  1. I'd be happy to have Gary if he came in for 3-5 years and saw his work through. Gary has only come in for 6 months and really acheived nothing. Seems we would have picked Mark Neeld anyway. As he was Malthouses right hand man. Gary Lyon helped pick Dean Bailey and Mark Neeld as a past captain who is an outsider. He seems to have to much pull at the club just because he is in the media and was a past captain. Jason Dunstall sits in the box at tripple m with Gary and he is football director...he has been doing the job for 5 or so years. Gary speaks a lot of big words and with lots of passion. but really he doesn't want to go through the pain with the club over the long term.
  2. Biggest mistake melbourne makes is going back to Gary Lyon. Gary Lyon has appointed Mark Neeld and Dean Bailey.
  3. I've broken the list into three groups. Neeld's boys, unsure and not Neeld's Boys. In my opinion Neeld needs to convert them. Meaning make them perform to potential. He can't afford to play them all year. He shoudl go down with his boys. otherwise they should go. Neelds Boys Jones Clark Magner Howe Watts Jamar Grimes Trengove Bartram Tyan Sellar McDonald Rivers ? McKenzie ? Martin ? Garland ? Frawley ? Dunn ? Blease ? Bate ? Bail ? MacDonald ? Not Neelds Boys (he needs to work on these boys) Moloney Davey Sylvia Green Petterd Morton Left out injured players and guys who haven't played
  4. Jeremey Howe is proof white men can jump!
  5. Anyone who has a crack at Neeld or his style is a joke...give the guy a chance. I think Neeld will be making a huge statement to the players at the end of this year. Certain players will be surely shown the door and careers ended.
  6. good to hear Mark Jamar on AFL Gameplan. he said he was very confident at staying with melbourne.
  7. if either Sylvia and/or Moloney go with could replace them with Brock Mclean....would only cost a bag of spuds
  8. You can put some blame onto Gary Lyon for the inept performances...he was part of the team responsible for putting Dean Bailey and Mark Neeld into the job.
  9. Gary Lyon has had to much involvment without any responsibilty at melbourne.
  10. I would play defender Tom McDonald on Buddy. He has had big assignments in the past few weeks and done well. Deserves a chance. Frees up Frawley and Grimes for clearing the ball out of the backline and assiting Tom when required..
  11. Morton has had a horror run....but I think morton is on the up...i'm going to give him a few more games before i make up my mind..
  12. i believe Cale is studying media or journalism...something like that.
  13. if Moloney and Jamar leave...we can afford patrick dangerfield $$$
  14. I think the dees need to lock Nathan Jones away for a further 3 years. He's playing extremely well and each week he is improving. He might have another year left on his contract but i think it's time to act given his young age and signs of improving.
  15. very true...When Sylvia and Moloney are hot...they are fantastic. that's what i was kinda getting at. At the moment there is nobody really forcing them out of the side or could take there spot.
  16. whether you think we they are playing well at the moment...We need Sylvia and Moloney more than they need us. Something to remember.
  17. well said...Dean Bailey got rid of seasoned bodies and replaced them with youth. Thrown them to the wolves. When the Bombers were down they never struggled with leadership like us. Having the likes of Fletcher and Watson. has helped bring players on quicker. Plus Bombers seem to have a winning culture of recent times...current players would have grown up watching the bombers win flags.
  18. I would like to Give Bennell a last chance...I would like to see him play at the feet of Mitch Clark. out: Sellar,Tapscott. in: Watts, Bennell
  19. lets hope jack doesn't have a bad game and the media start to sledge
  20. i wonder if his two years already count under free agency rules?
  21. Melbourne currently has everything to get this deal done. Neil Craig (ex coach), Draft picks, room in the salary cap...we need this type of player.
  22. so you are saying when we get a better midfield it will solve grimes poor kicking? so based on your theory if we move grimes into the midfield we will still have a problem with the kicking from the defence? put simple...i see grimes (and morton) miss targets that aren't under pressure coming out of the backline. Last season people questioned the kicking of grimes.
  23. Regardless of position on the field. If grimes and morton can't consistently hit targets coming out of the backline we are making it easy for the opposition. Neeld would expect grimes and morton to hit players effectively coming out of the backline. Mark Neeld would be well aware of the midfield problem. this is going to take some time to resolve. poor kicking should not be tolerate.
