  1. No. He's a Queenslander. Doesn't mean anything though. I'd take him. May as well take Dangerfield and Prestia as well. Thank you very much. Unfortunately, the problem with Christianity and most religions is that they can be interpreted in any way. This can be good, but it can equally be incredibly dangerous. Everyone is well within their right to practice or not practice any faith they wish. That decision should be done to the individual, but there can't be any denying that religion has been the route of just about every war in the past 100 years, with perhaps the exception of the Vietnam and Korean Wars. Yeah, I'm not sure Sydney are as shrewd as they once were under Roos.
  2. I doubt it... Which shows a lack of understanding on their parts, given that Catholicism is a tradition of the Christian faith.
  3. I think you might have taken over the mantel of most negative poster on Demonland in the last few weeks. Well done.
  4. This thread has the makings of the Dangerfield thread from last year.
  5. We've had a few. McCartney, Brayshaw and Garlett (and possibly Goody). Love 'em.
  6. He's effective. Don't play with it. It's about building endurance. There's a difference...
  7. Unfortunately, with your 8 posts, Mr Cardwell, you won't be taken particularly seriously on this one.
  8. This, I believe, is all related to the confidence he has in his back and hamstrings. It's all linked. I have no concerns about Jesse's ability to lengthen his set shot kicking once his body is right. Until then, he's a beautiful set shot from 40-45m, on most angles. ANB. I was surprised he missed it. He's been shown to be a lovely set shot.
  9. Sorry, mate. Was out for dinner. He went in under duress and they were saying he wouldn't have played had it not been Maddie's match. I'd say he'll miss next week, then again I didn't expect him to play this year. So he could well come up for next week.
  10. Doesn't look like they'll have Riewoldt either.
  11. Gawn's tap work was rubbish for three quarters last week. Today he was very good.
  12. I wonder how St Kilda being spanked today will influence the game next week. The Saints rarely play at the 'G either.
  13. Doesn't really remind me of Grimes at all. He's a beautiful kick and makes good decisions. Was outpositioned a few times today, but he'll learn.
  14. So Prestia's gone from a B grader to an A+ grader in a week, in your calculations, mate?
  15. Yeah, great finish to that game.
  16. We were decent defensively, but what I noticed about the Lions' zone is that they never (at least consistently) moved their defensive zone over about 25 metres of where the ball was. This meant that so often we could kick over their zone simply by hitting up a short target. It was like playing an under 12s side that all cluster near the ball carrier. It also meant that either the Lions' players weren't working hard enough or Leppitsch is a rubbish coach (or both).
  17. Just watching the Port and Crows game. Why the hell are they not using a yellow footy?
  18. Bang on, mate. Agree with everything you say there. Harmes looks a player to me too. Faded badly at times today, but that's okay. He's only playing his second game. I really like his hands. He can pinpoint a difficult handball, but manages to thread the eye of the needle and hits the target. Did it last week as well. His goal assist for Tommy Mac's second was brilliant. Just on this, thought it was easily the worst game Jones has played since 2013. He looked for the easy handball around the back the whole time, chose poor options and his disposal was ordinary. Hoping he and Vince can bring their A games next week, otherwise St Kilda will towel us up.
  19. I fear so, but I guess I've gotta give him a season or two more to see whether he progresses, but let's just say for the moment, I'm not sold.
  20. What really impressed me today about Tom up forward, was his intent and speed to tackle opposition backmen. He was a threat even when they had possession. He played a good game, did Tom. Well done, Tommy Mac. But agreed. An occasional swingman, otherwise keep him down back. We could do it today though, because they weren't tall up forward or down back.
  21. I have grave concerns over the future of JKH. I'm just not sure he has the tools.
  22. Daniel Cross was our best player, IMO. Closely followed by Gawn, Hogan and... Chris Dawes.
  23. Was it three goals after quarter time, against the bottom side?
