Personally i think the whole thing was a puff piece from Lyon, for the MFC(to generate memberships). The only reason they had the other players, was so it wasn't so obvious.
This is a little paranoid..
Jack's just a kid, and to me it look like he was just happy to get through the interview, without making himself look like a tool. It would be a huge call on his part, to proclaim AFL stardom before his first game.
I don't think there was any personal agenda in what he said.
B. MacDonald Frawley Mckenzie
HB. Grimes Warnock Rivers
C. Dunn Davey Trengove
HF. Bate Jamar Maric
F. Green Petterd Bruce
R. Spencer Moloney Jones
I/C. Scully Martin Bennell Gysbert
these injuries have really set the tone for 2010. the last two seasons have been hard to watch, i'm personally going to struggle sitting through another like them.
What draft picks do we get if we finish in 16th place this year?
Daniel Hughes seems to be one of thoughs players, that just manages to stick around.
This would definateley be his last chance at AFL level.
Who knows he might just be another rookie gem for the MFC, we've had a few.
Current Rookie Gems for the MFC: Davey, Aussie, Mckenzie, Spencer, McDonald?.
Dew to some very unfortunate injury's , for the MFC. There may be some space on the list, for a few rookie promotions.
My top three rookies for promotion would be
Jodie McKenzie
Jake Spencer
Micheal Newton
BEST 22
B: Joel MacDonald, James Frawley, Jared Rivers
HB: Colin Garland, Matthew Warnock, Jack Grimes
C: Cale Morton, Brent Moloney, Aaron Davey
HF: Matthew Bate, Paul Johnson, Colin Sylvia
F: Austin Wonaeamirri, Brad Green, Liam Jurrah
Foll: Mark Jamar, Cameron Bruce, James McDonald
I/C: Jack Trengove, Tom Scully, Nathan Jones, Jack Watts
I'd be happy if i saw this team line-up, some time this year.
Lyon was a good player and strong leader for MFC, but may find it hard to up hold expectations of him coaching. If Lyon dosn't have the passion for coaching in the AFL, than it's best that he dosen't coach MFC.
Would be a great story (Lyon's coaching saves MFC!), but best keeped in fantasy...
Grimes has showed great development, in the 14 or so games he's played. He looks like he may become a good player, but it's way to early to claim he should be the next captain of MFC.
It's out of Davey, Moloney or Green for me, I'd be happy with one of these 3.
Who really knows what happens behind closed doors or were the money comes from?
At the moment salary cap issues don't effect MFC, who are only paying around 92% of it.
MFC would definatly have the right supporter base, for deals like these.
We have been using that supporter base for Debt-Demolition.
Vs The Hawks (W)25 points
Vs Magpies (L)67 points
Vs The Crows (W)3 points
Vs The Tigers (W)15 points
Vs The Lions (L)6 points
Vs The Kangaroos (W)45 points
I wouldn't put money on it, but i'm gonna be positive.
This years membership tally has slowed down, we've been around 22,000 for a couple of weeks.
How many weeks until round one? is it posible for MFC to get 7,000 or so members in that time?
things sure change quikly around here, a couple of months ago Martin couldn't do a thing wrong.
Whats the difference between 2009 Martin and 2010 Martin ?
Weather people like it or not Davey is MFC best player... He has ern't the right to be captain.
I like Green but he has shown no signs of true leadership for mine.........
Moloney has shown the most on field leadership out of all of them..
Agree, but have to add players like Martin, Stevens, Mckernan, Picket and King who are all greats of the 90's. North in the 90's had a team that would have matched Geelong today easily. North were awarded team of the decade(1990's) for a reason....
