  1. Could your reluctance to let Garland go, but trade Toumpas, be linked to sentimentality, mate? If Garland can't improve under Roos and harness the ability to attack off half back, then he never will, IMO. I'm leaning towards trading Col more so every week. I agree though, if the price was right with Toumpas. The thing to ask regarding Toumpas is what type of player we've got and what are we happy with. I actually think the argument you've made for Col turning things around when the team rises, could be made for Jimmy too. Toumpas is a gut-running mid with nice disposal that currently shits himself occasionally, which results in a poor decision making. Toumpas will grow into an important role player. Not necessarily who you want at pick 4, but if there aren't any better offers, I'm happy enough with Jimmy. He also shows a passion to improve. I like it.
  2. Yeah, you sound like you have some MFCSS there, HH.
  3. It feels more like 10% to me.
  4. He is also the most inarticulate journalist I've ever heard. The HUN is a joke, but it's incredible that he is their Chief Football Writer. He's an embarrassment on AFL 360. GW holds that show together. He's not as good as he used to be, but he's a King in comparison to that idiot. And he's wrong.
  5. Also copped a hit early in a tackle that would have tested that trap of his.
  6. Used to watch that video on loop as a kid.
  7. Bit harsh on Jones and Brayshaw.
  8. I'm not telling you that. I agree.
  9. Prestia is just as good as Treloar (if not better). And I think Treloar is a gun. Yes, we need a FF. Hogan can play across half forward, up the ground and deep forward. You do raise a good point though, he's not the most mobile of kids. He is more of your old fashioned FF. If we got him, I'd hope he could play CHF too.
  10. And I think after two shithouse weeks, we will be.
  11. If they stick to the plan, most of the time, there's no need for a plan B. Bring tackling pressure, win the footy in close and move the ball quickly. Very simple plan really. Oh and kick straight.
  12. Our problem on the weekend was kicking the thing straight, OD. Tommy Mac is arguably our worst kick.
  13. Hi David. :D You were never as poor by foot as Tommy Mac is. That's why you succeeded. Come back to the MFC soon.
  14. I can't understand those people who don't rate Prestia. His trade to Melbourne would be one of the biggest coups in my lifetime of supporting the MFC (28 years).
  15. We'll beat Brisbane. Bookmark it.
  16. Or we might just play someone that has a go and chases his opponent. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Matt Jones offers more as a defensive forward than Howe. Rubbish.
  17. Every Hawthorn player has great team understanding. They all work together as a team. Until we start to work together as a team, we won't make finals, let alone crack the top 10. The thing about the Essendon game was had we come to play we would have won. Had we kicked straight, we still would have won. We didn't bother addressing the spare Essendon player, because it shouldn't have had an affect.
  18. Well, he is an A grader. There's really no two ways about it.
  19. Brad Green's last quarter was amazing on Andrew McKay. I remember pulling my groin from jumping up out of my seat when Bruce kicked that goal.
  20. Yeah, let's just leave it there. Not a lot to be gained from back and forthing. And so as not to be completely digressional (if that's a word), we should delist Terlich even though he's contracted.
  21. Glad you came back to us, mate. You don't sound like a Bummer. And I was too young for Healy, but I loved Jimmy too.
  22. Yeah, Jeff Farmer was my next favourite. Loved him. I was shattered when he left and then to have him kick the winning goal against us... it was hard.
  23. I think that's been a theme going back as far as Bailey. Jack Watts, for example, was touted as having great leadership and he does show it occasionally. Grimes, Trengove and now Hogan, Petracca, Brayshaw. These are all guys with strong leadership qualities.
  24. Have to keep it close and contested, otherwise they will run all over us. We get hammered by the quick sides, but if the game is played on our terms (see the first half against GWS earlier this year), we can dominate. Sustaining it for four quarters is the tough bit.
