  1. I understand that GV, however if we are 1 of 4 or 5 clubs trying to land Adams but the others are struggling to satisfy GWS in any deal. Adams might see that Melb can get the deal done n agree to come just like Mitch clark did when freo couldn't get the deal done
  2. Just because (if) they get Martin in the PSD doesn't mean they will take unders for Adams. For a kid that went at pick 13 two years ago and from Rnd 6-23 avgd 22 disp, 9 cont poss and 4 clearances, pretty sure pick 19 won't get the job done in a shallow draft. However I do understand Adams can go to Melb via PSD but just can't see it happening with all the clubs interested in him, our best bet is presenting the best deal.
  3. I'm all for adding experience to our young list and especially our midfield. But it's stated in the article st.kilda will only only consider trading montagna for a high pick, which would be ludicrous of Melbourne to do. Think you will find only clubs that think they are a shot at a premiership in the next few years will make a play for Joey. We should be looking at a young to mid 20's age player to trade pick 2 or explore free agency
  4. Jay clark says Richmond and Collingwood are his preferred destination's. Unfortunate but still hopeful where a chance of landing him http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/richmond-takes-aim-at-taylor-adams-as-a-possible-replacement-for-dustin-martin/story-e6frfkp9-1226722269668
  5. Thanks for that H/G, however I was curious how u are so sure that we would take O"rourke instead of Grundy?? Have u been told this or is it ur opinion.
  6. My sister works with an ex-player who attended jamars wedding and spoke to Ricky who said he would definitely be at Melbourne next year!!
  7. Harrington said in an interview today that Jared has been offered a contract but he is waiting to go over his options and see if he fits in our club.
  8. I'm sure there were plenty of hawks picked ahead of "josh Kennedy" when he was there too. Some that prob are not as half as good now. If where going to recruit on that philosophy we might end up with no one.
  9. Thanks for the update "Nudge"!! Hopefully u can update us on anymore rumours you hear. Much appreciated
  10. That's a fair enough question "D 32". But the position this kid plays it would not be easy to get a game at Collingwood with the likes of Pendlebury, Swan, Thomas etc in front of him. Players like Rounds on the fringe of top teams are players we should be chasing i feel. Is only 21 and could thrive when given more opportunities.
  11. Magpie 'open to trade' I was surprised to see no one had started a thread on this kid!!! I really rate him as a footballer and think he would be a handy acquisition to our squad, can cover a range of positions (HBF,C,FP) is only young and dont think we would have to give much up for him!!! 2 clubs have asked anout Rounds and i wonder if Neeld might be one, seeing he would of worked with him last year. Thoughts?
  12. Tim Harrington coming up on trade week radio!!
  13. Played with jordan Lisle at blackburn, good level headed kid just needs to improve his kicking. If we get jordan i think it will be involved in a three way deal maybe to help get gunston to hawks. Wouldn't give anymore than a 2nd rnder for him in this years draft.
  14. Yes apologies "W_J " there was trade week radio last year, I made a mistake!! I'm sure plenty of ppl will be constantly making updates on demonland of any rumours etc released on TWR!!
  15. I don't know if u are trying to mount a reasonable case or your joking. For one I don't underestimate finals Footy and watching this year shows we have alot of ground to make up physically as a unit and also our ball use around the ground. No.2 I don't think we know how 3 quarters of our team will go in finals Footy coz most of em havnt played finals Footy at afl level. We all know jurrah lacks that defensive pressure u don't have to be Einstein to know that, but if that's his only fault that can easily be fixed by MN n LB. Jurrahs strength is marking on the lead not in packs and this is where we fall apart without a KPF coz we are kicking the ball on jurrahs head n saying mark that and it's obvious so most of the time he will have more than one defender on him. Btw I Like the look of our fwds too but the list looks alot better with jurrah in it than without him in it. Btw give him some time to get his body physically ready this is only his 4th yr and 1 if those yrs he was injured for the majority. Yes we need some quality mids but we need to trade/draft smartly and do it so it benefits MFC, not sure jurrah been traded would benefit us!! Hopefully u wake up with a different opinion.
  16. Ok well I thought u meant in a marking contest that's why I come up with breaking packs, but that's ok I agree jurrah does tend to go missing at times but that also has to do with the way we play: our game plan did not suit any forward, at times our inside 50 were doubled by our opponents. So under MN with a new game plan you will see not only jurrah excel but our hole forward line!! I would not let jurrah go at any cost he is one of few forwards at our club kicking multiple goals!! Find another way to get the deal across the line coz I guarantee you jurrah won't be on the table. Dawes is exactly what we need a powerful Fwd that break packs open and brings the small fwds into the game, something we havnt had since neitz left!! Wow he was the last to sign a contract behind swan, pendlebury, Thomas etc that's prob reasonable considering those players are A graders. I would have him in a heart beat. And I would say jurrah almost posesses the most talent of any one on our list. He would be along way ahead of the middle pack, he would be in the top echelon!!
  17. If your not saying get rid of jurrah then what are u saying?? Trading jurrah to gws is getting rid of him, isn't it?? Jurrahs role is to lead up to the ball carrier not break packs open, he just doesn't have the body to do that and never will!! That's why we need a Dawes type, I believe jurrah will reep the awards of that, where the attention is not solely on jurrah!! Yes I know we would all love that, too have gun like o"meara coming to our club, but too give up one of our best talents is just ridiculous!! He will only get better and I see no reason to have worries about jurrah, from what I've heard is very comfortable in Melb and having wonnas come back will only benefit him.
  18. I honestly cannot believe people are suggesting that we should trade jurrah. In 2011 most people say jurrah had a avg year, yet jurrah still kicked 40 gls with pretty ordinary service for most of the year. Just imagine how good this kid could be if he was able to keep his body right and was not the number one forward. He does everything takes a good grab, kicks a good goal and just needs to work on his defensive pressure which I'm sure MN would be. He could be anything especially if we can bring in a KPF to take some of the pressure off jurrah!! I would love o"meara and would love him at the MFC but plz throw up some names that would be realistic. I don't think trading Liam jurrah is realistic!!
  19. Nope, they had trade week radio in 2009 for some reason didn't do it in 2010. I'll be listening
  20. Reading Damian Barretts twitter, curious if he knows if we (MFC) are throwing big money at some big name players! From his twitter: barrettdamian : Hearing some big names will be in for a shock come Monday, when their clubs throw them up as trade bait. dizwah7 @barrettdamian like who? Any from the Dees? Or Dees looking at? To @dizwah7 and others, the Dees have salary cap money to burn, given they had 500k or so to give to Scully. Watch this space Interesting, and who do you think could be some unexpected players thrown up as trade bait?
  21. yes 'h_t' i understand more than likely o'meara will be a gun/star!! But IMO giving up 3 top 12 picks for o'meara is just too much. Especially if nxt years draft is as good as they say it is. As i said 2 picks i wouldn't mine 3 is too much.
  22. Not sure im willing to give up almost 3 "top 10" picks for 1 player, i know o'meara will be a gun but gee thats alot of talent your giving up for the one player. 2 picks i could accept but just think 3 1st rnd picks is paying over the odds. keen to hear what others think??
  23. Not sure if anyone has come across this post on Demonology!! http://demonology.mi...707&BoardType=0 Interesting, but im not reading too much into any rumours.
  24. Yer i think i may of got abit carried away lol. is that better ^
