Rubbish, our list was easily good enough to win at least one more flag over recent years. We have underachieved by not taking advantage of our position and the relative weakness of the rest of the comp.

It's a very tough week this week I think, but then again I probably say that every week! My stone cold lock straight up would be the Chiefs, I can't see them losing to a Chargers team minus Justin Herbert. The line is quite high but the Chargers hit the wall in the 2nd half against the Steelers and if the Chiefs can stop Dobbins making runs it should be a pretty easy win against their main rival for the division. If I'm picking against the spread I'd probably go the Bills at +2.5, the Ravens have been overrun the last 2 weeks and were lucky the Cowboys ran out of time. They have to figure it out with Lamar and Henry as a huge 1-2 punch but for some reason they can get out to a 2+ score lead but then teams reel them in. Is it the defense? Tucker hasn't been his usual reliable self which might be adding to it. On the other hand the Bills are on fire the last 2 weeks destroying both Miami and the Jags. I'm also tempted by Titans at -1.5 going against either Skylar Thompson or Tim Boyle, Will Levis has made some horrible turnovers but also has a cannon for an arm and made some big throws against the Jets last week. The Titans defense is solid though and I think they will feast on whoever is at QB for the Dolphins. Thompson was sacked 5 times before being injured so the Miami O-line is doing their backup QBs no favours. Texans I was high on early but I don't trust them yet after the last 2 weeks. Let's see how they go over the next month.

As mentioned in Guess the Lines teams that are 6+ point favourites are 2-15 against the spread so far and have 9 losses straight up! I had a decent multi going this week, Philly/Vikings/Colts/Seattle/Bucs of course the Bucs as heavy home favourites cost me a 20-1 return 🤦 I did get 8-1 on Sal's favourite tip though, Chargers-Steelers double (ie Steelers to trail at halftime and win the game). Already got up twice in 3 weeks this year.

2024 Brownlow Medal
Brownlow has jumped the shark. Umpires have NFI, they are for the most part a bunch of muppets. Coaches award and players MVP far more cache these days.

They probably should have applied more critical thinking to that, "yes Gary but in 40 years you've only been involved with Fitzroy and Collingwood"

I seriously doubt anyone would be saying that.

For those who underrate our 2021 premiership…
3 goals in a minute to start the avalanche too 100-7 after trailing by 19 halfway through the 3rd. I can't imagine an onslaught like that being repeated, it was like the 84 Bombers on steroids

1964 VFL Grand Final - 60 Years Ago Today
Rhett Bartlett (son of Kevin) unearthed the full broadcast of the Toby Charlton/Norm Smith interview. He said he understands the full FTA (channel 7/9?) broadcast of quarters 3 and 4 of this GF exist and he has been trying for years to get his hands on it. Would be amazing if that came to light, this footage is great but nowhere near the same as the footage available for the 1961, 1962 and 1965 GFs. Some of the FTA footage has been shown and is in YouTube (extended highlights are on the MFC history DVD) but it is still just snippets.

Well they just bought themselves another 9 months with this press release, right?- Training Ground?
I don't necessarily disagree with you, the issue is replacing that revenue. Get rid of pokies, fine, but what will happen down the track when we have our hands out for AFL dollars again? In the meantime will we fall further behind the other clubs who still have pokies cash rolling in? Will we also excuse ourselves from other income received via sponsorship from gambling companies? Will the AFL cancel their sponsorships and "joint partnerships" with gambling companies or companies that rely on that income (ie broadcasters)? We shot ourselves in the foot and now face a giant hole in our income.- Training Ground?
It was a stupid business decision, cost us millions and pokies are still rampant. The pokies didn't disappear, the dollars just went elsewhere. Meanwhile AFL and clubs happy to cosy up to gambling companies. I hate the pokies but while they exist I'd rather the money go to the MFC than to Woolworths and Coles.- Christian Petracca
I seriously doubt that's the case. If he were in line for the B&F and hadn't had the recent controversies you think he wouldn't attend?- Training Ground?
How is it an advantage? A proper elite training facility at Caulfield should negate the need for a second one.- NFL
Have you seen Jayden Daniels attempts at sliding? Next Tua waiting to happen.- NFL

We should never have gotten rid of the pokies.- Training Ground?
What concrete plans?- Training Ground?
Is it good news or is it chicken feed to appease the masses? They said we should have an outcome on the business case by mid-2025, let's see what they have to tell us come next June.- Training Ground?
AFLW, VFL and VFLW can be based at Casey, AFL should get out of their as quick as possible- Training Ground?
If we end up with elite training facilities at Caulfield and can [censored] Casey off for good would be even better - Training Ground?
