I'm needing to have a cold shower now that he has signed...

Can you please change your alias to Will Hunting? Nb. I appreciate your post!

Were we not the medias b-arch this year - especially the first 6 months of it? Lots of publicity? Lots of "bang for buck"? Did a lot of good for Opel.

STMJ, for my benefit, can you please tell me which player relates to both those comments. If your answer is Moloney is "A" and Rivers is "B", then I could quite easily argue that it could be the other way around! In all seriousness though, Moloney would've helped this year, but his loss hasn't hurt. However, I'm amazed that one/some think the loss of Rivers has hurt. Then a number of levels under those two is when we start talking about Petterd.

Christ, he was a rookie-listed player at the time, there's more of them that don'r play a senior game than that do. Roos would've looked at Terlich's game since, especially given that it's been at the top level, and has seen obvious areas that Dean would need to iron out to keep his spot. He would've also seen a lot of the good things that I see him do too. I have no doubt Roos has the ability to turn him in to a very handy player.

The only thing that concerns me is that Alastair Lynch was on that stupid After The Bounce (or whatever that Fox show is called with Dunstall and Spud) last night. Lynch was very cocky about knowing stuff, and Dunstall tried to get it out of him. I'd imagine Lynch and Roos would still be mates. Why I'm concerned is that I hate Lynch's guts, ever since that day he said Melbourne supporters should be optimistic about $cully playing for us the following year, when he knew all along he wouldn't be. He was lying through his teeth, which in turn makes me want to kick them in, and I don't like or trust a word that comes out of his mouth. It would be a dog's act for all this to be a big build up to kick us in the guts, and I wouldn't put it past some media folk, especially Lynch.

Same same but different.

Trengove will poll well despite most our our comments about his season (mine included). One thing I do know is even if Jones doesn't win it (which he gets my vote), it's good that he has broken the curse of performing badly after winning the Bluey. The names on the trophy before his went from hero to zero in a short space of time.

Have a feeling Roos will love working with Terlich.

Would karma be a [censored] in this instance?

Only a coffee at this stage RP. They interviewed Craig in the pre-match show yesteday, quizzed him about the Brisbane gig. Apparently the jungle drums are beating quite loudly in terms of Craig for Brisbane.
-
And even still he is only 2 wins behind Neeld/Craig for the year, and 1 win behind Sheedy.
-
Reading between the lines here, but I interpret that as Neil has been asked to catch up with PJ for a coffee on Wednesday.

I never understood the French interest in Perth...

I don't have time with posts like this, but I'll highlight why I made the comment; You believe we sell papers. I don't think I need any more proof to support my delusional comment.

Delusional.

Do you really think the sporting world, or for that matter, the AFL community could give a toss about who we announce as our next coach? Us making an announcement will not draw attention away from anything else that's going on. We are an insignifcant club in the eyes of most. Of the 3 leading candidates, the reaction/headline will be; If Roos is appointed - Melbourne got their man, but is he doing it for the right rea$on$? If Eade is appointed - logical appointment given he still has the desire to coach and we wanted someone with experience If Williams is appointed - logical appointment given he still has the desire to coach and we wanted someone with experience What's the one thing the 3 potential appointments have in common? It's hardly newsworthy. The only appointment that will possibly interest some would be Roos, just to see if he is the magician that we all think he is and can turn this train wreck around. It's only a matter of time til I start reading on here about us not announcing a new sponsor because the cricket's on, or the tennis, or the ballet. And that we are waiting to make an announcement to get "maximum exposure". The sooner our supporters realise we are like a homeless person in the street the better. The average Joe just walks past and totally ignores us, while every now and then, someone might stop to read what's on the sign we are holding up, feel sorry for us, then move on. When the Club understands this, which I have no doubt PJ does, then we can use this as one of the driving factors to improve, because basically, people are expecting us to die. We will not be significant (or newsworthy) again until we show a sign of life. I'm as passionate as anyone on here, but I'm also not in denial.

Do the umpires use that thought process when working out Brownlow votes in games against Melbourne?
-
Anytime I've gained size I've known exactly how to play with it. That was with minimal coaching too.

Well done Beaker Fitzy!

This is a very good post. The only thing I can find in it is about our leadership group having the ability to make examples of certain parts of play. It's hard for them (the LG) to stand up and demand certain things, when they aren't capable of doing it themselves. Even as supporters, especially in dark times, we look for someone onfield who we want to go on a journey with, or make us walk taller than what we are. Sadly, that player is either sitting in the grand stands whit question marks on him every playing again, or is a bloody 19 year old kid that hasn't even finished his first season. I find nothing inspiring in Grimes, I find nothing inspiring in Trengove. These two are the guys that lead us out to battle every week.

Simplest poll ever? This rates up there with some of Rangey's old polls. Would like you to add "Trade for Nik Nat" as a third option please B59.

Supplied the half time oranges that were perfectly cut in to quarters.

Jack Watts - More Discussion (for those who haven't had enough)

Do you really think other clubs aren't up to date with their assessment of where Watts is at? I hope your taking the pi$$, B59. -

I thnk Watts knows this, hence him waiting to see if our new coach is able to do this. He may not have to go to another team to find it, he may just need to wait until the end of this season.
