It’s been a terrible year, all over already and the players know it. All we can do is get games into the youngsters and try and develop some sort of forward system consistency. Looking to next year. Our only hope is for strong pre seasons for Trac and clarry to try and get back to near their best , for the continued development of the young guys and somehow find a decent forward in the off season.

We are officially the worst kicking side in the comp. Has cost us at least one more flag. Love Choco and so do the boys but has he ultimately failed as kicking coach ?

If we keep losing like this, you’d think Simons job would be in serious jeopardy

Petty is soft, he has no presence as a forward. He is getting games in the forward line based on kicking 4 goals against Richmond 3 years ago. Done nothing since. I never want to see him up forward again and the only thing that saves him is he is ok down back, so leave him back and make Turner a permanent forward FFS

Bringing in underdone players not fully fit like Lever and Viney , dropping in form players like TMac and absolutely gifting games to players who have done zilch like Petty , Sparrow and Van Rooyen is a huge part of the problem and the predicament we are currently in.

Jeremy Cameron or Jesse Hogan would struggle to kick goals in Melbournes forward line. Our delivery is so poor

It’s just getting boring now. Groundhog Day for the last three years. Win clearances and inside 50s but can’t connect with forwards. No one’s more diehard than me but I’m starting to lose interest in seeing the same B grade movie over and over again.

Why do guys like petty continuously get gifted games with no form whatsoever for nearly 2 years now!😡

We are an absolute joke how we can not pass the ball to a forward. What a waste, clearances mean nothing if you can’t use the pill, Such are a dumb dumb football side.

Does anyone know how to get that alternate commentary with Schwarz?

Isn’t Petty a disaster?

Petty plays one good game in 20. I’d rather TMac any day of the week, and had we had TMac up forward instead of Petty we could have won the Collingwood and StKilda games. Even Jeffo would offer more in my opinion.

Why wouldn’t they try TMac up forward in place of AJ? In good form , good mark and can kick, I’d say he could even do better than Petty.

We are officially back in the hunt! The boys have their confidence back and look like they really believe.

How ironical it is that we are so desperate for a key forward and the very best in the competition used to be ours.

We are so frustrating to watch, time after time. It’s like Deja Vu . Work their butts off for no reward. Ineffective forward line with our main target Butter fingers Van Rooyen can’t take a mark to save himself Fritter is just a shadow of his former self. It’s disappointing and very frustrating to see the same thing happening year after year .

To have your 3 main forwards in JVR, Fritsch and Jefferson without one solitary goal between them is a disgrace when we totally dominated that 3rd quarter. Umpires were absolutely pathetic and robbed us of any momentum at all. Langford is a star . Can’t think of any reason but fitness of why we are so poor in last quarters this season. What else could it be? I’m definitely in the move Clarry on camp for next year , maybe we can target a key forward for him?

Same old story nothing changes. Win all the stats except the scoreboard, because we have zero decent AFL level forwards. Petty as the main target is just hope more than any sort of form or runs on the board. We simply cannot score

JVR wasn’t selected because they probably want him to produce a strong block of form in the twos , build some confidence and work on a few things then come in if he shows consistency. It’s the best way to handle an out of form player. Had a decent game last week , let’s see it again.

We will be ok , with that group of youngsters. Langford was really solid and Bowey was BOG , Kozzie, Kolt, Lindsay, Windsor all great. Old stagers Viney and TMac played terrific footy. Petty at Full forward with 4 was promising and will hopefully give him some confidence in the coming weeks.

I think we turf the new game plan and give the players licence to just go ballistic at the ball and have fun with plenty of run and support. Play with spirit and excitement! Play Windsor and Lindsay forward of centre as go to players to kick and run it into the forward line. Put May at full forward with TMac, Petty and Turner as key backs. Viney as a pressure forward with Kozzie trac and clarry on ball . In fullarton, McVee , Jefferson Out JVR , Sparrow, Henderson
