The media is saying scully and trengove...as do most people on this site. but it's my perception that many people on this site only know of the players via youtube. myself included... happy to take the first two standouts...scully and trengove...so i guess pick 18 will be best available KPP.

Mr 'knows-nothing' Morton - you seem to know nothing about our current players..ie., Sam Blease...how can you then say we shouldn't take a KP with our second pick? your probably going to educate me on best available now...and then i'm going to say you don't have a crystal ball...

blease looks pretty slick. just hope he's right for the start of pre-season. looking at this guy makes me think we will take a key position player with the second pick...ie.., butcher

Butcher kicked four on the weekend...

Melbourne has two players Sam Blease and James Strauss, from the 2008 draft yet to play a game. I believe they got draft pick 17 and 18 respectively. So the assumption is they have talent. Both have been out for much of the year with injury. Can anyone confirm if they are going to be 100% come start of pre-season? Both are young blokes with a pretty good background. Should we be seeing them come the time pre-season comp?

If melbourne picked up Sandilands...it would allow us to make room for other players...we could get rid of all/some of Meesen, PJ and Spencer....and probably keep Jamar. What do people think of that? It's just another way to look at things...but we would still need a premiership ruckman at some stage..

size has nothing to do with it...your talking about a number one pick...he actually has awesome skills

the only good thing about miller is he is a big body and rarely gets injured...miller makes poor decisions...ie., passing inside forward 50. melb has no one ready to take his spot. i could see him going to hawks....miller, franklin and roughead...strong forward line!

i think the only player other teams would chase at melbourne would be davey, grimes, a select few...maybe count on one hand ...you might off load a player with a draft pick as a sweetener...the rest of melbourne is unproven or holding a spot until a younger player develops to take it....ie., Miller i don't think a we are going to get another dream trade like Bizzell and Brent Grgic again! probably best trade melb has ever done! Can anyone think of a better one?

if he comes to melbourne...they'll give him #9 fo sho'

According to the footy show...Scully is coming to Melb...it's a done deal...he might be in the number 3 (ex gary lyon)

Luke molan had a load of injuries...that's my understanding....next we'll see people having a go at Troy Broadbridge.

if butcher has a strong draft camp he might end up at melbourne...i think that was one of the things that really helped jack watts get number 1...he performed pretty well at draft camp...otherwise at this stage it's looking like Trengove.

i like that...only need to look at carltons midfield...quality midfield....and it's young.

i must admit...i do agree with you now i know butcher is 197cm tall...he was quite impressive in 2008...based on his youtube clip. and he looks like a guy who will put on some decent muscle as he develops. (johnny brown style) that being said...i'm going off what i can see on the youtube clips. plus he's still kicking goals in TAC from my review of the paper on the wkend...imagine davey going forward looking for blokes like watts and butcher! i think he could wear the number 9 fo sho'

Lewis Jetta has said he wants to go to the eagles...if you watch his youtube clip. based on what i have seen in the media...last year they said jack watts only weakness is over head...therefore Jack Trengove since he's strong overhead...i read in the paper John Butcher kicked 5 goals on the wkend. So I don't think this is still a done deal...

if it's true..then we might hear something on talking footy tonight! probably a top bloke...but can't play at the elite level

does anyone know if Jack Watts and Tom Scully are friends on facebook yet? that would be so funny! And hopefully after this wkend Butcher can be friends on facebook too! Although i just watched Jack Trengove vs VM - 2009 AFL U18 Championships - July 1st i just hope the recruiters are on the ball this year! can't afford to be wrong!
