I haven't felt that hollow after a win since we beat the expansion sides in their first year's. Gee, it's tough being a Melbourne supporter. Even when we win, it feels like a loss.
-
Goalless in a quarter against the bottom side. Absolutely pathetic.
-
We've said it before, but gee Watts will be a weapon in a good side.

Gawn is playing a much better game today. Faded a little bit in that first half, but his tap work far more constructive. Glad to see it. He really adds a lot to our midfield. Now to play four quarters.

Thanks mate.

So not knowing anything about Hunt, could anyone please tell me what his weaknesses are at this stage?

If PJ stays at the helm and the AFL with their finger on the pulse, our fans won't tolerate team insipidness much longer. Most of us are on board for the third rebuild since '07. Not sure many members will be on board for a 4th rebuild, particularly if the great Paul Roos fails. I think we'll be alright though. We will turn the corner soon. It might not be this season, but I'm confident by the time Goodwin takes over, we'll be playing consistent footy.

I felt like Essendon were playing to their capacity in the first half and we still should have been in front. I wasn't worried until the last ten minutes of the game. They're just a very ordinary football side. I know they had some injuries, but they're not going anywhere over the next few years. We just didn't turn up. That won't be happening in two years time.

Got some Melbourne links too, does Luke. I wish we'd gone after Luke too, but I'll reserve judgement on Goody. I hope he has some inventiveness like Clarkson and Beveridge. The really top coaches are always the one's that push the envelope with new tactics and game plans.

Of which, most will be turn overs, in dangerous areas. -

Gawn was tapping it down to no one pretty much after quarter time. It's also up to him to communicate where he's going to hit to. It's no coincidence Roos highlighted his game as needing some work. -

We will lose if Gawn rucks as je did last week. Considering Roos implied he has some work to do, I hope they've really hammered him this week. He should be dominating the clearances with his height. -
Delistings/trades at end of the season
Adam The God replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Let's revisit this in six months time, mate. Reckon we'll get our man this time. Well, whether there is a clause or not, the claim would be that with the drug culture up there, the club has been in breach of providing a safe work environment. It's thin I admit, but we shall see. -
Well, what else are they supposed to do? We'd do exactly the same thing in their position. They'd be negligent not to explore all possible options. I don't have a problem with them approaching Goody now. If he says yes, I'd be very surprised. He hasn't even been with us for a full season yet.

MFCSS, WB. Well, both actually. He's telling us that the MFC is targeting players in the FA pool, yet in fact the MFC'll be looking somewhere else. -

I hear that Dion will indeed use the 'safe workplace environment' clause to get to us. If it happens, that'll be one back for Clark last year. -

We're a contested ball team. It's perfect. We just need a bit of outside run and then we're building a similar type of team to Roos' 2005 premiership team. I hold high hopes for Gus Brayshaw too. In two years, he could be an absolute star. Just needs to get more of it. If he starts to get 25-30 possessions a game, he is going to be one of the most damaging players in the comp. Such a good decision maker, with great skills. And we haven't even seen Petracca in a Melbourne jumper yet. How exciting! Isn't the cap growing for the next couple of years? Or was that just this year? rpfc tends to know these details. Do you know, mate, or does anyone else? I think you'll find this is a clever bit of misdirection from Roosy. -

I should really charge coaching fees for that pep talk. I'm occasionally available if you need me, Roosy. I suspect you're okay at it yourself though. -

If I was Roos, I'd be posting this quote on the pinboard and making every player look at it. 'This is what the opposition thinks of you. No respect. There's no respect. We have to earn it. Start earning it today.' There we go. That'd be my pep talk. -
Delistings/trades at end of the season

I was thinking about this yesterday. We have to get our stoppage set ups working properly to take advantage of Dion's talents, but I'd be confident that he'd be our leading clearance player anyway. -

Absolute gun. He's underrated because he plays up in Queensland. If he was at a Melbourne-based team, he'd be being talked about as one of the next generation of superstars. Let's hope his knee doesn't impact his game and let's also hope he comes home. -

Would love to know what he has to do to become an A grader, mate. I'd love another KPF too. But we might have to wait a year or two on that one. Peders can play the second KPF position and Dawes can be used as trade currency. I'll trust the FD on this one, mate. Reckon they're lining up one or two good prospects. -

Lol, Dion is the clearance gun. Better than any of those blokes you mention. And I thought he was a B grader, HH?
