Would love for this to happen, West Coast would be mad to not hold on to her for the long term

Nope, unfortunately. Nobody blinked and he went to his preferred club without the Saints getting anything in return. Hopefully the Saints this time look to get some back.

You must have a very short memory, then

It's essentially head of HR.

Hopefully we're involved in the background of a few deals in order to move up the draft order. The true hope is that we're under the radar for the majority of the week, but end up with a decent draft hand, that we can even use to our advantage under the pressure environment of draft night.

I'm just glad it's no longer us

How Chris Scott differs from other AFL coaches
Dr. Mubutu replied to djr's topic in Melbourne Demons
He 100% inherited the first one. In looking at other things, I saw that the Cats won by a total of 336 points over two weeks in Scott's first season at the helm. -

Only because the AFL move them to bigger grounds against the 'big 4'. Carlton last played at Kardinia in 2020. Richmond hadn't played there for 7 years before this year. Essendon only played a non-COVID game there for the first time since 1993 last year (EDIT: it was still 28 years between games for them). Collingwood last played there in Round 15, 1999. -

Ross Lyon is the most overrated coach in the AFL. How he didn't win a flag with the St. Kilda team he had is beyond belief. His results with Freo and Saints now are actually speaking volumes. -
I think we did alright with Viney

It's not, but that's neither here nor there. We overpaid for McAdam. That's in the past, and we have to move on. Pick 25 for Nibbler is probably about correct, but I wouldn't be surprised if we shuffle some later picks to benefit Adelaide as well.

......and if it is, it will be a great day and you'll have many a whisky to celebrate?

They've gotta pay for Purple waxing lyrical with little to no connection to reality somehow.

Given we're more than likely adding 5+ players to the list this year anyway, gives us some flexibility for next year. Also, it allows us to see what Kentfield can do after an AFL level preseason. Verrell HAS to be there, as Farris-White has been delisted, Fullarton is a non-starter, and Schache has retired. Sestan is probably the most contentious one, however given his work ethic, I see no harm in it at all.

I'll pay this, but he *did* send a tag to Daicos on KB, and it truly did limit his damage. Poor willingness to contest from players isn't within the coach's purview on gameday. Selection I don't see as a gameday issue, and I very highly doubt it is all Goodwin's call, but agree to disagree. Edit: apologies for sidetracking the thread, but back on topic: Gutnick obviously has some time to kill given he can't be a director for any companies at the moment. Gotta keep that public profile happening somehow

I think you're overestimating just how much a head coach can do on gameday. It's not chess, he can't go out there and physically position the players to make sure they're in the right spots. It's also not NFL, where the gameplan can change play by play. I'd be very interested to see what changes you think he could have made (outside of Petty for Jefferson, which isn't a matchday issue, nor is it purely Goodwin's decision)

Just completely incorrect. The father-son rule changed to the bidding system in 2007, and Jack was drafted in 2012 with pick 26. Granted, there was some talk at the time about a gentlemens' agreement between us and GWS with regards to the mini-draft trade, but pick 3 for Jesse Hogan was a no-brainer. While I agree that the NGA rules can be improved, this change was known for years before Jack was drafted. It's definitely fairer in my view than the old 3rd round selection - can you imagine Brisbane getting Ashcroft for pick 45+?

I feel like the bigger report here is why nothing was done about this until the CEO returned after 3 months of leave, in the middle of the season. Fair ball drop from the AFLPA here.

There's no way known we're taking 7 draft picks.

Does the club need a full and external review?
Dr. Mubutu replied to DeesignerAU's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not getting your drift, because you're sending mixed messages........ All organisations benefit from external reviews. And the Angry Batmobile would be AMAZING at every home game. -
