Ok I give up, had a decent week of tipping overall but my two "locks" turned it up again!! Punting is a mugs game.
  2. Injuries permitting they will be challenging for the flag next year. They had a horrid offseason last year with injuries, their list is primed.
  3. He won't be playing seniors if Gawn is playing. We aren't gonna waste a spot on someone who can pinch hit for 5 minutes a quarter and do nothing else. JVR has been fine when he's gone into the ruck, it's not ideal but unless we get someone in who can actually contribute as a forward and then pinch hit in the ruck (such as Peter Wright) we aren't playing two rucks.
  4. Do you really think that would be the case?

Yeah last week was pretty diabolical for my tipping. This week not much better, I'd go Steelers as my lock with Parsons and Lawrence both out and you just know Sal having to front up for Guess The Lines straight after means a loss for the Cowboys. Don't see how Giants cover either with Malik Nabers unlikely so Seattle also a good bet even though they're giving a lot of points. And while the London games always throw up funny results I don't see how the Jets O-line withstands Flores' Vikings D. Jefferson, Addison and Nailor three decent receivers which we'll find it hard to cover too, only saving grace for the Jets is Darnold turns back into a pumpkin but more likely he gives an FU performance.

  7. He is insurance in case Gawn is injured. He won't play seniors unless that happens.
  8. I don't disagree with this but it comes back to mismanagement by the club and that is who must be held accountable. Oliver is a symptom of this culture, not the cause. Combine that with the way the potential trade scenario has been handled and it is complete dysfunctional. We are a laughing stock and it is not because of Oliver.
  9. I admire the loyalty to the club, I really do, but don't let it blind you and make you out to be a fool. This constant blaming the media instead of holding leaders at the club accountable reminds me of the Essendon supporters response to their doping program.
  10. Spot on the money Jaded. I don't know if it's Pert, Green, the Board, Richo, Goodwin, Lamb but the senior leaders at the club are responsible for the culture and they have let the club, it's supporters and players down big time. A clean slate is needed, the leadership/culture at the club is toxic.
  11. Pretty sure the clubs done a good enough job of that itself
  12. Yeah nothing to see hear, club is run like a well oiled engine, meanies in the media making rumours up from thin air just because they hate us 🙄 What sort of nuffie actually believes this garbage? The club needs a cleanout top down, Goodwin is the only one I'm 50/50 on but the board, Pres, CEO, Richo all need to go.
  13. We are pushing Oliver out the door, we have no power in any trade negotiation, we will be lucky if we get away with a future 1st rounder and not picking up any of his salary.
  14. Got the club to 65k/70k members - after a flag it was like shooting fish in a barrel. No great accomplishment. Home based at Caulfield?? Still nothing on that front despite being told for years something was imminent. Strategic plan 2020-2023 was to commence building, we don't even have a funded project plan yet! Flag in 2021, right place, right time. Hard work was done by PJ. Meanwhile club leaks like a sieve, relationships fractured, culture shot, ongoing court cases, our two best midfielders since the 60s are alienated/want out, struggled to get sponsors on board despite a flag and two top 4 finishes, club comms are deplorable, supporters are taken for granted and no effort to engage us, build crowds etc two sub 20k crowds late in the season when still technically in contention. He can't survive much longer, he is a dead man walking.
  15. I've been a member for 35 consecutive years since I was a kid, this is the first time I've seriously considered not rejoining. I couldn't go to many games this season and the club is a basketcase, not really sure what the point is.
  16. This club is run by nuffies
  17. The situation is incomparable. Clarrys cv speaks for itself, Jack Watts was a lightweight who never achieved anything.
  18. Don't worry they will leak to their mates in the media about how much of a loose cannon Clarry is so the supporters focus their anger on Oliver instead of where it should be directed.
  19. Yeah we also won 5 flags in 6 years, times change. Living in the past has never served this club well.
  20. That's all well and good but who at the club is accountable for the list management decision to sign him up long term on 1.3m/year and putting us in a salary cap hole? These issues didn't just bubble up in the last 12 months. If we dump Oliver and eat a huge chunk of his salary then Tim Lamb at the very least and likely the board if they signed off on the contract are in untenable positions. No-one at the club wants any accountability, it's always someone else's fault.
  21. It is the way it is being handled/played out that is the biggest issue. The people running the club are incompetent buffoons headed by the CEO Gary Pert. He has to go, what does he actually bring to the table?? All we get is dirty laundry aired in the media and motherhood statements when supporters/journos ask legitimate questions.
  22. The merits or otherwise of wanting to move Oliver on is one thing. The manner in which it is being handled is another. Under this administration it is the MO of the club to not have direct discussions with their staff (players) and then leak to the media to undermine the player and try and elicit sympathy for their actions from the supporters. It is [censored] cowardly and pure snake oil salesman BS. None of these issues occurred under Peter Jackson....
  23. Yes I believe it's what the supporters are experiencing with the club right now.
  24. And who is responsible for creating that culture/environment? He's not going to be out of the league, if he is still good enough to play senior footy then the club owes it to itself and the members/supporters to sort it out. Even if the club did think it best to part ways, the manner in which this is playing out is shambolic. A good club would have that discussion with the player and his manager and try and work on a solution, not go behind the players back fishing with other clubs only to have it leaked in the media and the player lose his trust in the club. The MFC is amateur hour at the moment, it reminds me of the bad old days under Schwab, Pert has to go he was a big part of the problems at Collingwood and he's brought those issues with him to Melbourne. Seems the only thing he's learnt is how to avoid being the subject of any reviews so this time he's made sure he's heading those reviews so he can't get the [censored].
  25. Stop blaming the media for reporting on the clubs dysfunction and start blaming the club for being dysfunctional.
