  1. Free agency should run for 1 week, clubs would have worked out what free agents they would be interested in through the year or have the empty week the clubs get after the G/F to make decisions. If trade period starts say the following tuesday that gives clubs 3 days to decide if they will match the deal accepted from an opposition club if the player is a restricted free agent. That way clubs know exactly what picks they have entering into trade week and have a better understanding of what they can give or propose in a trade. 2 weeks max for trade would be fine i believe.
  2. How do you know he's a certainty?? or are u going off the afl trade whispers??
  3. The AFL's newest club has made it known it is also prepared to trade out defender Tomas Bugg and midfielder Matt Buntine for the right deal, following their two years at the club. Bugg was a rising star nomination in 2012, and Buntine was the fifth overall national draft selection two years ago. Don't know enough about either of these 2 boys from GWS, do they fit what we are looking for? And wat would we have to give up for them. Obviously pick 2 is out of the equation and personally I hope we hold on to our 2nd pick because I have a feeling there will still be quality players there at that selection. But what about the compensation pick we get for Sylvia, will it be enough. Thoughts?? http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/lions-go-hard-in-hawks-trade-off/story-fnca0u4y-1226733861019
  4. Yer daily meaning weekdays mate. Here's a tweet from trade week radio yesterday: That's the first week! Catch us from 9am Monday with @camluke and @NathanBrown_07 LIVE from Etihad Stadium as trade period opens! https://mobile.twitter.com/traderadio
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I'm almost certain trade week radio is only weekdays 9am to 5pm so that could be a problem.
  6. Found this a good read, sounds like he has grown up a bit. But lets see if he can continue to mature or if its just to get on a list and go back to his old habits. Personally I believe everyone deserves a second chance and wish him all the best. Learning to leave the party
  7. Thanks for the summary WB, however I am not as concerned as others. I think MFC are in a great position in regards to trade and draft, no one knows wat the hell is happening other than those inside the club which means there are no leaks coming from the club different to previous years. I believe we are in a very good position in regards to pick 2, knowing if we don't trade it for an established quality midfielder that's fine we go to the draft and pick up the best midfielder there. Aish/Kelly, both hopefully will be 10+ yr midfielders for our club. I know It will take a bit longer but if we get it right it can also set us up for sustained success in the future, Massive period for our club to get the selections right and confident our football department will this time around. And then with pick 20 odd may be able to snare a dunstan or garlett with a bit of luck if we retain the pick of course. Then the Sylvia compo pick and our later ones either trade for fringe players at other afl clubs and add midfield depth or through the draft. However I feel we are in a great position and will be intrigued to see how we go in the next month, feeling pretty happy and can't wait to see what unfolds. Go dees!!!
  8. Na nothing, just that obviously we cannot match col sylvia's offer as he is a unrestricted FA. He did say 25yrs old would most likely be max age player we would consider trading pick 2 for. Personally i would hope 22-24 yrs old
  9. Fair enough if that's your opinion. However I believe he has showed on numerous occasions he is good enough, he has single handly won us games off his own boot, he's a powerful midfielder who kicks goals(I don't expect him to be a Judd or cotchin), his problem is he never has any fluency in his game because he will do something stupid and get suspended and sit on the sidelines when he's in form(therefore is never consistent). I think Roos will teach him what is required to become an elite midfielder and how fit u have to be to run hard two ways not just one. MFC cannot afford to lose Colin Sylvia IMO
  10. Yer well it's easier said than done, Who knows if where going to land a Cross etc. We may only land 1 or 2 ready to play Mids through trade and free agency so I'd rather be adding too than replacing
  11. Yes that may be the case but under ROOS he may(just may)turn into the player we have all been waiting for all these years. The reality is if we want to build a decent midfield next year we can't afford to lose players like Sylvia who are seasoned hardened bodies
  12. I like how you say get excited and add on the end Sylvia is gone.lolIt's obviously not gonna be there 1st pick(6) so I presume it will be a mid 20's pick
  13. Let's hope so because he is a future star of the competition if he already isn't one.
  14. Do u know if he has any interest in leaving the Roos??
  15. Obviously in 2yrs GC might be battling for a premiership so it will be hard to lure him away
  16. We tried this year todd viney gave him a call, but obviously with all the drama going on at the club he decided to stay with his mates at GC. Have a feeling maybe at the end of this contract where a good chance to get him, as his mum desperately wants him to come back home. Hawks offered him 350k a year just before he re-signed
  17. 100% is dion prestia, his dad and uncle work in the footscray fruit market. Family friends
  18. Afl website says Dylan shiel is open to a trade back home, but obviously GWS have said he's a required player. Wouldn't completely give up hope of landing this kid in this years trade period just yet, but will be difficult as he is still contracted
  19. There has already been a Dylan shiel page created. However this kid is a gun, averaged just under 20 touches a game and kicks goals. Think pick 2 is prob too much, but maybe if they throw in a later 1st rnd pick. Problem is GWS are going to want experienced players in return which we don't really have, just hope another club like collingwood don't trump us with a Shaw or someone. Watch this page take off like a JET when everyone wakes up to the news
  20. I did think about that. But not sure that's the case the way his manager answered the question. They asked if Melb were 1 of 5 clubs and he replied no not as of yet.
  21. That's wat I get out of that too!! But are we running a fine line, in the case we are not able to land an established midfielder with pick 2?? Are we putting all our eggs in 1 basket?
  22. Very interesting Melbourne is not 1 of 5 clubs to show interest in Taylor Adams. Source: his manager on trade week radio
  23. Just read this article in the Herald Sun about Paul Roos upsetting Sydney because of trying to lure young swans academy players. Lloyd Perris etc. Personally I love this, this shows to me Roos is 100% committed to the Dees and will do anything needed to make us a formidable outfit again. I know ppl will say of course he is 100% committed but I personally thought he still had a soft spot for the swans and would steer clear of them for that reason. Also shows he isn't afraid of poaching swans players, staff etc. Thoughts?? Personally, Thumbs up Roosy ??? Sydney chairman Richard Colless slams Paul Roos for trying to lure emerging Swans prospects
  24. Contracted to the end of 2014
