  1. They KPF issue is the biggest issue - I'm tipping Clark will back! Cannot allow too much on the young shoulders of Hogan. If it's a no-go for Clark I reckon we will pull some strings with our high picks and lure somebody over. Either way we should have 3 genuine targets instead of one which has been the chief reason behind our ladder position. We've reduced our scores against massively but actually gone slightly backwards in scores for. Inside-50s and general quality of entries has not been great, but if there's nobody down there to kick it to what hope do we have of a score. Must be rectified immediately as a priority.
  2. Jones to become just the sixth player in 80 years of the award to win 3 or more and the only player to win 3 on the trot, apart from Big Jimmy who did it in 95/96/97. He's also finished 2nd, 4th and 5th in his 9 years at the club. Tyson as a 32 gamer looks sensational and should definitely finish second, he'll probably end up with 3 or more blueys himself by the end of the journey
  3. The Saints are about 230 points behind us for percentage and they won't win another so they have 18th spot sewn up. If we beat GWS we'll finish 16th, if we don't, 17th.
  4. Fair enough, but obviously BP and every other recruiter in the game was well aware of Neville Jetta, he went at number 14, while we took Scully and Trengove at 1 and 2 - there is no way in hell anyone would have used 1 or 2 on Jetta, so any kind of finger pointing at the club is totally absurd. It's the same for blaming them for Morton and others, we did exactly what every club would have done so the point is totally moot.
  5. there is a zero percent chance if you want to start getting your hopes up just focus on a loss by under 100 and call that your target I'm not even being a drama queen this is gonna be BAD
  6. this carp again from now on we should ignore our professional recruiting team and have in depth conversations with players' mothers, that's where the gold is buried FMD
  7. That will be the margin after about 6 minutes. Happens every single time against quality opposition.
  8. I think we'll lose by about 90, could easily be 120+ if we completely drop our bundles when down by 50 at half time
  9. Yes his match review was extremely positive
  10. fair enough. I just remember thinking after the game that we had been easily accounted for and I haven't seen another situation where we matched it with the best (unless you count Port, twice)
  11. they (the 'shouldabeen' scores) ARE the ones that matter you are obviously one of the many geniuses around here that think losing by a point is the same as losing by 100 doesn't take Einstein to do a tiny bit of analysis beyond the scoreline. I know it is easier to look at two numbers on the match report and leave it at that but I don't think that's why people visit this site.
  12. I wouldn't even credit that one, it was 31 points but the low scoring really masked the true story, 69-38, scoring shots 24-13, i-50s 37 to 57.. under normal circumstances that was a 10 goal loss
  13. I was 5 at the time - what stage of the game was this and what was the score?
  14. I havent read any of this thread past the OP and the article it links to. All I have to say is who the hell cares what some troll writes about us, her primary goal is to stir up interest, and with 5 pages of posts here you are just giving her what she wants -a reaction.
  15. Cross has had a significant match day impact, that aside - the line we are all fed is that having blokes of his professional caliber is supposed to filter down to the younger players in the group - is it true though? If you get Cross, or O'Keefe or whoever, does their value really last beyond the actual games they contribute for the club? I have seen zero evidence that any kid has 'learnt' anything from a pro like Cross, or any other lat-career import over the last decade, from their presence being at the club. Does Jack Watts play any differently whatsoever as a result of Dawes being here? Did anybody gain anything whatsoever from having 'dual-premiership player' Shannon Byrnes at the club? I smell BS
  16. He was also partial to a dropped mark, somebody here or at 'ology named him 'ole rubberchest' which was apt.. the title has since moved on to Dawes who is 'ole concrete hands'
  17. Agreed! WTF!? He did a good job in the middle for the PS and early rounds as I recall and then the idea was shelved and back to being an ineffectual HF flanker? Put him back in there we couldn't possibly get less bang for our buck FCS. Somebody spoke recently about the pain of watching players leave the club and be successful elsewhere, i tell you what is worse, having players that you KNOW can deliver, remain at the club and underperform year after year, Watts, Frawley, Garland, Jamar wtf is wrong with this club?
  18. 1 goal and 30 touches total for the last 4 weeks
  19. just dream with me for a second.. Hogan debuts against GWS and kicks 8 as we win by 60
  20. Agreed The reason his name keeps popping up is simply because he was a first round draft pick and we have a good 8-10 spots in the 22 occupied by spuds who have to replaced ASAP Unfortunately though he is just another one
  21. There is no way he would miss that shot if he was down at the local oval by himself - it's because of psychological pressure. He knows that this teammates, coaches and supporters are aware that he has a reputation for poor disposal. When he took that mark and started to walk back he was thinking 'oh wow imagine what they will say and think if I stuffed something as easy as this up' lo and behold, he 'overthunk' it and stuffed it up. Had he been 45 out on an angle he may well of slotted it because the expectation would have been much lower. Riley has the exact same issue of dodgy disposal preceding him. I think there is a similar psychological process happening with a lot of other players in a lot of other situations. It is also related to getting in front in the last quarter and then seemingly realising that we are supposed to be losing, that's what we do, and it self-prophesying. There is a storyline about their ineptitude, and they believe it. Scarred tissue, damaged goods. Whose fault it is, and how to fix it, I am unsure.
  22. we are paying 8.50 we should be paying 100.00
  23. It's not though - last week, in isolation, was as bad as anything from last year.. it is more of an exception than a rule but there has still been 6-8 absolutely deplorable efforts like it, eg West Coast, Sydney and Collingwood matches
  24. there it is again! The interrupted preseason golden ticket! IDGAF if he got hit by a bus in January, he is a professional athlete who is declared fit and available for selection like everyone else, what kind of excuse is it to say that a bloke missed some training 5 months ago and therefore he is allowed to be shizen in round 19, one of the most infuriating lines that gets trotted out here. It's another one of these things absorbed from the ridiculously oversaturated media, bunch of boofhead ex-players like 'Kingy' and 'Johnno' and 'Richo' (see they're all great mates that's why they refer to each other by their surnames with an extra vowel at the end) all with their stupid heads on the screen 40 hours a walk trying desperately to say something insightful and instead carping out cliches, useless stats and theories that mean nothing - and then we get the pleasure of demonland posters regurgitating the same nonsense as their own original thoughts. A few years ago nobody even talked about a player's pre-season fitness - ENOUGH EXCUSES! /end rant
  25. agree with all that it's a bit of a worry for a 24-gamer to have such a selfish mindset, I wonder what has been said to him since. Chance to be dropped actually.
