  1. No- I do not rate him as a tall- a medium height ,however he can play CHF or FF no doubt.Or as James McCarthy stated- he could ruck rove and play as a 3rd tall on the forward line.
  2. In every successful team , there seems to be a player that will give you a smack in the mouth,Darling is one(a protector type) whom these smaller players need to be around. Darling suits this role perfectly.I'd love him at the Dees.If not another tall similar.
  3. You are correct- in an article a couple of weeks ago on the MFC website Barry Prendagast stated he looked forward to seeing Jack Viney- however is not playing this year.
  4. Yep- maybe another Serhat Temel.Shows ability but atitude????????????/ By the way-190 cms tall - again you maybe right - slightly small (like Darling @ WA),for a pivotal key position player.
  5. Had a real laugh with your description but you are very accurate. Seemed to have trimmed down but showed he can really play the game.Seems arrogant possibly is.Will be recruited.
  6. I believe the league has allowed at least one over age player per team- however in saying this noticed on Tasmania's list- the following : no2- Ryan Bailey dob- 25 Oct 91 8-Tom Claridge-24 Feb 91 20-Groenewegen-25 Oct 91 31 Carlton-2 March 91 32 Phillips-3 July 91 Therefore must be able to play a mix of 19 year olds and younger.
  7. No stand outs as very windy fot talls- Josh Green stood out early however went off in the second quarter and taken to hospital with what looks like broken ribs.Midfielders & mid talls were the highlight with another Reiwolt standing out- Charlie- except a lot smaller-183 cms. Another mid-Sam Darley impressed me-186cms .Note another Thorp also showed a little- this one,Cody is 194 cms, playerd CHF, showing DOB-2ND April 93.Just for HT-May did play last year-DOB-10 Jan 92. 190 CMS- PLAYED FULL BACK, CHB, CHF & FF during the carnival. Moves and seems a natural AFL footballer.I believe he attends Melbourne Grammar.
  8. I went to Visy Park today and watched the 2nd Division Under 18's. In the first match, there was one young NT footballer whom seemed to really have it- Steve May. NT beat Q'ld by 15 points. In the other match- decider of the 2nd Division winner,Tasmania belted NSW. Brad Green coached the centreline. One player that took my eye ,a kid by the name of Joshua Green- I do not know if related and another Andrw Phillips-an impressive overage .Nearly 19- 200 cm ruckman/forward.
  9. I don't agree re tall backs-I think we need to groom another tall backman- last week not one performed adequately.Need a fast tall- David Neitz type forward. These are the initial main weaknesses we possess.
  10. Seconded these sentiments fully- Go Jimma- Go Dees.
  11. Great points have been raised re Scully regarding his bravery, but by gee his kicking really lets him down. Will need to get this skill right to become an elite player.
  12. Good on ya posters for saying it as it is.However, I strongly suggest you also voice your concerns to :[email protected] -attention Jennifer Watts whom also gets emotional but makes sure the message gets passed on.
  13. What rubbish- had 7 possessions in the first quarter and was just cactus- hopeless, your judgement is definately not like mine. Hopeless short kicks into dangerland.Pathetic performance by the club. The whole lot of them should hang their heads.Bruce is finished-too slow- game has caught up with him-should retire NOW.
  14. And some posters are very perdantic. I would love to see Wheaters go to states to try a kickers role.
  15. Just shows NO certainty anymore.Better to play when right.MFC would have been better if they had not played Sylvia injured for weeks rather than carry him.
  16. Went and watched Vic metro v's Northern Territory yesterday and Wheaters was coaching the Metro backline. He coached at Eastern Ranges last year.Seems to really enjoy coaching the younger ones. Maybe in time wants to coach at higher level
  17. I agree that Petterd is in the top 25 --however question if he is good enough to get into the top 22.He possibly could push out Jetta and furthermore play on a wing. The team looking like: Bartram Warnock Rivers Grimes Frawley Garland Morton Moloney Petterd Green Watts Bate Davey Miller Jurrah Jamar McKenzie Scully I: Gysberts, Trengove, Jones, McDonald. Even Jurrah could play on a wing allowing Petterd to go forward.
  18. Very good post- respect your viewpoint as always.Very well put. As they say, a contract is not signed till it is!
  19. Ricky Petterd told you and I at Junction Oval several weeks ago that he would be here next year.Don't you believe him ?
  20. Yep--his heart beats true for the Red & the Blue.Just imagine when we get Viney- the mess we will do in the guts. GO DEES !
  21. Yep - a new update PLEASE--Thanks for the memory
  22. Cheney like all players did not put in a good one against Willy- however I was there watching the game and I would have rated him as one of the best. His performances over the 10 games played would have seen him as the best performed by a MFC player. He could play back pocket or off a half back flank.Could replace Bartram or Bruce.
