4' like a child would, disregarding the FACT that we could just as easily be on 10 wins 7 losses, and the FACT that we could have expected as much as 100 goals from Clark and Hogan combined this year, you are looking at the question through a lens of sheer stupidity. It is not a 'terrible year' at all - it bothers me that the depth to which some people around here analyse what is going on is through a cursory glance at the ladder and a Neanderthal-like response of 'me not happy'.
  5. YES I REMEMBER - he got tackled. He was awarded a free kick for in the back. He bounced straight up and disposed of it. That is all that happened on that day. Why do people talk about it as if he was confined to a wheelchair for life, it really pizzes me off
  6. our defence is 6th-8th in the comp but our offence is putrid. Bit of a coincidence we lost Clark and Hogan at the start of the year. Had that not happened we would probably be about 9th on the ladder so don't get all preachy on us
  7. well eff him and anyone else that has/is contributing to our pizzweak culture - a culture that has us gone 50 years without success. I hope Viney gets them all by the throat and that they are sent packing if they don't walk the line
  8. We should win this. The boys will be angry about the number of games they have let slip, and up against a 'less polished' mob they will hopefully turn it on. Please God can we be up and running from the first bounce and not play catchup footy again. Dawes needs to lift, what he's been doing is simply not enough in the last month or so - needs to actually mark a football occasionally and not miss set shots from the 30 metre or less range.I still wait patiently for a four quarter effort from Watts too.
  9. are you suggesting that we come this football discussion website and not discuss football
  10. and definitive, certain statements from people who have no insight or authority to make such statements
  11. FWIW I just did the ladder predictor, penciling us in for the 2 wins, and all the other results 'as expected' and we finish 15th 6 wins, with percentage up about 25%, and 6 close losses - that's a huge return from the train wreck of last season and draft picks 4+5 to play with BTW, had we manged to won all those close wins and finish on 10 wins that would have been equal 9th on wins
  12. I think a lot here overrate the top sides in terms of the quality of their lists, I posted this recently: Average 2014 AFL Fantasy Score Per Game rankings: MFC AVE 81 29 jones 56 vince 81 cross 86 tyson Sydney (AVE 32) 5 Kennedy 30 McGlynn 36 Parker 40 K.Jack 49 Hannebury Hawthorn (AVE 50) 20 Lewis 44 Smith 47 Hodge 64 Shiels 74 Mitchell Geelong (AVE 35) 3 Johnson 19 Selwood 33 Bartel 55 Stokes 65 Duncan Freo (AVE 53) 8 Barlow 21 Fyfe 57 Mundy 77 Sandilands 100 Hill Those 4 clubs between them have 13 players in the top 50 versus our 1 (NB 50 players is basically the top 10%) So they have 3 each versus our 1 in reality Everyone seems to overlook the fact that every individual in a good side appears better than he is because of the quality around him - I have no doubt if Watts was at one of these clubs he would be an excellent player, our lack of functionality often stymies players and makes them look god awful
  13. what a font of knowledge and wisdom you must be
  14. good effort, agree largely with your rankings we need to bring in, or develop, about another 10 players who are B-or-higher, and amongst the group with need a couple of As I really think Roos can engineer that task.. Tyson, Viney, Watts (still!) and Hogan are very good chances, Salem and Kent outsiders we are actually not that far off , a few more solid imports like the 3 we got this year, couple of high draft picks, and some young talent developing in the sheds already I think at the end of 2016 things will be looking pretty good
  15. We were robbed of it last week by the umpires. That would have been a heartening victory for everyone.
  16. Viney is our 5th highest, he would be around #150 - our average for our top 5 is #81 Sydney (AVE 32) 5 Kennedy 30 McGlynn 36 Parker 40 K.Jack 49 Hannebury Hawthorn (AVE 50) 20 Lewis 44 Smith 47 Hodge 64 Shiels 74 Mitchell Geelong (AVE 35) 3 Johnson 19 Selwood 33 Bartel 55 Stokes 65 Duncan Freo (AVE 53) 8 Barlow 21 Fyfe 57 Mundy 77 Sandilands 100 Hill
  17. what that be the rating system that has Jones outside the top 100 and Tyson at about 370? That's obviously a ridiculous system, whatever it is. I prefer Average 2014 AFL Fantasy Score Per Game rankings: 29 jones 56 vince 81 cross 86 tyson
  18. another spoon will be the third in 8 years 14th 16th 16th 12th 13th 16th 17th ?? whatever happens it's the bottom 5 for 8 consecutive seasons holy sheet that is depressing
  19. you can certainly do worse than fill the MFC with Cats and Swans personnel from the last decade
