  1. Boring is one word. [censored] infuriating is another.
  2. Dominating inside 50s and can't kick a goal, Turner will be moved forward with 5 minutes left with the game out of reach
  3. If Mills got 1 can't see AJ getting more If they are consistent....
  4. His teammates should be helping him with blocks etc around the contest
  5. He doesn't like a tag, who is providing the chop out for him?
  6. Lazy football,no pressure, back to just bombing it down the line. Seriously [censored] this team.
  7. He's useless
  8. Melbourne best team in the comp at drinking their own bathwater Can we finally admit Petty is useless (up forward at least). Softest big man in the comp.
  9. Yes
  10. They also have no overarching governance body like FIFA (regardless of what you think of them). The ANFC(?) used to hold this role but the AFL usurped it. They are now the governor of the sport as a whole as well as the league which can be problematic at times.
  11. Grass roots, state/reserves comps, Academies, draft, salary cap, fixturing all a shambles. Let's not forget the whole boys club mentality, sweeping problems under the carpet, making examples of others etc The lack of transparency and integrity is ridiculous. Other than that the game is fine.
  12. I thought that too and pretty sure we drew with the Cats (down at Kardinia Park) in 2006. Daniher was sacked around round 12 or 13 so would go with 9 games for Mark Riley as stand in coach in 2007?
  13. Seemed like it got him high on the tv but haven't seen another angle
  14. Lol another forward that can't kick, no thanks
  15. What about the bump to the head Langford copped in the last quarter? Not even a free kick! Hopefully no delayed concussion symptoms for the Bison.
  16. I was at that Vic Park game standing in the outer, still one of my favourite games I've been to. Walking out of the ground I was waving my flag and singing Grand Old Flag all the way back to Hoddle St 😂 I'm sure my dad wanted me to be quiet but we had my Collingwood supporting uncle with us which may have helped deter the ferals (I was also only 10 at the time). That win cost the Pies top spot and possibly another flag, from memory they finished 3rd and lost to the Saints in an Elimination Final (final 6 system). I was also at that Windy Hill game but we had left without 5-10 minutes left so missed the ferals invading the ground. The not only blocked his run up but blocked goal square although I doubt he would've kicked it anyway, he was just outside 50 from memory.
  17. Re: Johnson, the only thing I would change for him at the moment is the coaches telling him not to kick for goal unless it's a set shot or he is wide open with no options ahead. He burnt someone against the Lions which ended up in the Langdon goal and he did it again against the Swans when he had handball options and kicked it out on the full. Know your limitations mate! But otherwise he stays in the team until another option can replace him (JVR/Campbell most likely).
  18. Yep it's injury outcome based. Except when they want to say there was a "potential" to cause injury. And when I say "they" I mean Michael Christian. How this incompetent nuffie has been allowed to be the sole arbiter of these decisions for so long speaks to the amateur nature of the AFL. It is a farce.
  19. Yeah I wasn't sure because it seemed like against Brisbane we were slingshotting more off half back but that could have just been a result of Brisbane using precision kicking to get through our forward press more. We definitely pressed up in the last quarter against the Lions which could be seen on some of the repeated vision forcing turnovers in our forward 50/front half. I wasn't sure if yesterday was a return to the 2021 style press or it just happened that way due to Sydney's set up (on tv it looked like more players brought up to the contest as it was an extremely congested game, especially in the 1st half). Will be interesting to see how we play the Saints, Lyon is under the pump and you would presume he will be trying to to turn the game into a scrap like they did against Freo.
  20. Can we put this on Kozzie's locker too?
  21. I haven't gone through this thread in a while but wanted to ask what people thought of yesterday's setup. It seemed like we played a very 2021 style of footy, pressing up high with repeated forward 50 entries and lots of pressure/tackles inside 50. Was this just a feature of how the Swans play? Was it just that we were efficient with forward half turnovers meaning we didn't need to slingshot off half back as much? Unfortunately I had to watch from the couch as caught a virus from my son so perhaps I missed the overall view you get being at the ground. I guess the main difference is we are "lowering our eyes" more and not going long down the line to the pockets to create a higher probability of getting a stoppage inside 50 or forcing teams to hack it out down the line if they do clear it. Is that what we are seeing, a 2021 high press/defensive setup but with more forward handball chains instead of long down the line (particularly once we get to the wing) and a 2018 focus of kicking to the hotspot instead of to the pockets to create better quality scoring opportunities?
  22. His role isn't about possessions it's about creating a contest in the ruck when Gawn is off and creating a contest inside 50 to create opportunities for Pickett, Melksham, Fritsch etc 2nd ruck has been an issue for a while and at the moment the balance is working. You need to look at the team being more than the sum of its parts.
  23. He always looks like that
  24. They were lucky to make it past the semis, the Giants choked big time against them (and Daniher played out of his skin).
  25. Said the same thing to my son when he kicked it
