  1. I reckon we are timing our run and deep down the boys know they have what it takes. They will start to lift a cog from here on in as we have the Game plan and the talent to implement it, we will see a new found confidence, and a lift in pressure and work rate to be cherry ripe for finals bar injury. If Viney stays in this sort of form then watch out the rest of the comp when Clarry comes back in as well. Kudos to Salem as well , I think we all forget what an important piece of the puzzle he is , and he is looking more dominant each week.
  2. Viney at his best is so bloody awesome to watch
  3. We are not normally that inaccurate so that doesn’t worry me at all. thought the outs were pretty even we also had no Petty and Bowey on top of Oliver.
  4. That was a fantastic day. Viney was superb all day and if he keeps that up with Clarry back in we will be hard to beat . I wanted that win so bad against those mongrels, so it’s a bloody good feeling to beat them and to have so many Dees supports there making some noise! Go Dees!!
  5. 6. Viney 5. Brayshaw 4. May 3. Hunter 2. Tomlinson 1. Fritsch
  6. I can’t stand the majority of football media these days, they reek of morbidity. I remember a a young tacker most of the footy commentary was either precise , factual and analytical ,( actually talking about the game), it was more fun and positive too. These days it’s who can we pot, and how many people can we make feel bad in one show? As far using the statistical information, they spin it to suit their own opinions in a negative way.
  7. Bit worried about Clarries infected foot. Has to be in some doubt
  8. Music to my ears when he said he wants to be a one club player and loves Melbourne
  9. They might keep Smith in to play a forward defensive role on Moore, as he can go with him in the air, and understands how to play defense.
  10. Can’t see JDG getting out of this one
  11. One thing we just don’t ever seem to have is any sort of home ground advantage. Supporters are quiet and umpires always seem to favor the opposition.
  12. 6. Trac 5. Gawn 4. May 3. Brayshaw 2. Salem 1. Rivers
  13. Jordon and Wowoedin were great , Deakin Smith and Lawrie have a great set of skills and plenty of time.
  14. The competition has caught up to us and in some cases gone past us. We should have won it last year again but injuries stopped us in the end. Now we are just one of 5 or 6 teams that has a chance to win it and a lot would have to go right from now on if we are to do so. Desire and work rate have a lot to do with it too , as does form and confidence. We are not settled either, still experimenting with our forward line and backline talls in May and Lever are not as dominant as they once were.
  15. We’ve got to get back to our DNA and have that third tall in the back line. Lever was under the pump far too often today and they took too many uncontested marks .
  16. Some people gave Salem votes but I thought he was ordinary especially in the first half, no chase and run or desire to tackle or defend.
  17. I’m starting to doubt that this group has the desire to bring home another flag anytime soon
  18. JVR definitely needs a rest, and sooner we get Petty into that back line again the better.
  19. We keep gifting games to guys that are consistently mediocre.
  20. We are starting to slip to a side that is mid table. Definitely not looking like top 4 right now. Backline is definitely not as good as it once was. Outside of Trac and Oliver we really don’t have many top line onballers. Our forward line is lacking a consistent go to goal kicker that can get us out of trouble when needed, and our tackling and pressure is not as fierce as it was two years ago . We are thereabouts but far from a dominant football team. Carlton could even beat us on their day and if Collingwood beats us comprehensively in 2 weeks we will not be worthy contenders . Next fortnight will be huge and sort out the men from the boys.
  21. To me it doesn’t look like we have the same manic desire we had in 21. That doesn’t mean it can’t come back if we start to play with more intensity in the second half, maybe we are pacing ourselves, I don’t know. Collingwood seem to have that energy we lack at the moment . The competition has improved significantly over the past two seasons, but have we? We certainly don’t seem to have as many players in All Australian contention, outside Trac and Clarry and the back line isn’t as dominant in the air as it has been.
  22. Quite possible he may only be out for a couple and fingers crossed be back for Collingwood if it’s only a minor hammie
  23. I’d like to see Brayshaw , Kozzie and Rivers get extended runs in the middle to help cover the loss of Clarry
  24. Just reported it on 9 news as well
