I timed my run beautifully, got to my seat a minute or so before Gus took the mark and put us in front. Had great seats down near the boundary and the club did a great job getting the past players involved. Particularly loved seeing Junior McDonald there, Schwarta, Wiz, Neitz, Febey (not sure which one?) and of course the Rev. Trav Johnstone looked like he was having a good day, I also saw Tingay, Newport, Green, Steve Smith, Strawbs O'Dwyer, Greg Healy and a bunch of others I've forgotten to mention. There was one player I couldn't pick though, was wearing number 9 in a late 90s/early 2000s iPrimus jumper which wouldve been the era Neitz wore it. Looked to young to be Alan Johnson so not sure who it was anyone have an idea? It was a really good day put on by the club, much better than I expected. I saw some kids towards the end of the replay getting a bit bored so was glad I left mine at home. Lots of talk around doing it again in 2022, going back to back etc let's hope the club can build off this and create a dynasty with this list.

Why, so they can have Collingwood on Friday night? What a joke, Docklands is free on Saturday have us on Friday and move Pies/Saints to Saturday. Now we have a midweek game that will make it difficult for families and others with rigid working hours to attend. Seriously, [censored] the AFL.

AFL memberships renewed the last couple of days so there's another few thousand. Plus hopefully a bunch of people sign up at the G on Sunday.

I agree but I have a feeling there won't be much more than what is already there at the moment. Not the club's fault as they would be having difficulty getting manufacturing orders filled but disappointing they may not be able to capitalise on this to the extent they otherwise could. Already a massive windfall for them though, I'd be interested in the updated figures and hopefully they get a cut from the MCG shop/AFL stores.

I went past the MCG shop to collect an order yesterday and they still had a decent amount of MFC premiership merch but had sold out of a number of items. Not many footy jumpers left except certain sizes from previous years which were on the discount rack, sold out of a few sizes of the kids mark knight tshirts etc. Apparently they sold a lot last week when the premiership cup was at the sports Museum hopefully the club gets a decent whack from that and it doesn't go straight to the AFL The Demon Shop is obviously running on funes with the merch that is left there and even the AFL store has sold out of lots of stuff. My wife even ordered some demons pyjamas and boxers for christmas presents for the kids and my brother (not sure from where maybe cotton on) and the order couldn't be fulfilled as they'd sold out of all except one of the pyjama sizes. Hopefully the club will be getting more merch in stock because they will make a killing even after Christmas and especially in the new year when we are back at the G round 1.

Went past JB today and the shelf was stacked with the victory packs, dvds and blurays, a more magnificent sight I am yet to behold
-
Yeah same I got the email yesterday too

Off to the Suns, surely he comes back to us in 2 years when Maxy/Brown are probably looking at winding down.
-
Problem is I don't know how much stock they'll have to sell. Jump on the website and there isn't much available.

M35 is the Ponsford next to the MCC I think - southern stand is M1-M28 so you won't be facing the back of the stage. Sounds like they'll only have the northern/Ponsford stands open anyhow
-
Finally got email at 2:16pm lucky my son is too young for an AFL membership so I got an email to my work account with a barcode so got 10 tickets in M50, will be a different experience in the northern stand 🤣
-
Still haven't got anything neither have my family
-
I'm AFL member with club support no email yet either Can non members get tickets? Doesn't seem to say anything about needing a membership to be able to attend
-
Lol OK mate If that's all they're doing not sure as many will bother going as they expect. They should be making a day of it, having activities for the kids, merch tables setup etc with the game on screens around the oval/Yarra Park. It's a nice sentiment but just trying to replicate the GF experience will fall flat I think, especially if its just being played on the two MCG screens.
-
That's what I'm wondering, will there be additional things like the regular family days they have? Or will we be confined to our seats while the game is replayed and then the presentation of players/coaches? Also will the replays be confined to the 2 screens at the ground? Or will there be large screens/projectors setup on the oval? Would be good to have some more info.

What are you on about, there's no restrictions on numbers as of last week I assume you'll be offering DA an apology for your outburst
-
This is a dumb question but where are the other 12 cups housed? Are they kept at the MCG if so where? In the MCC?
-
They have a contingency plan for this

When I took the kids for the MCG tour and sports Museum back in April the cafe inside gate 3 was open during an average weekday with hardly anyone there. You'd have to assume they'll have at least a few of the outlets open.

Pretty sure it wasn't the media who drummed up Watts' debut on queen's birthday. I remember cringing as they played it up on the scoreboard before the game, showing him in the rooms, running onto the ground etc He was still in high school for heaven's sake.
-
Did you venture around to see if the demon shop was open?
-
At the sports Museum? I wasn't sure if we'd get to have a pic holding it or it would be on display only
