  2. The danger in waiting for the PSD is that Saints have first pick. We missed out on Hannath (or whatever his name is) a couple of years back.
  3. I think he would be at his peak value right now. Other clubs will pay what I would consider over his true value. I'm expecting him to find it difficult to hold down a roll in the team, especially with the inclusion of HL on the HBF, and the addition of JG in the forward line (I realise Howe isn't a small forward like JG, but JG's inclusion will push someone out). My fear is that IF I'm correct, Howe will play VFL football next year (hence my "dead wood" call), which will clearly lower is trade value. As you said, he's not the player that will lead the team, so what will his role be? Take a screamer? We will need more than that from him (and all our players) if we are to rise up the ladder. Personally, I thought he struggled on the HBF this year, which is concerning for the position known as the "easiest to play". He didn't know when to mark or spoil, he doubted himself at contests, which against a decent HFF, will bring you unstuck and will make you a target.
  4. I'm happy for GWS to take some of our dead wood. The best part with Howe is that he makes other clubs act like a 4 year old at the showbag stand. They get mesmerised with the outside packaging, but deep down we know the inside is full of rubbish.
  5. Pick 3 and Howe to GWS. Greene, Frost and Pick 6 to MFC. Pick 6 to be used on Lever.
  6. Reid. WTF am I doing contributing to this thread???
  7. Something that isn't going on at atleast 3 other clubs (Dogs, Crows, Suns). The right people are calling the shots. I'm sure BBO can help you out with this. He manages an avenue full of them.
  8. One cent, Adam. Wouldn't give Ralph anything.
  9. I'd give Emma one.
  10. Never seen him play, but what does he bring that Fitzy doesn't? Nb. I'm not saying Fitzy is a star, but is this bloke better than him?
  11. I think with their new coach, eel see the whiting on the wall with regards to Danger jumping ship. I await his decision with baited breath...
  12. Snapper in half?
  13. Watching the Brownlow the other night, maybe we could offer Dangers girlfriend some soft plastics to enhance the deal?
  14. You've finally hooked on Steve. Welcome aboard.
  15. I'm sick of weeding some of this whiting. It's time for me to go to sweep.
  16. It's interesting - at the end of our season (ie Round 9), I started watching other midfielders, looking at who I think we should make a play at. At the right price, Greenwood was my number one choice. I had it in my mind a pick in the 10-20 range would be a very good get, but thought it'd be highly unlikely that Norf would let him go, and if they did they would want/deserve better. I rate him, think he has the potential to take his game to a level or two higher than what he did this year.
  17. I, for one, would love to know if we tried chasing Greenwood, and if we didn't, why not, especially a pick in the 20's does the deal.
  18. Probably proof that he signed up with Hawthorn last year. His form this year didn't warrant a Band 1 worthy contract. Regardless, I'm very happy.
  19. I'm in Qld so didn't hear that (ie didn't pinch the idea!). Surely we just make this happen. Who do we do to get this approved? I'm sure BBO will take one for the team in this instance.
  20. Amazing that out of everything that is posted on here, you had an issue with that? Fixed, just for you.
  21. No GIF to give us some idea what it will be like?
  22. I think it's a case of hating the game rather than hating those that play it, in particular, Frawley. There's a system in place that eligible players are able to utilise, and he has done just that. I totally disagree with Frawley's form though. He's still monstering the backline, probably more than ever, it's just the sheer volume of entries that has been killing him. He will go to Hawthorn and he will continue to monster opposition forwards, especially when the ball is coming in considerably less than what it has been. Clark is a different story. But I think both are not nice characters, just one is a bigger one than the other. Edit - again, for redleg's sake.
  23. I reckon this one hurts more than any previous - abssolutely no disrepect to any that have departed. Like most, I barrack for Melbourne wholey and soley due to my dad, who passed a couple of years ago, sadly in his later 50's too. I wouldn't have it any other way. Robbie gave him quite a deal of hope during those tough years, and the memories I have of "that" 1987 season, of going to the footy with my dad and watching Robbie alone, will never die. My first MFC jumper had the number 2 on the back. At the start of 1988, my mum sewed a number 7 to it on the right of the existing number 2. I'm in my 30's, and it's totally shattering that 3 of my top 4 all time favourite players are no longer with us (take care please, Wiz!). I should be celebrating their passing when I'm in my 50's or 60's, watching old footage with my son and daughter. Instead, I have to watch Youtube clips on my own because my boy is only 10 weeks old, and my girl (2) isn't really interested in Youtube unless it's to watch Peppa Pig or The Wiggles. The occasional "Go Dees" is quite cute though when she sees higlights of Robbie, but it brings a tear to the eye when it's not directed at the great man himself. It will one day.
